Yasuo in Marvel Chapter 25

Coulson's Strength

Today is the vampire festival, a day worth celebrating for humans and other species alike.

For most hybrid vampires, this festival is unlike any other. Deacon Frost, the new leader of the hybrid vampires, is hosting a grand blood feast in New York. It’s rumored that there will be a massive supply of fresh human blood, mostly from women and children.

For hybrids who have spent years relying on government-supplied blood, this is unimaginable. Pureblood vampire leaders have always strictly forbidden hybrids from hunting humans. If discovered, the penalty is death, and no one escapes the pureblood vampires’ wrath.

Vampires from all over have responded to Deacon Frost’s call, gathering in New York City on September 21st. The police, usually responsible for maintaining order, are mysteriously absent, turning the city into a vast vampire playground as night falls. All vampires eagerly await the stroke of midnight.

Sitting in the car heading to Chinatown, Yasuo observed the eerie streets through the window. In a short drive, he spotted at least five groups of vampires, each group scanning the streets but holding back, as if waiting for a signal, without attacking the pedestrians.

Seeing vampires without reacting, Yasuo grew restless. As a joyful warrior, having enemies within reach but unable to engage is torture beyond compare. He felt like a wolf restrained in the midst of a flock of sheep.

Passing by a bar, two young girls, who had just left, were about to hail a taxi. A vampire with fully red eyes, clearly starved for days, charged at them. Driven by instinct, he had lost all control.

The vampire punched one girl unconscious and grabbed the other, covering her mouth to stifle her screams. His fangs glinted as he prepared to bite her neck, drawn by the scent of her blood.

A red-clad man appeared before the vampire, yanking the girl behind him with such force she was thrown to safety. A flash of a blade, and the vampire turned to ash.

“Gold coins +17.”

“Tch, just a ranged minion!”

The girl, still in shock, saw the terrifying creature knock her friend unconscious and nearly bite her. At the last moment, a red-clad eccentric saved her and killed the monster.

Coulson, who had just parked the car, witnessed the vampire attack. He was about to draw his gun when Yasuo vanished from the car, reappearing next to the vampire and killing it in an instant. Coulson realized Yasuo had an ability akin to teleportation. He would need to update Nick Fury on Yasuo’s capabilities.

“Miss, it’s unsafe tonight. Go home or call the police,” Coulson shouted from the car, then he and Yasuo continued their mission.

Despite the obvious danger, there were no police cars in sight. On their way to Chinatown, Coulson and Yasuo encountered three more vampire attacks. In one instance, Yasuo couldn’t prevent a white girl from being killed due to his cooldown period.

Coulson’s face darkened. The vampires’ blatant attacks made the government-vampire treaty seem worthless, with no power to restrain them.

“Are these vampires crazy? Attacking humans so openly? Doesn’t your government do anything?” Yasuo questioned.

“This isn’t right. The vampires are unusually excited tonight, and there are far more of them than in past years. Something big is happening within their ranks,” Coulson replied, flooring the gas pedal.

At Chinatown’s Club 73, Coulson and Yasuo entered, finding themselves in what appeared to be a triad gathering. As they walked in, several young Asian men stood up, hands reaching for their waists or inside their jackets.

Seeing Yasuo behind Coulson, the tension eased, and the men returned to their seats. Yasuo hadn’t expected his presence to defuse a potential conflict.

Entering the kitchen, they encountered two white men at the door. Yasuo signaled Coulson to let him handle it, but Coulson ignored him, approaching the men directly.

“Hey, buddy, where’s the bathroom?” Coulson asked.

The men tensed, signaling Coulson to stay back. One spoke, “Get lost. You shouldn’t be here.”

Before Yasuo could react, Coulson threw a cabbage at one man’s face, then lunged, delivering a powerful punch that knocked the other out cold. He then turned to the second man, who retaliated. Coulson, showing his combat skills, dodged expertly and landed several punches to the man’s ribs, incapacitating him in under a minute.

Yasuo realized he had underestimated S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Coulson’s prowess surprised him, and he wondered about the legendary Level 10 agents.

In the kitchen, they found the fridge leading to a familiar passage from the movie. Yasuo knew it led to the vampire recorder Pearl’s lair and the other pages of the Book of Death.
