On Friday morning, in the classroom of Class 1-A at the Ninja Academy, the students were discussing how to approach their upcoming taijutsu lesson.
“Should we act the same way we did last class?” one student asked.
“Not today. Based on what Mokutsuki-sensei said yesterday, the taijutsu teacher must have exaggerated our actions to Mokutsuki-sensei,” Izumo Kamizuki deduced.
“Given Mokutsuki-sensei’s personality, he might come and supervise during the taijutsu class to help the taijutsu teacher.”
“I can’t believe the taijutsu teacher reported us to another teacher,” Kotetsu Hagane grumbled.
Reporting was one thing, but adding extra details was even more infuriating.
“Today, let’s give Mokutsuki-sensei some respect and not push for the taijutsu teacher’s dismissal,” Izumo Kamizuki suggested.
The students agreed with Izumo’s reasoning and decided to treat the taijutsu class as if it were Mokutsuki’s class.
“This taijutsu teacher is really annoying,” Anko Mitarashi said, looking frustrated.
Her poor taijutsu training had led to Mokutsuki’s criticism, and now the taijutsu teacher had even complained about her to Mokutsuki.
The students of Class 1-A all nodded in agreement, feeling that Tani Toshihiro’s actions had caused their opinion of him to plummet.
After the bell rang, Tani Toshihiro entered the classroom.
Seeing the students quietly seated, he felt relieved.
But he didn’t let his guard down, as the students hadn’t shown their hostility at the start of the previous class either.
“Everyone, go to the field and run three laps to warm up,” Tani Toshihiro said with a cough.
The students followed his instructions, went downstairs, and began running without discussing Tani Toshihiro.
After the run, Tani Toshihiro began teaching taijutsu forms. After demonstrating twice, he let the students practice freely.
Not a single student spoke ill of Tani Toshihiro, making him feel that this class was completely different from the last one.
“I really owe Hanyu-sensei a drink,” Tani Toshihiro thought gratefully.
He knew this change was because of Mokutsuki. Without Mokutsuki’s intervention, the students’ behavior wouldn’t have changed so drastically.
At that moment, Mokutsuki, as requested by Tani Toshihiro, passed by the training field.
Mokutsuki greeted Tani Toshihiro and stayed on the field for a while.
After class, Izumo Kamizuki smugly said, “I told you, Mokutsuki-sensei would definitely come.”
“So, does this mean we won’t act anymore?” a student asked reluctantly.
The more Mokutsuki helped Tani Toshihiro, the more annoyed they were with Tani Toshihiro.
“Of course not. Mokutsuki-sensei can’t be free all the time. Next class, we can continue our plan,” Izumo Kamizuki said.
…
In Class 2-B, Rin Nohara noticed Obito Uchiha scratching his head and struggling with his homework and asked worriedly, “Obito, what’s going on with you lately? You seem really diligent, always studying whenever you have time.”
Although the severe study was a good thing, Rin was worried about Obito’s sudden enthusiasm for theory.
Hearing Rin’s question, Obito paused, feeling a lump in his throat.
It wasn’t diligence or a love for studying; it was the consequence of not practicing taijutsu well!
Delaying homework came at a cost. For example, ten questions might turn into eleven if postponed.
This meant that although Obito didn’t have to do a lot of homework in one day, he had to do it every day.
What made it worse was that training continued daily, meaning new questions accumulated constantly.
But doing it all at once was too painful and would affect his training.
“Everyone’s grades are improving, so I can’t fall behind,” Obito said, forcing a stiff smile.
He would never admit that his punishment for poor taijutsu was the reason.
“It’s great that you have such motivation. It feels like you’ve grown a lot,” Rin said, smiling warmly.
Since the beginning of their schooling, Rin had taken care of Obito like a little brother.
Seeing Obito now excelling in practical exams and starting to pass theoretical ones made Rin very happy.
“Haha, is that so?” Obito’s stiff smile softened at Rin’s praise, like wilted plants receiving water.
Buoyed by Rin’s compliment, Obito’s speed in solving questions increased, and he even felt he could tackle tomorrow’s work ahead of time.
“Obito, what are you planning for the weekend?” Rin asked.
“Wait, is today already Friday?” Obito broke into a cold sweat. The past few days of taijutsu training and constant homework they had made him lose track of time.
“Yeah, after today’s class, it’s the weekend. Aren’t you happy, Obito?” Rin asked with a smile.
As confirmed by Rin, Obito felt a wave of despair.
From Monday to Friday, they only trained from after school until sunset.
But weekends were different; they trained from morning till sunset.
More training time meant more battles with Might Guy, and more battles meant more homework.
Obito could already see the questions and test papers piling up, threatening to drown him.
“Obito, are you okay? You look a bit pale. Do you need to go to the infirmary?” Rin asked, seeing his distressed expression.
“No, I’m just really happy about the weekend,” Obito forced a smile.
“Yes, I’m very happy. More training means more strength. I’ll get first place in the school and earn Rin’s admiration,” Obito began mentally preparing himself.
“Promise me, Rin, that you’ll practice taijutsu well,” Obito couldn’t help but say.
“Of course, I know taijutsu is important,” Rin nodded, not grasping the depth of Obito’s plea.
After school, Obito went to the training area in the Southern Forest.
Might Guy have arrived earlier and was already training?
The two exchanged a look, each seeing the determination to win in the other’s eyes.
They both knew what the weekend meant.
This was no joke; one slip, and they’d be buried under piles of homework.
“If I had the Sharingan, I could definitely do it!” Obito, for the first time, desperately wished to awaken the Uchiha clan’s bloodline limit.
The Sharingan’s dynamic vision could easily read the enemy’s movements.
He had a feeling that by the end of the weekend, the amount of homework might be enough to last until the end of the term.
“I can’t let that happen!” Obito punched a training dummy fiercely.
On the other side, Might Guy silently lifted a massive boulder, doing deep squats to strengthen his leg muscles.
He not only wanted to avoid extra homework but also aimed to be the top student in the grade.
Mokutsuki watched the two of them train with such determination and smiled in satisfaction.
Maintaining this level of training, Hyuga Hiromon wouldn’t stand a chance against them in a month.
