“The person who has gathered the seven Dragon Balls, state your wishes. I can grant you three, no matter what they are.”
As Polunga spoke in a normal language, everyone except Lin Chuan was greatly surprised again.
From one wish to three! This was simply incredible.
The ability to grant even one wish was already miraculous.
Expressions of astonishment continued, mostly from Bulma, who complained about how the Earth’s dragon wasn’t up to par.
Compared to this dragon, the Earth seemed hardly worthy of carrying shoes.
Piccolo chimed in with his opinion, casually denigrating Earth’s Guardian, Kami, in the process.
Polunga seemed pleased with their praises and visibly puffed up his imposing chest.
“Alright, Polunga has been summoned. Now, you may state your wishes. Polunga can grant three, but they must be made in the Namekian language to be fulfilled,” Nail explained after understanding the exchange between Bulma and Piccolo.
Although he was concerned, he didn’t delve deeper.
If Lin Chuan’s wishes were unrealistic or threatened their race, then as the Grand Elder had instructed him, he could either interpret Lin Chuan’s wishes to minimize their impact or simply refuse to grant such wishes.
Hearing Nail’s explanation, Lin Chuan, staring at the dragon far larger than Earth’s, did not hesitate and said, “My first wish is for the dragon to grant me the ability to teleport instantly to any planet at will.”
After Lin Chuan expressed his wish, Nail, after considering and finding no threat in the wish, looked up and translated Lin Chuan’s words into the Namekian language for Polunga.
“Unfortunately, I cannot grant this wish,” Polunga responded after only a brief pause.
Lin Chuan, taken aback, asked, “Why? It’s just instant transmission. Is it that difficult?”
He could understand why Earth’s dragon might be unable to fulfill this, but Polunga’s response was frustrating.
“Your request for a type of instant transmission that does not require any medium and can be used to travel to any planet is a capability managed by the Supreme Kais of the universe. In other words, only Supreme Kais can learn and use it,” Polunga explained.
“While I can indeed intervene in divine matters, I still cannot grant a mortal the divine techniques. Moreover, operating such divine techniques requires divine power, and even if I granted you the ability, you wouldn’t be able to use it.”
Stunned by this revelation, Lin Chuan was momentarily lost for words.
The Earth’s dragon had only mentioned being unable to reach the realm of the gods.
“This Kai’s instant transmission is a divine technique! It requires divine power to execute!” Lin Chuan processed this new information.
Polunga added, “However, I am aware of a similar ability within the universe. On a planet called Yardrat, a group of beings known as Yardratians possess a form of instant transmission. Although it has significant limitations, requiring a pre-established target to function, it is still a form of instant transmission. If you wish, I can grant you this ability and even enhance it slightly as compensation for not being able to fulfill your request completely.”
Lin Chuan raised an eyebrow, “How would you enhance it?”
“Although I cannot remove the need to lock onto a target, I can add a special ability: as long as you have visited a place and left a spatial mark, you can use instant transmission to travel there. How does that sound?” Polunga proposed.
Considering the offer, Lin Chuan quickly evaluated its usefulness. While it wasn’t as unrestricted as Kai’s technique, it still seemed useful.
“Acceptable,” Lin Chuan nodded.
Polunga gestured approval, and without waiting for Nail to translate again, he fulfilled his wish.
That was Polunga for you, a dragon with a touch of compassion.
Earth’s dragon was nothing compared to this.
“Whoom~~~!!!” As Polunga’s eyes blazed with red light, a surge of wishing power enveloped Lin Chuan, who felt his mind fill with new information. His body naturally absorbed it, learning to use instant transmission and set spatial marks.
“Your first wish has been fulfilled. Now, state your second wish,” Polunga continued.
“My second wish should be simpler than the first. Please grant me the ability to heal myself from any injury or near-death condition,” Lin Chuan stated, having decided to advance this wish to secure a foundational capability for himself.
Self-healing or healing ability!
Upon hearing this, Nail didn’t sense any danger or immortality-related issues with the wish and straightforwardly translated Lin Chuan’s words for Polunga.
After receiving the command to fulfill the second wish, Polunga paused momentarily.
“I am not sure how extensive you intend the healing to be, but I can
Grant you a special type of self-healing ability. As long as there is energy in your body, no matter how severe the injury, you can convert your energy into healing power to heal yourself,” Polunga clarified.
“Would that be acceptable?” Polunga asked.
Once again, the wish was modified, but after careful consideration, Lin Chuan felt it was reasonable and nodded to Polunga.
“Very well, I will now fulfill your second wish,” said Polunga, realizing the wish.
