Yasuo in Marvel Chapter 48

Winner in Life

On the highway heading into Sokovia city.

Yasuo sat rigidly in the back seat, unmoving. Sharon Carter leaned against him, while Stephen drove intently, not daring to look back.

At first, the atmosphere was lively. Sharon Carter was safe, Yasuo had successfully destroyed the enemy base, and everything was worth celebrating. Stephen, the chatterbox, added to the cheer.

However, the mood shifted when Sharon Carter insisted that Yasuo sit in the back with her. As soon as Yasuo settled in, Sharon Carter leaned on him, her warm, soft body pressing against his. Yasuo stiffened, his mind racing with thoughts. What did she mean by this?

Stephen, glancing in the rearview mirror, saw the ambiguous posture in the backseat and Sharon Carter’s murderous look.

“Focus on driving, Special Agent!” Sharon Carter’s voice cut through Stephen’s thoughts. The rookie agent straightened up, eyes fixed on the road, shutting out everything happening in the back.

Leaning against Yasuo, Sharon Carter felt his stiffness. On the battlefield, he had been like a superhero, instilling fear in enemies. Yet here, he was like an inexperienced, innocent young man.

From a distance, Sharon hadn’t noticed much. But in the confined space of the car, she realized Yasuo wasn’t in perfect condition. His red outfit was tattered, the air was filled with the smell of blood, and his breathing was heavy, indicating exhaustion. His chest showed signs of being shot, and his pant legs were singed.

Who was this man, really? He was strong and brave, willing to storm the enemy’s headquarters for her. He endured gunshots without showing pain, had amazing speed, powerful whirlwinds, and mysterious healing abilities. Yet, he hid under that terrifying red costume, earning the name “weirdo.” And now, in close quarters, he behaved like a shy, innocent boy. The contradictions puzzled Sharon.

If Yasuo knew what Sharon was thinking, he would vehemently deny being a weirdo or having a fetish for costumes. The nickname “weirdo” wasn’t his doing, and he genuinely was a virgin. He was not yet 17 and preferred to be called “Wind Sword Master.” He still didn’t know how the “weirdo” nickname had spread!

“You performed perfectly today. You did better than I did,” Sharon finally broke the silence, praising Yasuo’s actions.

Yasuo, hearing praise for his performance, felt his battle fatigue return. He had seen too much death. Unlike fighting vampires or Reapers, facing real humans weighed heavily on him. They weren’t just game monsters; they were real people.

“Did I do the right thing? Those people had families, too,” Yasuo voiced his inner conflict.

Sharon was surprised by Yasuo’s question. It was a common symptom among battlefield newcomers—battle fatigue. She hadn’t expected Yasuo to feel this way. Was this his first real battle? Did he do it for her? Sharon pondered.

“You weren’t wrong. They were the enemy. It’s a matter of perspective. To you, they were lambs to the slaughter, but to civilians, they were terrifying beasts.” Sharon tried to console Yasuo, knowing he had to find his own peace.

“But…” Yasuo began, but his words were cut off by another kiss from Sharon. This time, he responded, unlike before.

After a few minutes, they separated, both breathing heavily. Sharon thought this might be the best way to help Yasuo overcome his battle fatigue. She leaned back against him, quickly falling asleep, feeling safer than ever.

Yasuo watched Sharon fall asleep, her body warm and relaxed against his. All thoughts of the battlefield, right and wrong, vanished. His mind was filled with Sharon Carter.

He wondered if this was the legendary “Don’t talk, just kiss.”

He thought about whether he was inadvertently cheating Captain America out of his future girlfriend.

How old was Sharon Carter? She seemed older than him. Should he accept her?

Was there any ulterior motive from a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent getting close to him?

Sharon Carter’s lips were so soft. Kissing felt amazing. Would she slap him if he initiated the next kiss?

Yasuo’s mind raced with these thoughts, envisioning scenarios like marrying Sharon Carter with Captain America officiating, only to have Cap turn into the Hulk at the last moment.

Feeling Sharon’s hand grasp his, Yasuo felt a surge of romantic feelings. Screw it, he thought. He wanted a relationship, and not even Captain America could stop him.

Looking at the sleeping Sharon Carter, Yasuo reflected on how his previous attempt to rescue Heather had failed. But this mission to Sokovia had unexpectedly brought him closer to Sharon Carter. Life was indeed full of surprises.

Stephen, driving up front, couldn’t help but sneak peeks through the rearview mirror. Watching Yasuo and Sharon kiss again, he felt a mix of excitement and awe. This was big news. Upon returning to S.H.I.E.L.D., he could become a legendary figure, sharing the tale of Agent Sharon Carter’s romance with the mysterious red-clad weirdo. It was a sensational story.

Seeing Sharon asleep on Yasuo, their hands tightly clasped, Stephen couldn’t help but drive with one hand, giving Yasuo a thumbs up with the other. To him, Yasuo was not only incredibly strong but also unmatched in his ability to win over women. Winning the heart of the famous Sharon Carter made Yasuo a winner in life in Stephen’s eyes.
