The Pirate: Dark Admiral Chapter 38

A Fateful Encounter

With a simple promise, the Alabasta royal family’s reputation within the Marines soared to new heights. This made the kings of Hisca and Krita envious. They decided to follow Major closely and immediately joined the ceremony, transforming a relatively low-key medal ceremony into a grand event. Even the G2 branch called to inquire about the details.

In the Hero Square of the Hisca Kingdom, the crowd gathered to witness this grand occasion, blocking the area thoroughly. Reporters from significant newspapers swarmed like sharks, smelling blood.

Due to the scandals of the former King of Alabasta and the King of Azka, the publicized version of events was that the Black-Cloaked Pirate Crew attempted to kill the royal families of four nations at a peace conference. Two kings were even killed in the attack. Fortunately, Marine hero Major Rougishudiscovered and thwarted the pirates’ plot, preventing the disaster.

Stories involving war and peace, pirates and Marines, conspiracy and justice are always popular among the public. The death of two kings added to the frenzy, making the public and the reporters go wild.

Seeing this, the King of Hisca couldn’t help but smile. Hisca, with its two major port cities, was incredibly wealthy, but its international influence was limited. This three-nation joint medal ceremony in Hisca was the perfect opportunity to boost its reputation. Therefore, he spared no effort to make the event perfect.

“How much longer do we have to wait? I begged my father to dock the merchant ship here just to see Major Longinus,” said a dazzlingly dressed girl impatiently.

“Yeah, while these Marines are admirable, I choose Major Longinus!” agreed a beautiful girl with a ponytail.

“Hey, are you here because of Major Rougishutoo?” A sweet voice behind them belonged to a petite girl holding a stack of booklets.

“Of course. Ever since Major Rougishusaved me from pirates at my darkest moment a year ago, I vowed to follow him to the ends of the world!”

“You… You were saved by Major Rougishufrom pirates? Why didn’t I have such luck? How romantic that would have been!” The ponytailed girl said enviously.

“That was a fateful encounter! If Major Rougishuhadn’t saved my family, my father wouldn’t have agreed to dock the ship here, losing a lot of money!”

“A year ago? Wait a minute.” The petite girl exclaimed, handing her booklets to a nearby young man watching the scene, then quickly flipping through the top one. “Got it, here it is: In March 1499, Lieutenant Rougishudefeated the Royes Pirate Crew, rescuing five merchant ships from pirates and leaving behind that famous quote.”

The petite girl took a deep breath and recited in a rhythmic tone, “The problems of this era cannot be solved by speeches and resolutions… These problems can only be solved by iron and blood.”

“That’s right! Major Rougishusaid that to those kingdom officials who asked him not to take drastic actions. His strong words are unforgettable!” The girl was overjoyed.

The ponytailed girl gasped, her eyes burning as she looked at the booklet. “Is this the legendary ‘RougishuQuotations,’ only available in a certain mysterious circle?”

“Yes! This is the firsthand information compiled by our ‘RougishuFan Club’ president, Miss Tina!” The petite girl said mysteriously.

“Wow!” The two girls exclaimed in unison, “How much? I’ll buy it!”

Their eyes met, sparks flying as if lightning struck.

“Don’t fight; these are free to help everyone support Major Rougishubetter!” The petite girl skillfully handed out two booklets.

“Thank you, thank you!” The two girls held the booklets like treasures, eagerly absorbing the “knowledge.”

“Phew! Major Rougishuhas so many potential fans. I hope I brought enough booklets today!” The petite girl said happily, then noticed the young man she had used as a makeshift shelf. She quickly apologized, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to put them on you.”

The young man, much taller than the girl, only had the booklets touching his worn straw hat.

“Haha, don’t worry about it.” He laughed heartily, seemingly unaffected.

Despite his words, the girl blushed and retrieved the booklets, noticing the messy red hair under the straw hat.

“By the way, can I have one of those?”

“Hmm, Major Longinus’s charm knows no gender boundaries?” The girl was surprised but quickly recovered, handing him a booklet. “Are you also a fan of Major Longinus?”

“Ah, sorry, I’m actually new to the Grand Line from the East Blue. I don’t know much about Major Longinus, but seeing your admiration made me curious.”

“Oh, then you should definitely learn about Major Longinus! If you understand the power in his words, you might become a Marine hero like him!” The girl nodded thoughtfully.

The straw-hat man scratched his head awkwardly as the girl struggled away with the booklets. “A Marine hero? Well, I used to be chased all over by Marine heroes with my captain.”
