One Piece: Devouring Fruit Chapter 36

Michion's Heritage

Michion was baffled, and even his companions, who were initially just enjoying the show, were stunned.

What was going on? Was this a dream, or had the world gone mad? Could his comrade be a prince of the North Blue? Just a moment ago, they were joking around, and now it was true?

Tina and Sola were the first to react, their eyes sparkling excitedly.

“Michion, who would’ve thought you’re a prince? Congratulations on finding your family,” Sola and Tina said, their faces beaming joyfully, seemingly happier than Michion himself.

“Michion, congratulations!” Shun, Berigood, and Shaolin Kool echoed, genuinely happy for their friend who had found his family.

However, as the person directly involved, Michion hadn’t fully processed the situation yet.

“Wait a minute, even if it’s just a nameplate, it doesn’t prove anything, right? The world is full of strange things; it could just be a coincidence,” Michion said. Deep down, he was starting to believe it but was having trouble accepting it.

What happened to the “Deserted Island Navy Flow”?

How could it be that just after setting out to sea, he randomly encountered a pirate group capturing enslaved people, among whom was a family member coming to claim him?

Was this the convergence of world lines? The choice of Steins, Gate?

If this were a novel, wouldn’t the readers criticise it for being too dramatic and causing the story to flop?

Considering that if this were a novel, many chapters had already been written since his transmigration, and now a new setting was being added!?

Didn’t the author know that such a plot twist might get them killed?

“Your Highness, honestly, this all feels too coincidental, like a dream. I thought I would be sold into slavery or die at the hands of pirates somewhere in the world,” Adolf said, tears streaming down his face, looking at Michion, who was still trying to make sense of everything.

“But then I met you! This nameplate is proof! It doesn’t lie! It has the unique mark of the Abraham family! That should be enough to explain everything!”

“If you still don’t believe it, once we reach the kingdom of Ishtar, you can verify it again on the ancestral stele that records the Abraham family lineage,” Adolf added, his voice choked with emotion.

Alright, Michion was convinced, though the situation was too coincidental, making him recall a saying from his previous life: “Reality is always stranger than fiction.”

Having accepted his identity as a prince, Michion was now listening to Adolf explain the agricultural and pastoral kingdom details.

The kingdom of Ishtar, commonly known as the Agricultural Kingdom, was renowned for its thriving agriculture and livestock.

First was Abraham Gaius, the king and Michion’s biological father…

Then there was Abraham Lovena, the queen of the Ishtar Kingdom and the mother of Michion’s current body.

According to Adolf, the ancestral stele was not an actual ancestral monument but a special stone tablet made by scientists in the kingdom using the Abraham family’s bloodline. It was initially created by Michion’s paternal grandfather to solidify the family’s status, incorporating a bloodline verification function.

The stele, which could change color when touched by the blood of the Abraham family, served to protect the family’s position and showcase their scientific prowess. However, Michion had his own theories, suspecting it might have been created to verify lineage if there were ever doubts about paternity.

As for how Michion ended up being taken away, after his great-grandfather secured the family’s position, those who sought to usurp power were almost eliminated. But in their desperate final attempt, they kidnapped Michion. Fearful of rescue, they took him to another island, where he disappeared.

The traitorous family was subsequently wiped out, leaving no trace. As for how Michion ended up in the Grand Line and became a wandering child?

Sorry, Michion didn’t know either. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

The body’s original memories were unclear, but Michion could guess that he was likely taken during a storm or by pirates. The ship must have ventured into the Grand Line and then encountered another misfortune or entrusted him to someone who later abandoned him.

What followed were clear memories of living as a wandering child until now. Michion never expected his identity to be that of a prince.

“Is this some kind of divine gift? Or am I destined to live a peaceful farming life?” Michion was bewildered by this strange turn of events.

Despite Michion’s confusion, Adolf was quick to act, requesting Sola and others to inform the ship’s commanding officer, Kuzan, about the situation. Learning that Kuzan and another officer, Yukimura, had previously rescued Michion from Stomach Baron Island, Adolf was even more enthusiastic.

When Kuzan finally arrived, looking sleepy, Michion felt a bit lost.

“Wow, didn’t expect you to have such a background, kid. Yukimura’s favorite boy turns out to be a prince of the North Blue,” Kuzan said lazily, yawning indifferently.

“Mr. Kuzan, you don’t mind?” Michion asked, puzzled by Kuzan’s nonchalant attitude.

After all, his newfound status as a prince might conflict with his ambition to become a Navy officer. Michion was aware of his own potential, and the attention he received from instructors hinted at his promise.

“Relax, the Ishtar Kingdom is a major grain-producing nation. Their primary client isn’t just surrounding countries. Guess who their biggest collaborator is?” Kuzan waved dismissively.

“Uh…” With Kuzan’s hint, Michion would have to be foolish not to understand.
