“Welcome back. It must have been tough this time. If it weren’t for you, the significant changes in history would have had a huge impact on Toki Toki City as well. Thank you.”
Trunks stood before Pica and the others, sincerely expressing his gratitude. If the events in that timeline had transpired as they were, Trunks would not exist in this world. The universe might have been ruled by Frieza, the Supreme Kai absorbed by Majin Buu, leading to immense chaos.
“Trunks, it’s our duty. You don’t need to thank us,” Pica replied. Stretching lazily, he added, “After fighting for so long, I’m exhausted. I’m heading home. Goodbye.”
Lucia wanted to call Pica to walk together, but with Trunks and the others present, she decided to visit him at his place the next day instead.
Walking alone on the bustling street, Pica couldn’t help but recall his battle with Goku. Considering Goku’s power level was only around 300 at that time, even if he was controlled, his power couldn’t have multiplied 6,000 times.
Could it be… Takarus? Pica felt a surge of anger at the thought of Takarus.
“Damn, I walked too far.” Turning around, Pica saw his small house 200 meters behind him. He scratched his head, feeling slightly embarrassed, and walked towards his home.
“Click.”
Pica opened the door and flopped onto the bed, falling asleep almost instantly.
“Knock knock knock.”
The sound of knocking woke Pica from his sleep. Groggily, he got out of bed, dragging his feet towards the door, grumbling, “Who is it? Can’t a guy get some proper sleep? If I find out who it is, I’ll… Oh, Lucia, why aren’t you resting at home?”
Opening the door, he saw Lucia standing there. She wore a white cartoon-printed short-sleeve T-shirt and black hot pants, revealing her long, sexy, and fair legs, showcasing her perfect figure. Her waterfall-like hair cascaded behind her, contrasting with her legs.
“Don’t tell me you’ve been sleeping for two days?” Lucia asked in surprise.
“Two days? No way, I just fell asleep.”
“I knew Saiyans had big appetites, but I didn’t expect you to sleep so much too,” Lucia mumbled, looking down.
“…” Pica was at a loss for words, watching Lucia mutter to herself.
“So, what brings you here?” Pica asked.
“Oh, I wanted to thank you for saving me last time, so I’m treating you to a meal,” Lucia replied with a sweet smile. Her face blossomed like a white orchid, her eyes clear as a pool of water, a satisfied joy written on her face, her beautiful smile lifting her cheeks.
“So beautiful,” Pica murmured, entranced by her smile.
Lucia tilted her head and asked, “What did you just say?”
“Nothing, just that a beautiful poem from my hometown suits you perfectly,” Pica turned away, unable to meet her gaze.
“What poem? Let me hear it,” Lucia asked, stepping closer with her hands behind her back, bending slightly towards Pica, accidentally revealing a bit of skin.
Swallowing, Pica took a step back, blushing, “Listen carefully.”
Closing his eyes, Pica gathered his emotions and began, “Clouds think of clothes, flowers think of looks, the spring breeze caresses the threshold, revealing the morning dew.”
He took a few steps forward, looking at the blue sky, “If it weren’t seen on the mountain of jade, it would meet under the moon in the Yao Terrace…”
Lucia was mesmerized by the poem. It was the first poem from the “Qingping Melody” by the great Chinese poet Li Bai, using the “King of Flowers” peony to describe the beauty of Yang Guifei. It suited Lucia perfectly.
“Wow, so beautiful. Even if I don’t fully understand, the words are gorgeous. I feel like I’m seeing a beautiful lady,” Lucia said, closing her eyes and savoring the poem’s impact.
“How was it?” Pica asked.
“Thank you, I feel so happy today,” Lucia smiled, revealing two small tiger teeth, looking even more adorable and charming.
“Didn’t you say you’re treating me? Let’s go, I’m hungry,” Pica said to the dreamy Lucia.
Lucia opened her eyes, puffed her cheeks, and gave Pica an angry look, which might make someone think he had wronged her.
“Um, by the way, didn’t you say I slept for two days? No wonder I’m so hungry, haha,” Pica rubbed his stomach, looking up at the sky awkwardly.
“Let’s go, I’m in a good mood today,” Lucia said, walking ahead with a proud little face.
“Phew… Wait for me,” Pica called, chasing after her as she walked farther away.
At the entrance of a restaurant, Pica looked at the alien language on the sign and a unique logo depicting a figure resembling an Earthling shooting a ki blast.
“What is this?” Pica asked Lucia.
“It’s a symbol the owner created based on a savior figure from his home planet,” Lucia explained, pulling Pica inside.
The restaurant was warmly decorated, giving a homely feel that made Pica feel comfortable immediately.
“The owner is a romantic. The main hall is designed like this, with different sections having distinct decor and food,” Lucia explained.
“I see, hey!” Pica suddenly noticed a poster on a door, depicting an ordinary mountain with a temple at the top. Birds flew by, and in front of the temple stood a monk in traditional Shaolin fighting stance. The door had four traditional Chinese characters: “Huo Se Huo Xiang” (Vivid and Fragrant).
“Lucia, let’s go there!” Pica suggested.
“Hardly anyone eats there. I heard the food isn’t good,” Lucia frowned.
“It might be good. We should be the first brave ones to try,” Pica said, heading towards “Huo Se Huo Xiang.”
“What’s crab?” Lucia asked, unfamiliar with the term as few people in Toki Toki City ate it, except some Earthlings.
Pica and Lucia found a seat inside. A waiter brought a menu and said, “Hello, I’m the owner. You’re the first customers here in ten years, so I’ll give you a 50% discount.”
The owner’s voice sounded familiar to Pica. Looking up, he exclaimed in surprise, “It’s you…”
