On the plane, Stephen sat in a corner, feeling ignored and abandoned. Yasuo, shamelessly, had ditched his little fan to cozy up with Sharon Carter, acting like a couple deeply in love.
“Who was that bald guy earlier?” As a former Marvel enthusiast, Yasuo was familiar with most prominent characters, though he sometimes struggled to match faces.
Sharon Carter, assuming her new boyfriend was jealous, replied, “That was Sitwell, a very reliable guy. With him there, we can rest easy.”
Sharon didn’t casually reveal S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel details. As a level-nine agent, she knew some special matters, such as Nick Fury’s plan to form a secret team, with her new boyfriend, the Red-clothed Weirdo, being a prospective member. Yasuo had already collaborated with S.H.I.E.L.D. several times, so revealing some basic information about personnel wasn’t an issue.
“Sitwell?” Yasuo recognized the name. Wasn’t he the Hydra mole within S.H.I.E.L.D., second only to Coulson in popularity? During Coulson’s “death,” Sitwell had taken over his duties.
Looking at the blissfully smiling Sharon Carter, Yasuo felt conflicted. Should he expose Hydra’s existence? If so, what excuse should he use? More importantly, he had no evidence. Telling Sharon that most of S.H.I.E.L.D. was infiltrated by Hydra spies would make her think he was crazy or an idiot.
Sharon watched Yasuo in silence. Her new boyfriend’s battlefield performance was impeccable, but privately, she really wanted to complain. Ignoring his unusual fashion choices and the nickname “Red-clothed Weirdo,” his self-isolation and sudden zoning out during conversations baffled her.
“Cough, cough…” Sharon cleared her throat to express her displeasure.
Yasuo snapped out of his thoughts. Forget it, he decided. If something happens, he’ll handle it. He resolved to stay neutral and focus on his own happiness, avoiding unnecessary stress. Why bother with all this?
“Do you want more cheese and pizza?” Yasuo changed the topic to food.
Sharon looked at the plates on the table. “Please, you’ve already had four servings of cheese and two whole pizzas. Is airplane food really that good?”
Yasuo got up to get more food, feeling genuinely hungry after not eating since lunch the previous day and undergoing a battle and a strenuous night. The plane’s food was delicious compared to his usual instant noodles.
Suddenly, a loud explosion shook the plane.
Taking only a couple of steps, Yasuo felt the plane’s violent turbulence, causing a rapid descent. He struggled to stay balanced, seeing Sharon gripping the table for stability. Yasuo staggered toward her.
The plane’s intercom crackled to life: “We’ve been hit by an unknown enemy, the tail is damaged, and we’re going down. Everyone prepare to jump. May God be with us!”
The plane was under attack and going to crash?
Yasuo, on his second plane ride ever and in a S.H.I.E.L.D. plane, found himself in a clichéd yet dangerous situation. If he were alone, he could easily use Flash to ensure safety, but now he had to worry about Sharon and Stephen too.
Below, on a small island, Hydra operative Kebo effortlessly hit the S.H.I.E.L.D. plane with a Stinger missile.
Having obtained the flight path, Madame Hydra had set up an ambush, awaiting their target: a young, powerful mutant.
Faced with this crisis, Yasuo acted quickly, using the system’s store to purchase the skill “Magical Journey” from the champion Bard. This group teleportation skill cost 6300 gold coins and allowed a one-way portal to quickly transport the group to a safe location.
Yasuo swiftly activated the skill, creating a golden portal beside him. He pushed Sharon through it first, then turned to get Stephen. The plane, engulfed in flames, was shaking violently, with smoke billowing into the cabin. Straining against the turbulence, Yasuo grabbed Stephen and hurled him into the portal with his abnormal strength.
Sharon, transported through the magical journey, found herself on a safe island in the blink of an eye. The speed and efficiency of the teleportation left her in awe.
“Ahhh…” Stephen tumbled out of the portal, having landed on his back.
As the golden light vanished, Yasuo successfully saved Sharon and Stephen in just ten seconds. Now, he needed to escape the doomed plane himself.
On the island below, Madame Hydra watched the golden portal appear on the plane, connecting to the island. Two figures emerged from the portal.
“I didn’t expect them to have a mutant with teleportation abilities. Kebo, R. Giyera, prepare for combat. Eliminate them!” Madame Hydra commanded her two elite warriors sent by Alexander Pierce.
Seeing the portal disappear without Yasuo’s emergence and the plane still descending, Sharon’s face darkened. Yasuo hadn’t escaped the plane.
Grabbing Stephen, Sharon began to flee. This attack on the S.H.I.E.L.D. plane was no small matter. The enemy surely had an ambush nearby. Her level-nine training kicked in, showing in her tactical maneuvers.
Kebo charged ahead, while telekinetic mutant R. Giyera provided support from behind. The pair, accustomed to working together, were unafraid of facing a level-nine agent. Had they not been ordered to stay undercover by Pierce, they would have long reached such a rank themselves.
Kebo’s actions, though swift, seemed reckless and noisy to Sharon. He made no effort to conceal his movements, charging forward while hurling insults and firing his heavy submachine gun aimlessly.
Sharon’s eyes flashed with determination. Exposing her hiding spot, she fired three precise shots, confident the charging brute was done for. As expected, Kebo’s head erupted with blood, his massive body falling backward.
However, to Sharon’s shock, Kebo stood up again, seemingly unfazed by the headshot. This unexpected resilience made her realize she was dealing with a far more formidable foe.
