Tennoji drove the SUV in the boundless desert, weaving through the dunes to shake off the relentless Ten Commandments gang members chasing them.
However, the desert offered nowhere to hide, and no matter how they drove, they couldn’t wholly escape their pursuers.
Bullets continuously sprayed towards them, and the body of the SUV was riddled with holes.
“It turns out movie car doors can’t block bullets,” Tennoji cursed.
“Damn, why won’t these guys give up!” Dr. Ethan looked back anxiously at the rapidly approaching gang members.
“They won’t stop unless we’re dead,” Tony Stark said, his face grim, knowing they were in dire situations.
Suddenly, the SUV violently shook, lost control, and headed straight for a dune.
“Damn! We’re losing control, and we’re going to crash!” Tennoji shouted in panic.
Before his shout could fade, the SUV had already charged up the dune, flipped in the air, and crashed heavily into the sand.
The immense impact threw all three out of the vehicle, and before they could react, something even more terrifying happened. The dune in front of them began to sink rapidly, turning into quicksand that sucked everything downward.
“Fuck, get out fast! It’s quicksand!”
The three frantically tried to crawl out, but the more they struggled, the deeper they sank. Eventually, all three were entirely swallowed by the quicksand.
Thud, thud, thud! The sound of heavy objects hitting the ground echoed.
“Are we still alive?” Dr Ethan spat out a mouthful of sand.
“We must still be on Earth,” Tony said with closed eyes, seeming to have taken a rough landing.
“This damn sand,” Tennoji struggled out of the sand and then pulled Tony and Dr. Ethan out as well.
“Wait, where are we?”
When the three finally gathered their senses and looked around, they were astonished.
Before them lay a vast underground space, and at the bottom, a mysterious ancient pyramid stood quietly!
“What the hell is this place? Why is there a pyramid here?” Tony widened his eyes, and Dr. Ethan couldn’t believe what he saw.
“I’ve finally found it!!” Only Tennoji was ecstatic, almost like a believer who had seen his deity.
“King-san, do you know what this is?” Tony and Dr. Ethan looked toward the ecstatic Tennoji.
“Of course! This is what I came to the Middle East to find, a place once graced by spirits!” Tennoji’s eyes were feverishly passionate.
“Shima told me that if humanity wants to win the ultimate battle again, we must find this temple. Here lies the Sealing Stone, left by the gods to act as the judge of the ultimate battle. Only the power of the Sealing Stone can reseal all the undead creatures!
Humanity can then win this ultimate battle!”
“Are you saying all this stuff about undead creatures is real?”
Tony Stark and Dr. Ethan were taken aback, feeling their worldview was about to collapse.
“No, you must be mistaken. This is just an ordinary pyramid! It’s normal to find pyramids in the Middle East!” Tony shook his head.
“How do you explain the construction of this pyramid then? Could humans have built this?” Tennoji questioned Tony Stark.
Tony paused, closely examining the pyramid before them. This pyramid was nearly a hundred meters tall, appearing as if formed from a single piece of gold, seamless and flawless.
It still shimmered brilliantly, even buried underground for a long time, looking incredibly lavish! Not just the ancients but even modern people would need help to build something like this under the desert.
Apart from a miracle, no other explanation came to mind.
“Impossible, impossible… How can there be gods in this world?” Tony continued shaking his head, still in disbelief.
“They’re below us, and they haven’t died! Hurry up and follow them!”
As the three talked, they suddenly heard footsteps and shouting from above. Then, bullets began spraying down towards them.
The Ten Commandments gang, relentless as ever, had followed them to the cave.
“Run! We need to get inside the pyramid. That’s our only chance for survival!”
Snapped out of their shock by the immediate threat, they didn’t think twice and quickly ran towards the pyramid. They slid down the sandy slope of the tunnel edge, thankful for the lack of friction due to the sand.
The trio quickly reached the pyramid’s entrance, which was open, allowing them unhindered entry.
The inside of the pyramid was simple; it mainly consisted of a single main corridor. Unlike a tomb, the pyramid resembled more of an altar with few rooms, and its interior structure was quite simple, somewhat reminiscent of the Pyro Regisvine chamber in Genshin Impact.
They rushed along the main corridor and soon reached the core area of the pyramid.
A spacious area was lit with flames that seemed to have been burning for thousands of years!
Around the perimeter were fifty-two giant statues with monstrous designs and various indecipherable texts and patterns.
At the very center, a mysterious stone resembling a segment of DNA was placed on a table.
Around the table were four stools, seemingly cast from gold. The stools were carved with unique patterns and strange texts.
“What is this text?” Tony stared at the characters, puzzled.
“It looks like oracle bone script! An ancient script from China!” Tennoji, looking at the names on the stools, trembled with excitement:
“These two characters should be ‘Dark God’. Supposedly, this is the Dark God’s seat. This is… ‘Orange God’? Not quite accurate, but close enough. This one is… ‘Omnipotent God’? And one name has been erased!
My God, these seats were made for gods! This is a relic of a gathering of gods!”
“A relic of the gods? Oh my, my worldview is collapsing!” Tony pinched his brow, overwhelmed.
