“Wow… The face behind that scary mask is so young,” Sharon Carter laughed at Yasuo after seeing his youthful face, which she found satisfactory.
“Young? Come on, I’m fully grown. Want to see for yourself?” Yasuo, the cheerful and confident swordsman, replied. Inner strength and a sharp tongue were essential for him.
Sharon Carter, not expecting such a cheeky response, flashed a charming smile and said, “Sure! Want to start now? We can ask Stephen to leave for a bit.”
Hearing this, Stephen abruptly braked, stopping the truck on the side of the road.
Yasuo swore that if Stephen left, he would get out of the truck immediately. The air thickened for a few seconds before Yasuo relented. “Why did you stop? We’re on a tight schedule, special agent!”
Ignoring the interruption, Sharon continued with another question. “Red-clothed Weirdo, what’s your real name? You don’t want me calling you that forever, do you? But if you have a special fetish, I can accommodate that too.”
Sharon’s new question left Yasuo dumbfounded. Did she think he had a fetish for being called “Red-clothed Weirdo”? If he found out who spread these rumors, they would regret it!
“Yasuo. My name is Yasuo. Please don’t call me Red-clothed Weirdo anymore; I hate that name. You can call me Wind Swordsman if you want,” Yasuo answered seriously this time.
“Wind Swordsman? Is that the character you’re planning to play, like most young people enjoy?” Sharon now seemed convinced Yasuo had a costume fetish. One “Red-clothed Weirdo” wasn’t enough; he also wanted to be some Wind Swordsman? She could tolerate a little quirkiness; no one is perfect.
Seeing the strange look in Sharon’s eyes, Yasuo realized his explanations were making things worse. Now, she probably saw him as someone with a unique fetish. “Just call me Yasuo in the future. No other names,” Yasuo felt exhausted by the misunderstanding.
The two-hour journey continued with Sharon bombarding Yasuo with questions. Even a fool could see she was trying to learn more about him. With the passionate kiss earlier, Yasuo was secretly delighted. A beautiful blonde with a curvy figure—he felt his chances of a relationship were looking up!
They finally reached their destination in Sokovia city. Yasuo, bombarded by Sharon’s questions and feeling dizzy, got out of the car and appreciated the peace and quiet. Silence was bliss.
Sharon organized their next steps. They would stay at a SHIELD safehouse in Sokovia, awaiting a special plane to take them back to the U.S. The information Sharon held was highly classified, and they had to remain vigilant even while resting.
Yasuo switched out of his costume, looking like Sharon’s younger brother when standing next to her. Typically, men held power outside but were weaker at home. Yasuo and Sharon’s dynamic was the opposite.
Yasuo noticed Sharon acted like a sweet, gentle woman when alone with him, speaking softly and showing concern. However, in public, she was a formidable figure, embodying the persona of a level-nine agent with precision and authority—a cold and commanding presence.
Was this a case of split personality? And what exactly was their relationship?
Were they lovers? Was he just her savior? Or was there something else between them?
New York, USA
While Yasuo and his group rested in Sokovia, Blade, responding to invitations from the U.S. government and the Vampire Empire, joined forces with the Bloodpack to prepare for an operation against the Reapers.
The Bloodpack consisted of eight elite vampires, equipped with the best weapons and trained professionally, leveraging their formidable physical abilities. They were the Vampire Empire’s ace squad.
After using force to establish his command over the Bloodpack, Blade said, “Our target is the secret nocturnal operations of vampires—blood banks, safe houses. The bigger, the better. Where should we start? You decide.”
“House of Pain,” Liza suggested a location for their night hunt.
Outside the House of Pain, Blade looked at the dilapidated slum building. “Here? I don’t see any marks or vampire symbols. Are you sure?”
“Because of Deacon Frost, we’ve had to be more cautious. Some habits have changed, and we need to be extra careful,” Liza explained, somewhat reluctantly.
With the location set, Blade led the way, followed closely by the Bloodpack as they entered the House of Pain. Inside, they found a large gathering of mixed-blood vampires having a wild party.
“Oh my God, what is this?” Blade didn’t expect such a large-scale vampire gathering post-Deacon Frost. The peace treaty explicitly forbade private gatherings, but it seemed the vampires were ignoring it.
“Most of them are mixed-bloods. If you want, you can kill them all,” said the long-haired vampire codenamed Priest, answering Blade’s question.
Upon entering, Blade dispersed the Bloodpack to search for any suspicious activities.
Liza quietly moved upstairs after the group split up, searching for the Reapers’ trail and setting up surveillance equipment. She didn’t notice a shadow observing her from the dark.
A Reaper emerged, covering Liza’s mouth and whispering, “Shh!”
Blade, also upstairs, sensed something was wrong. Pulling aside a curtain, he saw the scene: the Reaper holding Liza but not harming her.
It seemed the Reaper had been waiting for Blade. Upon seeing him, the Reaper said, “Daywalker, did I provoke you? The enemy of my enemy is my friend, or is it my enemy?”
In the downstairs dance floor, several Reapers mingled with the crowd of vampires. Unlike their initial, beast-like appearance in the tunnel, they now seemed to possess intelligence and patience.
As the Bloodpack searched for Reapers, the Reapers were also hunting them, moving with purpose.
The Reapers launched an attack on the Bloodpack, with the long-haired Priest being the first victim. A Reaper ambushed him from behind, sending him crashing into the wall with immense force.
This action ignited chaos. The Reapers and the Bloodpack clashed fiercely, with countless mixed-blood vampires caught in the crossfire, falling victim to the battle.
