“You’re not a mutant!”
Hearing Hawking’s response, Magneto was stunned. But then he started to laugh.
“I always thought you were the best candidate to succeed Charles and me as the future leader of mutants, but it turns out you’re not even a mutant. That makes sense. Besides Apocalypse, I haven’t seen any mutant with as many abilities as you. It’s a pity, really. I’ve always admired you.”
Magneto had assumed Hawking was a mutant since he first saw him at the mutant school, knowing that Professor X could identify mutants. He had never doubted Hawking’s mutant status.
“Mr. Erik, we’ve had our interactions. Before we fight, I want to ask you one question.”
Hawking paused for a few seconds before speaking. Magneto’s answer would influence his decision on whether to kill him. Magneto was Wanda and Pietro’s biological father. Although there was no emotional bond, they were still blood relatives. For their sake, if Magneto didn’t go too far, Hawking wouldn’t kill him. But if Magneto was determined to kill him, then for the sake of safety, he’d have no choice but to eliminate Magneto.
“Alright, ask away.”
Magneto nodded. Mystique was currently controlling Captain Marvel, and he needed some time to regain his strength. If Hawking didn’t attack first, he was happy to catch his breath.
“I want to know if you win, what exactly are you planning to do? Do you really intend to kill all humans and leave only mutants? You should know that many humans have hidden X genes. Even if they can’t awaken their powers, their next generation might be born as mutants. The connection between humans and mutants can’t be severed.”
Hawking tested.
Magneto shook his head.
“If they have hidden X genes, it means they haven’t fully evolved and are defective. There’s no need to keep them. Once I deal with you and Captain Marvel, I will continue to control the Earth’s magnetic field, pushing human civilization back to the Bronze Age. Then, humans will no longer have any advantage over mutants. But don’t worry, I won’t kill all humans. Any humans related to or friends with mutants can stay. And you, Hawking, although you’re not a mutant, as long as you don’t oppose me, considering your siblings are mutants and all you’ve done for mutants, I can spare you too!”
“Alright, I understand now. But sorry, I enjoy modern life and don’t want to go back to the Bronze Age!”
Having received the answer he wanted, Hawking didn’t waste any more time. He bit his finger and pressed it to the ground.
“Ninja Art: Summoning Jutsu!”
A massive summoning circle appeared on the ground, and then three gigantic toads, as tall as ten-story buildings, appeared beneath him. They were the three great toads of Mount Myoboku: Gamabunta, Gamaken, and Gamahiro.
“Hey Hawking, is this your village? Looks pretty desolate!”
Gamabunta glanced around at the ruined city and tucked his large pipe into his waistband.
“Who’s the enemy?”
“Boss Toad, help me hold off that old man for a while. He has abilities similar to the Third Kazekage’s Magnet Release. Be careful!”
Hawking pointed at Magneto in the sky, formed hand seals, and created dozens of shadow clones that rushed towards the Brotherhood mutants holding Storm and the others.
Gamabunta drew his short blade and nodded.
“Leave it to us. Gamaken, Gamahiro, let’s go!”
“Got it, big brother!”
Gamaken drew his shield and trident, and Gamahiro unsheathed his twin swords. The three brothers leaped towards Magneto.
“What…huge toads!”
Magneto was momentarily stunned by the three enormous toads with weapons coming at him. He had seen toads before but never ones this large and armed.
Meanwhile, with the toad brothers holding off Magneto, Hawking’s clones engaged the remaining Brotherhood mutants. With only a few dozen clones, each was full of energy, utilizing magic, ninjutsu, and ki attacks. Most mutants couldn’t last more than two moves against them. Even with Apocalypse’s enhancements, the Brotherhood mutants were no match for Hawking.
Red Hulk was the only one who posed a challenge, so Hawking dealt with him personally. Instead of taking on his unstoppable charge head-on, he launched a Kamehameha into the air and threw him far away using ki manipulation. By the time Red Hulk landed, the battle would be over.
With all the Brotherhood mutants defeated Hawking had his clones lead the captured mutants away, while he returned to the main battlefield.
The toad brothers had been injured by Magneto and forced to return to Mount Myoboku. But this was within Hawking’s expectations. He never expected the toads to defeat the enhanced Magneto. It wasn’t that the toads were weak; they were just at a disadvantage against Magneto. Their weapons and shields were metal, ineffective against Magneto. Plus, Magneto could fly, making it hard for the toads to reach him. And in a city, Magneto had an abundance of metal to control, turning the toads into sitting ducks. They had done well to last this long.
“Hawking, if you insist on opposing me, I’ll have to kill you!”
Magneto hovered in the air, controlling a stream of metal to attack Hawking.
Hawking smirked.
“Finally, it’s ready!”
He had been communing with Kurama while loading the Naruto template.
“Yo, Kurama, about the deal we talked about last time, what do you think?”
“Six months is too long. Once a week!”
Seeing Hawking, Kurama stood up and glared.
Hawking shook his head.
“No can do. I’m not Naruto. I can only manage an hour a day. Once a week is out of the question. Four months. I’ll let you out once every four months!”
