One Piece Quest Fruit Chapter 28

Training Progress and Leaving Quiz Island

Eust didn’t have much to do after the battle with the pirates’ night raid ended. Moreover, the operation went unexpectedly smoothly, with Eust only having to intervene twice before the fight was over.

Handling the pirates’ corpses and cleaning up the battlefield were left to others, allowing Eust to enjoy some leisure time.

Upon returning to Quiz Island, Shook informed everyone in the village about the pirates’ defeat. The villagers were very happy, knowing they no longer had to worry about pirate attacks.

The village chief also came out to thank everyone who fought that night and urged the villagers to bring out food and drinks to celebrate the good news.

The village chief had wanted to deal with the pirate problem quickly but was hesitant due to concerns about casualties. Since Shook and his team had resolved the issue, he was no longer conflicted. He even told Shook to inform him about future actions, hoping to contribute to the village himself.

With a favorable outcome, Eust and Sunny happily enjoyed their special cheese, as nothing tempts a foodie more than delicious food.

The next morning, Eust asked Sunny about the mission. Due to the pirate incident the previous day, the mission couldn’t be taken or executed, so Sunny didn’t issue it. Today, there was no room for delay.

Sunny then shared the good news with Eust: the mission fruit’s development regarding training mission reward bonuses was complete. From now on, regardless of the reward chosen for training missions, there would be a certain bonus, with the highest bonus given when choosing the most compatible strength enhancement.

Getting more rewards was certainly good news, but the next question was which ability development direction to choose.

Eust believed that choosing the reward bonus direction for life missions was better, while Sunny thought the reward bonus for hunting missions was more suitable.

After a heated debate, Eust won, at the cost of sharing some of the special cheese with Sunny.

Eust insisted on the reward bonus direction for life missions for a reason he explained to Sunny: it was for universality. Currently, Eust urgently needed a navigator, and life missions were more universal than hunting missions.

Moreover, enhancing already developed abilities didn’t take much time, so prioritizing that direction wasn’t too important.

With the development direction of the mission fruit’s abilities decided, Sunny issued a new mission.

Eust had Sunny use Plan A as the basic template for issuing the mission, with Sunny explaining the specifics. Sunny had also promised Eust to minimize the use of the word “meow,” though its effectiveness was yet to be seen.

“Meow, Eust, you can choose a training mission. The mission requires completing 10*5000 meters of swimming training within 24 hours. The reward is a slight improvement in physical fitness, and the punishment is losing the ability to swim for 24 hours.”

“Swimming consumes more energy than running, a bit troublesome. Let’s go eat, Sunny. I can already smell the food.”

“Meow!” Sunny jumped onto Eust’s shoulder.

Knowing Eust’s appetite, Shook prepared a hearty breakfast, supposedly made by Millie. Surprisingly, the clumsy little girl had good culinary skills. Well, I might as well have some more.

Since Eust showcased his strength, little Millie started addressing him as “big brother Eust” and watched his sword practice closely, begging him to teach her swordsmanship.

Eust, who did not have any advanced sword techniques, shared his basic moves with her, explaining that mastering the basics was essential for learning more advanced techniques. He emphasized the importance of practicing standard movements.

Of course, Eust didn’t intend to deceive Millie. Sword training indeed requires mastering the basics first. Reflecting on swordsman Zoro’s master Koshiro’s words can confirm this.

This incident also planted a seed in Eust’s heart: to develop his unique sword moves as a trump card, capable of defeating opponents with a single strike, leaving behind a legend like “never looking back at explosions.”

After settling things with Millie, Eust informed Shook that he would stay on Quiz Island for another day and set sail the next day to the next island.

Shook and Millie tried to persuade Eust to stay a few more days, but having already decided, Eust wouldn’t easily change his plans. Without uncontrollable factors, Eust sticks to his schedule.

Eust had already discussed his travel plans with Sunny, deciding everything unless encountering other strategist cats. If they did, Sunny would inform Eust, and they’d plan together.

Having helped deal with the pirate problem and enjoyed the special cheese, Eust saw no reason to stay longer and prepared to set sail. The world is vast, and he wanted to explore it.

Eust declined their invitation to stay, explaining that an adventurer needs constant adventures, and staying in one place wasn’t suitable for him. This set the tone for his decision.

Eust stayed another day to make use of the mission fruit’s abilities, completing the tasks to gain rewards.

After informing Shook and Millie of his training plan for the day, they promised to prepare delicious meals for him, which Eust eagerly anticipated.

This time’s physical training was more exhausting than expected, as swimming consumed much more energy than running.

The intensity of the missions issued by the mission fruit increased, likely based on Eust’s physical condition, with a certain adjustment period.

Overall, mission intensity kept growing, but not all missions followed a linear trend, causing Eust to sometimes find tasks only slightly challenging and other times extremely exhausting.

Completing missions and gaining rewards, along with his personal training, naturally enhanced Eust’s strength. Similarly, Sunny, aiming to be the strongest strategist cat, never slacked in training, growing stronger by the day.

After training, Eust enjoyed a delicious meal without having to prepare it himself, relishing the island’s special cheese with Sunny.

Shook, Beta, and Millie just saw Sunny as a cat with a big appetite. Given the sea’s many strange creatures, they didn’t think much of it.

The legend of the strategist cat tribe likely had very few records, and those knowing their uniqueness might not recognize them. Sunny’s love for food but ability to foresee danger, coupled with his closeness to Eust, ensured he wouldn’t be tempted away by food.

Hiding Sunny’s special abilities had many advantages, and since deciding in Shells Town, they kept Sunny’s uniqueness secret.

Joyful days are always short-lived. The next day, Eust bid farewell to the people of Quiz Island and embarked on a new adventure.
