One Piece: I Can Simplify Skills Chapter 28

Haki Envelopment

A massive and oppressive aura of Haki coiled around Garp’s Iron Fist, with faint red electricity appearing on the black fist as he stably caught Rokujin’s Demon Flame Slash. Instantly, the slash shattered like glass upon contact with Garp’s Iron Fist. “Boom!” A loud noise erupted! With just one strike, the massive slash was shattered into countless tiny flames, falling from the sky like a rain of fire.

Seeing this, everyone at the scene stared in stunned silence at Garp in mid-air.

Not a word was spoken. “So strong! Is this the strength of Vice Admiral Garp?” “Way too strong, I definitely wouldn’t stand a chance!” “Is there even a point in saying that? How could you possibly stand a chance against Vice Admiral Garp?” “…” “So strong!” Rokujin’s eyes brightened, and he blurted out subconsciously. Suddenly, the system beeped with a notification.

[Ding, congratulations host on discovering the Haki skill “Haki Envelopment,” would you like to learn it?]

“Yes!”

[Ding, congratulations host on successfully learning “Haki Envelopment”!]

Haki Envelopment is a technique within Haki, not counted as a skill, and not something everyone can learn. Unexpectedly, he had now learned it from Garp!

Moments later, Garp landed on the ground and walked up to Rokujin, slamming a fist down towards Rokujin’s head.

“You brat! Who taught you swordsmanship, and was there really a need to use such powerful techniques against your comrades?” “Ah!” Rokujin cried out in pain, holding his head, speechless, “Grandpa, I know I was wrong!” It really hurt! His head was swollen! Now, he truly understood Luffy’s pain!

“Tell me! Who taught you swordsmanship?” Garp continued to ask.

By striking Rokujin, he was addressing the issue of Rokujin using his skills on his comrades and also reprimanding him for not telling him about his Haki abilities. “I learned it myself,” Rokujin answered truthfully. “Hmm?” Hearing this, Garp slightly frowned, still somewhat incredulous. But upon further reflection, this swordsmanship was different from Shanks’s, so it likely needed to be taught by Shanks. Moreover, Rokujin seemingly didn’t have the time or a teacher, so self-learning was the only possibility. “You’re honest enough.

The selection for the advanced training camp is coming up, you better perform well and enter Admiral Zephyr’s elite camp, got it?” “Yes, Grandpa!” Rokujin responded thoughtfully, even saluting. “Alright, I’m off!” With that, Garp turned and left.

As soon as he was gone, everyone immediately crowded around, bombarding Rokujin with questions. “Rokujin, did you really teach yourself swordsmanship? Can you teach me?” “Yeah, we could spar and learn.” “That move was so cool, how did you do it?” “…” Seeing this, Rokujin felt awkward, unsure how to respond because he learned by himself, with the aid of the system.

How could he explain that? Soon, Barton approached, head down, looking helpless: “Rokujin, I lost this time, but I will definitely defeat you next time!” “Sure, I’m always ready!” Rokujin nodded.

At the same time, the system notification sounded. [Ding, congratulations host on completing the mission, system reward: Energy Point +1!] After this battle, his energy points were running low.

Energy Points: 2]

However, he still had a chance to level up a specific skill.

Fortunately, he could keep it on hand, ready to be used at the most opportune moment to maximize its potential.

Next, Rokujin dived back into intense training days. Day in, day out, it was all about training. A few days later.

Rokujin was reading the newspaper when he suddenly saw a familiar headline, “Fire at the Goa Kingdom’s junkyard, many refugees dead, the king expresses deep sorrow!” His only thought was: Hypocrisy! Without a doubt, this fire was the work of the Goa Kingdom’s nobility. Although Rokujin killed the Sapphire Pirate Crew’s Brujém, the nobles could easily find another to carry out their deeds.

It seemed that Sabo had indeed separated from Luffy and Ace. Their destinies were different, and Rokujin wasn’t too surprised by this. Of course, he had been reading the newspaper these days, not just the daily updates but also past issues.

He discovered that Empress Hancock had been rescued by Fisher Tiger, and it happened two years ago. Rokujin felt a bit of regret; any man would think highly of the Empress. After finishing the newspaper, he went straight to sleep.

Time flew

By… A month later. The intermediate training camp ended. Eighteen people graduated successfully and moved on to the advanced training camp.

They had the opportunity to participate in Admiral Zephyr’s elite camp selection. Rokujin and several companions entered the training ground of the advanced camp; looking around, they saw not just themselves but other participants, all advanced camp trainees. Glancing around, he suddenly noticed a few familiar faces.

For instance, the handsome silver-haired Smoker, the sweet-looking Ain with blue wavy hair… These tasks ahead would all be Zephyr’s students, all strong in their own right. After checking everyone’s information, Rokujin found that the highest-ranked was Smoker:

[Character: Smoker]
[Position: Sergeant]
[Level: C+]

[Fruit: Smoke-Smoke Fruit][Skills: Hand-to-Hand Combat (C+), Fruit Abilities (C), Marksmanship (C)…]

His strength could be more formidable, but the Smoke-Smoke Fruit is tricky. Everyone present was also sizing each other up, trying to identify the strong competitors. After all, only a few could enter Admiral Zephyr’s elite training camp. As Garp’s grandson, Rokujin’s presence naturally attracted much attention. “Look, that’s Garp’s grandson, Rokujin, right?” “Yeah, I heard he’s killed a few pirates and is now a Warrant Officer!” “Hmph! Maybe he had help doing it. What’s so great about that?” “…” People murmured among themselves, occasionally casting disdainful glances. Rokujin, however, was indifferent; being powerful naturally breeds jealousy.

Suddenly, the entire field fell silent. You could hear a pin drop! A navy officer with purple hair and a robust build, around sixty years old, walked in. Instantly, all the sailors stood up straight, arrayed in order. The air around seemed to tense up! “Zephyr!” Rokujin recognised him immediately, and the system displayed his strength as SS rank. A formidable strength! Now he’s older, but he’d probably be even stronger if it were his younger days!

After a moment, Zephyr stood at the front podium, gazing at the people before him, not speaking for a long time. No one dared to meet his gaze, all lowering their heads. The air was deathly silent! After what felt like an eternity, Zephyr finally spoke, his voice indifferent: “So, you are this batch of the advanced training camp members? I wonder how many of you can enter my elite camp!”
