Dragon Ball: I Will Become an Angel As a Saiyan Chapter 135

The Angel's Transformation

The Angel’s Transformation (Part 1)

Just as Merus was about to activate the Cycle of Time, his staff suddenly vibrated slightly.

Merus paused and glanced at his staff.

“It’s Mohito…” Merus furrowed his brow, recognizing that the Ninth Universe’s angel, Mohito, was trying to contact him.

Why now, of all times?

After a brief hesitation, Merus decided to take Mohito’s call.

“Merus, please hold on a second. Lord Sidra has something he wants me to convey to you,” Mohito said.

“Uh…” Merus was unsure of what to say for a moment.

“No time!” Ren quickly moved forward, interrupted the conversation, and ended the call.

Merus shot Ren a determined look, agreeing that this wasn’t the moment for distractions.

“Alright, I’m starting now!” Merus raised his staff high.

In the Ninth Universe, the Realm of the God of Destruction.

Mohito looked at the disconnected staff, feeling both amused and resigned.

“I actually just got hung up on by a human angel.”

However, Mohito wasn’t angry. He quickly reconnected with Sidra through his staff.

“How did it go? Did you reach Merus?” Sidra asked, a bit tense.

“I did, but it seems they don’t intend to speak with you, Lord Sidra,” Mohito replied helplessly.

Sidra felt increasingly uneasy.

“Lord Sidra, I’ve warned you many times not to be too clever. Sometimes, cleverness backfires,” Mohito sighed softly. “Now that you’ve done certain things, it’s time to face the consequences. Whatever punishment awaits, you’ll have to accept it.”

With that, Mohito ended the conversation.

Hearing Mohito’s words, Sidra’s face turned pale.

At that moment, Sidra felt deep regret.

I really went too far this time!

I just wanted to treat this as a game, to add some excitement to my time as a God of Destruction.

But now, have I trapped myself?

As Sidra pondered this, his mind suddenly went blank, and his body was uncontrollably thrown backward.

Sidra looked bewildered.

What’s happening?

What is this?

Could it be… an angel using Cycle of Time?

Sidra’s expression shifted drastically.

At a distant location…

Cycle of Time!” Merus softly uttered the words.

Whoosh!

In an instant, the staff in Merus’ hand glowed with radiant angelic power.

Ren immediately noticed the space around him twisting and distorting.

A massive, invisible vortex appeared at the scene.

It seemed to have no physical form, only visible to those of the angel race.

Ren glanced at Supreme Kai Fuwa, seeing him scratching his head, completely oblivious to what was happening.

Mosco was the same.

Meanwhile, Mosco’s body underwent constant changes within the vortex.

Images started to flash before Ren’s eyes, playing in reverse like a film being rewound.

In a blink, Merus, through the Cycle of Time, reversed the timeline by one minute.

“Where are Broly and Buu?”

A voice suddenly echoed from afar.

Ren immediately recognized it as Merus speaking from a distant point.

However, Merus was already here, so there couldn’t be two of him. The voice seemed to be a residual energy that spread out across space.

Looking further, Mule had already separated from Mosco’s body and was standing outside.

“Ah… we had quite a fight, but it was all in good fun. They said they were hungry and headed back to meet you,” Mule laughed, his face full of false apologies but with a mocking smile at the corner of his lips. “Sorry about that, I used a big move just now and accidentally sent you to another universe. Hope you don’t mind!”

This was the scene from one minute ago.

Phew…

Merus stepped aside, knowing he had reached his limit of rewinding time to one minute before.

Vados didn’t waste any words. With a graceful sweep of her delicate hand, she twirled her staff in the air.

Whoosh!

The crystal ball on Vados’ staff glowed even brighter with angelic power, continuing to reverse the timeline where Merus had left off.

In an instant, time rewound even further, and the scene of Mosco began to play out again in reverse.

Finally, the timeline reset to three minutes before.

No, to be exact, it had been rewound to four minutes prior, as Vados could add Merus’ one minute to her own ability to reverse time for three minutes.

“Hakai!”

Mosco swung his massive hand forward, releasing a wave of purple-red energy that obliterated the nearby asteroid field.

Seeing the scene unfold, Ren frowned deeply.

“I still don’t see Broly or Buu!” Merus said gravely.

“They may have been affected even earlier,” Vados speculated. “We’ve already reached the maximum time limit.”

“Is there anyone else who can help us reverse time further?” Merus muttered softly.

“Aside from the Grand Priest, I don’t think any other angel can extend the time reversal further,” Vados shook her head gently.

At that moment, they had returned to the scene from four minutes ago, just when Mosco had destroyed the nearby asteroids.

Suddenly, Mule realized that Ren and the others had appeared nearby. His expression shifted dramatically.

How did they get here?

There shouldn’t have been any sign of them.

The last time I saw Camparri use Cycle of Time, it looked just like this.

They must have used it to bring the timeline back to this exact moment.

Which means, in a few minutes, we’ve already met in the future!

Luckily, I’ve already consumed a lot of the timeline’s energy.

This must be the furthest they can go.

Mule quickly pieced everything together, his expression unreadable due to being inside Mosco’s body.

“Ren, what now?” Merus asked, clearly out of ideas.

“Let me try,” Ren replied, taking a deep breath.

Merus was momentarily stunned.

Vados raised an eyebrow, surprised.

“You… want to try? Try what?” Merus asked, confused.

“I’ll try using the Cycle of Time,” Ren said, his expression growing serious.

They had already gone back four minutes, yet still hadn’t found Broly or Buu.

Ren was certain they must be waiting somewhere in an earlier moment.

“When did you learn Cycle of Time?” Merus asked, astonished.

“Watching you use it, it didn’t seem too difficult. I think I can do it,” Ren responded thoughtfully.

“But… even I can’t lay my time reversal on top of Vados’,” Merus pointed out, his shock growing. “Can you really add to it?”

“Merus, enough questions. Let Ren try,” Vados interrupted sharply.

Why are you talking so much at a time like this?

“Oh… right,” Merus suddenly realized, quickly closing his mouth.

Without any hesitation, Vados handed her staff to Ren.

Smack!

Ren caught the staff with one hand.

The Angel’s Transformation (Part 2)

Not far away, Mule frowned, feeling an ominous premonition.

What’s this now?

Are they going to continue reversing time?

Judging from their conversation, both Vados and Merus have already used the Cycle of Time.

Now Ren, that human angel, wants to give it a shot?

He’s just a human angel. I don’t believe he can handle such a high-level technique.

Ren pointed Vados’ staff at Mosco.

Smack!

The crystal ball at the top of the staff radiated angelic energy, instantly striking Mosco.

Mosco didn’t even have time to react before he was hit.

In the next moment, time and space distorted and twisted again, forming a spiral-like vortex.

Seeing this, Merus was once again filled with disbelief.

It’s really the Cycle of Time!

Ren has mastered it!

How did he learn such a difficult technique so quickly?

Vados, too, was surprised, her thoughtful gaze fixed on Ren’s youthful face.

Time began to rewind once again.

Soon, Ren had reversed time back to one minute before.

Smack!

A familiar figure disintegrated into nothingness right in front of Ren.

Ren’s pupils contracted, instantly recognizing the destroyed figure as Broly and Majin Buu’s fusion.

Ren’s brow furrowed tightly.

“So he did destroy them!” Merus clenched his fists, his face filled with anger.

This guy has some nerve.

He dared to destroy my and Ren’s God of Destruction!

Does he really think we angels won’t figure it out?

“This is bad. Their souls may already be destroyed. We might need the Super Dragon Balls to revive them,” Vados shook her head and sighed softly.

“Has Cycle of Time reached its limit?” Merus asked, his mood dark.

“Not yet!” Ren suddenly spoke.

Merus looked at Ren, surprised.

Not yet?

At that moment, Merus didn’t know whether to be relieved or worried.

Your angelic energy isn’t purer than mine.

How are you still not at your limit?

Merus felt confused.

Ignoring Merus, Ren gripped the staff tightly and continued using the Cycle of Time.

Time continued to rewind.

After another 30 seconds or so, Ren’s pupils contracted, and fury burned in his eyes.

Ren saw, with his own eyes, Mosco’s hand plunging into Broly’s chest, stealing the five Senzu Beans.

Broly’s expression was one of intense pain.

In that moment, Ren’s

 heart tightened, overwhelmed by sorrow.

Broly must have felt so helpless then.

I rescued you from Planet Vampa, bringing you into the light, only for you to face such suffering.

“Mosco!” Merus’ expression darkened.

“Merus, calm yourself…” Vados gently advised.

Merus took a deep breath.

“It’s enough, Ren,” Vados said. “We can heal them now and restore Broly and Buu’s bodies immediately.”

“Not enough!” Ren shook his head firmly.

Vados was slightly taken aback.

Merus, too, was puzzled.

Not enough?

While I’m furious too, at least Broly and Buu are still alive now.

As long as they aren’t destroyed, we can quickly restore their life force.

“I can’t let my God of Destruction carry this psychological scar!” Ren said in a low voice, before uttering four decisive words: “Cycle of Time!”

With that, Ren waved the staff and continued using the Cycle of Time.

“Ren, stop! If you keep using the Cycle of Time, your body won’t be able to withstand the backlash!” Vados warned, her voice filled with urgency.

But Ren didn’t respond, his angelic energy gathering rapidly into the staff’s crystal ball.

Time began to rewind once more.

Smack!

Six minutes prior.

Broly was easily defeated by Mosco, who grabbed his head with his mechanical hand and relentlessly punched him.

Broly spat blood from the beatings.

Merus’ anger boiled, and his body trembled.

Vados, however, calmly patted Merus’ back, helping him regain his composure.

Ren squinted, his eyes filled with rage.

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration hit him, as if something within his body had been unlocked.

What is this feeling?

It’s as if I’ve opened a new pathway, unlocking a new potential.

In that moment, everything became clear to Ren.

Ren suddenly realized that perhaps the Cycle of Time was playing a deeper role.

Could the end of the Cycle of Time be the beginning for me?

A thought flashed through Ren’s mind.

“Continue!” Ren softly said, and once again activated the Cycle of Time.

Let me see what lies at the end of time!

“Ren, stop! If you continue, you’ll disappear!” Vados exclaimed.

Ren remained silent, continuing to reverse time.

Time rewound again.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

This time, Ren rewound time back nine minutes.

What does this mean?

Even discounting Vados and Merus’ time reversals, Ren had single handedly turned time back by five full minutes.

Merus was stunned.

How are you able to rewind time for so long?

Vados, too, was visibly shocked, filled with a sense of awe.

Supreme Kai Fuwa looked utterly confused.

Why do I feel like I’m in and out of consciousness?

What’s happening?

As they rewound time to this moment, the scene changed once again.

Both Mosco and Broly had disappeared, clearly not having arrived in this area yet.

Above them, a vast asteroid field now appeared.

Ren quickly scanned the area and called out to Merus, “They’re over there, let’s go!”

With that, Ren returned the staff to Vados and flew swiftly toward where Broly and Mosco were located.

“Ren!” Merus called out, quickly appearing at Ren’s side. “Are you crazy? Why did you rewind time to this point? It wasn’t necessary at all!”

“Could it be…” Vados suddenly flew forward, her beautiful, lively eyes sparkling with excitement.

“You figured it out…” Ren smiled softly. “Later, help me out with this act. It might just push Broly to reach a new transformation!”

“Of course, no problem,” Vados agreed readily, though she couldn’t help but sigh. “However… this may be a very long process.”

“I didn’t expect to evolve in this way either!” Ren remarked with some emotion.

“Vados, Ren, what are you two talking about?” Merus was confused but caught onto the last word Ren had said—evolution.

“Evolution?” Merus blinked, staring at Ren.

At that moment, Merus keenly noticed that Ren’s body seemed to be covered in fine cracks.

“What… what’s happening to you?” Merus asked in shock.

“It’s fine,” Ren replied with a smile.

“Fine?!” Merus exclaimed, incredulous.

“You’re cracking all over, and you’re saying it’s fine.”

“I’ll heal you right now!” Merus quickly grabbed his staff, ready to start healing Ren.

Smack!

Vados raised her hand to stop him.

“Vados, what are you doing?” Merus asked, bewildered.

“No wonder the Grand Priest said you need more training!” Vados sighed, slightly exasperated. “Weren’t you listening earlier?”

“Listening to what?” Merus was now completely frazzled. “If we don’t heal him soon, Ren might—”

“You’re such an idiot!” Vados nearly wanted to punch him. “Didn’t you hear about the evolution?”

“Evolution? Oh… evolution?” Merus still didn’t fully grasp the situation.

“Yes, into a true angel. What else could it be?” Vados sighed with frustration.

“Wait… what?! What?” Merus was completely stunned, looking between Ren and Vados in disbelief.

The Angel’s Transformation (Part 3)

This doesn’t make sense!

The Grand Priest had said it would take 20 more years for Ren to evolve into a true angel.

It’s only been four or five days…

This is way too fast!

I can’t keep up with this at all!

“Really?” Merus asked, now looking joyful.

“There shouldn’t be any problem,” Vados nodded. “In a moment, we’ll stage a scene where Ren ‘dies.’ Make it convincing, with enough emotion to potentially trigger Broly’s latent power.”

Merus was speechless.

After a brief pause, Merus asked, “So, Ren… did you push yourself to use Cycle of Time just to evolve and be reborn?”

“No,” Ren shook his head slowly.

“Ah, to be more precise, Ren sensed the opportunity for evolution while using the Cycle of Time. He didn’t plan to evolve just by using it,” Vados explained with a smile, her elegant eyes twinkling. “The only thing we don’t know is how long this evolution will take.”

“Could it take a long time?” Merus asked, surprised.

“I’m not sure,” Vados said, shaking her head.

“Ren, make sure you put on a good performance. Whether Broly achieves his new transformation depends on both of you,” Ren reminded them. “Don’t mess it up…”

“Got it…” Merus said, unsure if he should feel happy for Ren.

He’s going to evolve into a true angel so quickly.

I need to observe closely and see how this transformation happens!

Whoosh!

The three of them streaked through the stars like beams of radiant light, speeding toward where Broly and Mosco were.

Supreme Kai Fuwa remained behind, looking utterly confused, still trying to process what had happened.

“Wait for me!” Fuwa called out, quickly teleporting to catch up with them.

Ren, Vados, and Merus reached Broly and Mosco in no time. Nearby, another God of Destruction was present—Sidra, from the Ninth Universe.

Sidra was still confused, completely unaware of what was happening.

It seemed that the time reversal had altered his memories, leaving only vague fragments of what had transpired in the future.

Meanwhile, a massive rift stretched across the cosmic expanse nearby, tens of thousands of miles long, black lightning crackling around it, making an eerie crackle and pop sound.

At this point in time, they had returned to the moment when Mosco suddenly started acting independently.

Broly’s body was still under the control of Majin Buu.

Majin Buu was just about to turn Mule into chocolate.

Mosco had appeared behind Majin Buu, delivering a heavy blow and creating the massive cosmic rift.

This very rift had swallowed Ren and Merus earlier, transporting them to the Sixth Universe.

But now that time had flowed differently, those events were unlikely to repeat.

Smack!

Vados waved her staff, and angelic energy covered the rift, rapidly repairing the tear in the universe.

In an instant, the massive rift, once brimming with black lightning, was fully healed by Vados’ power.

The universe returned to calm once more.

Mosco and Mule were stunned, turning to glance at Vados, both momentarily at a loss.

Vados?

When did she get here?

Then Mosco noticed Supreme Kai Fuwa flying toward them from the distance.

“Damn meddlesome Supreme Kai!” Mule muttered through gritted teeth, his expression darkening.

So close!

I almost succeeded in sending the trainee and human angels to another universe!

Now the plan is ruined! And Vados is here too.

This is going to be a problem.

“Hey, wait a minute, Mule, why did Mosco suddenly act on his own?” Sidra asked in surprise.

“Hmph, no big reason—I was controlling him!” Mule huffed, not bothering to tell the full truth as he flew over to Mosco.

Smack!

The hatch in Mosco’s chest opened immediately.

Mule calmly climbed back inside.

At that moment, Mule felt something strange, as if his desire for revenge had faded somewhat.

It was almost like he had already avenged himself.

Mule scratched his head.

What’s going on?

Why do I feel confused?

No, no!

I can’t let this go!

My brother sensed my danger and activated on his own!

Now that we’ve merged, my power has greatly increased.

This can’t end here!

“Broly,” Ren suddenly called out.

At the same time, Ren waved his hand, and a wave of angelic energy struck Majin Buu.

Smack!

In the blink of an eye, Broly was separated from Majin Buu.

Majin Buu patted his round belly, looking puzzled as he stared at Broly.

Why are we separated? Didn’t I absorb him?

“You two came just in time. I have something to ask you…” Mosco suddenly spoke.

“Mosco… you… can talk?” Sidra blinked, shocked. “You’ve been hiding this so well.”

“Broly,” Ren said, flying over to Broly.

“Ren, huh? I’ve got a question for you!” Mosco pointed at Ren.

Smack!

Mosco’s hand touched Ren’s body.

Both Mule and Mosco were taken aback.

They felt like their hand had just touched a soap bubble.

So fragile!

And… it seemed like he leaned into it himself.

In the next moment, something shocking happened.

Pop!

Ren’s body suddenly dissolved like a soap bubble.

Mosco and Mule were completely stunned, their faces filled with confusion.

What… what just happened?

Was he faking it?

Sidra was equally shocked, his pupils constricting as his expression changed rapidly.

Did that human angel just get killed by Mosco? Impossible!

How could he be so fragile?

Broly’s eyes widened as he rushed forward in a panic, desperately trying to piece Ren’s shattered form back together.

But no matter how hard Broly tried, he couldn’t stop Ren’s body from disintegrating.

“Ahhhh—” Broly let out a series of enraged roars, his eyes filled with grief.

“Broly, when I’m no longer around, make sure you eat well, sleep well, and train hard,” Ren said softly, smiling gently as his body continued to break apart.

“Ahhhh—” Broly opened his mouth, his voice hoarse as he stared in disbelief at Ren’s crumbling body.

Boom!

With a loud explosion, Ren’s body burst into a cloud of blood mist.

The blood mist quickly transformed into shimmering light particles.

“Ahhhh—” Broly howled in sorrow, helpless as he scrambled to grasp at the tiny glowing particles that once made up Ren.

But no matter how hard Broly tried to catch them, he couldn’t grasp anything.

“Ahhhh—” Broly clutched his head, his entire body trembling uncontrollably.

Then, as if a realization dawned on him, Broly turned to glare at Mosco with pure rage.

“This… this has nothing to do with me!” Mule, inside Mosco, frantically waved his hands in denial. “He shattered on his own! It wasn’t my fault.”

Broly’s eyes filled with fury, tears streaming down his face.

“This isn’t right! Something’s wrong!” Mule panicked, trying to reason. “Think about it—he’s an angel. He can’t be that fragile! It’s got to be a trick! It’s all an illusion!”

Broly paused, realizing Mule’s words made sense.

How could Ren have been destroyed so easily?

He’s much stronger than me.

Broly was left in a state of confusion.

“Oh dear, Mosco, I can assure you that everything you just saw was real. It’s not an illusion,” Vados sighed sadly.

“You… you’re lying… He couldn’t be that fragile!” Mule protested.

Sidra stayed silent, quietly analyzing the situation.

“Ren isn’t usually this fragile. But he used the Cycle of Time, rewinding time five minutes—far beyond his limit,” Vados explained, sorrow reflected in her eyes.

“Why did he use the Cycle of Time? What happened after that?” Sidra asked, clearly nervous.

After crossing into the world of Dragon Ball, Ren became a Saiyan of Planet Vegeta. At the start, he traded a simple starchy sausage made of technology and hard work for Whis's simplified version of Ultra Instinct. Unexpectedly, he ended up cultivating the power of an angel.

From then on, Ren strived to become an angel.

Years later.

All the gods sat together at one table during the 88th convention of the Universe's Gods of Destruction, Supreme Kais, and apprentice angels.

Beerus suddenly stood up: "Ren, stand up for a moment."

Ren: "????"

Beerus: "Just stand up, it'll be quick."

Ren stood up, puzzled.

Beerus: "I wanted to say that everyone here is trash!"

Ren: "Beerus, sit down. I want to join in too."

Beerus: "You're an angel, why do you want to join?"
