“By the way, you just moved in yesterday. How did you manage to build an underground tunnel, specially reinforced and connected to the ocean, in just one night?”
“I’m pretty sure I thoroughly inspected this estate when I bought it for you. There was definitely no underground passage!”
Listening to Tony Stark’s relentless complaints, Qi Jun smiled slightly but said nothing.
To be honest, staying on Venus—a place with no signs of human life and constant acid rainstorms—for even just two days made Qi Jun feel like he would go crazy if he didn’t return to Earth soon. However, Qi Jun didn’t respond to Tony Stark’s complaints. Should he tell him that the seemingly high-tech underground tunnel, which allowed him to fly at high speeds, was created with a snap of his fingers, costing only a few quickly replenished energy points?
Moreover, Tony Stark might just be complaining without genuinely wanting to know.
“My second request. What about my company?”
Previously, Qi Jun had disclosed a lot of information to Tony Stark and asked for three returns. The first was naturally this luxurious private estate on Long Island. The second was for Tony Stark to use completely private resources to set up a company for him.
There wasn’t any special purpose—he just wanted to play at being the world’s richest person and see if he could compete with Black Panther in wealth. That’s all! What else could opening a company bring Qi Jun? Power? He didn’t need it!
“Relax!”
“Trust me to handle it!”
“If the company wasn’t already up and running, I wouldn’t have the face to come to you.”
“All management and employees, on the surface and even in intelligence agency records, will have no connection to the Stark family.”
“Such hidden resources are essential for any conglomerate family to rise again in case of unexpected events!”
“So, on the surface, you will have no connection to me, Tony Stark, or the Stark family!”
Tony Stark rolled his eyes dramatically, looking at Qi Jun as if he were ungrateful.
“In this world, money is… king!”
“Big Boss Tony took just one day to get all the paperwork done for you!”
“But why use… this name?”
“You still haven’t explained what it means!”
“Is it also an acronym like S.H.I.E.L.D.?”
“Is this some organization behind you?” Tony Stark looked at Qi Jun with suspicion as if trying to figure him out.
Of course, Tony Stark had guessed a bit. It was indeed an acronym. But it was from a non-famous internet organization on Earth from which Qi Jun had come. Qi Jun chose this name partly for nostalgia and partly because the company he was setting up would utilize some items from that organization.
Before crossing over, Qi Jun was a pseudo-member of this foundation. He was interested and had learned about it, but couldn’t register as a member due to the strange requirement of using a Google email. Why not use Tencent or Sina instead?
One remarkable item from that foundation was something that could cure all diseases! Note: all diseases! In as little as half an hour, or up to two hours at most! This miraculous item was just a fictional concept in Qi Jun’s previous world. But here, Qi Jun could easily manifest it and related data for his new company to produce! Qi Jun believed that becoming the world’s richest person would be simple with such a miraculous item!
Of course, such immense wealth would attract envy and even theft. It would definitely be targeted! This necessitated private armed forces to protect his interests. Sufficient military strength was essential to safeguard his assets, not grovel like some companies.
This was easily manageable for Qi Jun, who possessed the Mutated Stone. Besides producing high-tech healing potions, this new group company would also take over the weapon manufacturing department Tony Stark had shut down! In the original story, Hammer Industries took over this department after Obadiah’s death. But with Qi Jun’s intervention, there would be no place for Hammer Industries.
Qi Jun even wondered if Hammer Industries would still trigger the “Iron Man 2” events without acquiring Stark’s weapons department. Probably not. Copying Tony’s physics knowledge made Ivan Vanko useless…
“Didn’t I tell you before?” Qi Jun glanced at Tony Stark.
“When did you ever say that?”
Tony Stark, momentarily pausing his gentle swirling of the wine glass, became agitated and questioned back. Did you not have any sense of what you have or haven’t said?
“Really?” Qi Jun chuckled inwardly at Tony’s reaction, feigning confusion and pretending to think.
“Okay, maybe I didn’t mention it.”
Qi Jun’s nonchalant attitude made Tony Stark grind his teeth in frustration. He looked at the Mark IV standing nearby, thought for a moment, then sighed and collapsed back on the sofa. Can’t fight him…
