The noise from Abbacchio’s battle was not insignificant.
It wasn’t long after he defeated Mista that Bucciarati and the others, who were searching nearby, hurried over following the sound.
“What?!”
Seeing the shocking amount of blood on Abbacchio, a slight wave of emotion appeared on Bucciarati’s usually calm face.
“Abbacchio, are you alright?”
“It’s nothing serious,” Abbacchio said as he skillfully tore the blood-soaked fabric from his clothes and used the strips to roughly bandage his wound. “It just looks worse than it is.”
“That’s good.” Bucciarati let out a slight sigh of relief before shifting his attention to the ruins where the battle had just taken place.
Soon, he noticed Mista lying unconscious in the debris after suffering a collision. “Who is he?”
“I don’t know this kid’s name either,” Abbacchio replied. “But one thing’s for sure: he’s a Stand user.”
He then recounted how Mista had covered for Lee Sin and how their fight ensued.
“I see… a companion of that Lee Sin?”
Bucciarati leaned down, carefully observing Mista’s unconscious face.
“He’s completely out. It might take a while for him to wake up.”
“In that case, if we want information from him, we might have to wait quite some time.”
“However…”
He pondered for a moment before instructing Abbacchio, “Abbacchio, use Moody Blues to ‘replay’ this kid’s actions from the past twenty minutes.”
“If he’s a companion of Lee Sin, there’s a good chance he had contact with that bald man twenty minutes ago!”
“I understand.”
“As long as this kid met with Lee Sin, Moody Blues can indirectly find out the ‘time’ and ‘place’ where Lee Sin appeared during the replay.”
“Once those two elements are clear, we can trace Lee Sin’s movements.”
Abbacchio quickly understood Bucciarati’s intention.
He immediately commanded Moody Blues to transform into Mista’s form and swiftly rewind to trace Mista’s actions from the past twenty minutes:
One minute ago, he was sitting on the side of the road talking to himself.
Three minutes ago, he was getting up from the ground, holding his slightly swollen cheek.
Ten minutes ago, he was lying unconscious on the road, seemingly just having been attacked by someone.
Twenty minutes ago…
“Uh…”
Seeing Lee Sin “borrow” the motorcycle with a punch, the expressions on Bucciarati and his group’s faces turned a bit strange.
“Hey, hey… he didn’t even know Lee Sin!”
“Did this guy have a screw loose? Why would he lie to Abbacchio to cover for someone who just stole his motorcycle?”
Narancia scratched his head, puzzled.
Everyone stayed silent, no one answering that question.
Because they actually knew the answer — helping the good guys fight the bad guys. Mista’s motivation was that simple.
And the awkward part was, they were the bad guys in this story.
“Alright, alright…”
Bucciarati broke the silence and decisively ordered, “Stop wasting time.”
“Now that we’ve found the target’s trail, let’s follow Moody Blues’ replay and catch up!”
“Understood.”
Abbacchio quickly switched Moody Blues’ replay target to Lee Sin.
Then, looking at the still unconscious Mista, he asked with some concern, “Bucciarati, what do you plan to do with this guy?”
“He doesn’t seem to be related to this matter, should we…”
Abbacchio hesitated to continue.
The organization wasn’t a charitable institution.
While Bucciarati usually appeared gentle with ordinary citizens, he never hesitated to use extremely brutal violence when dealing with gang affairs.
If Bucciarati decided to handle this kid as an “enemy of the organization,” his fate would certainly be grim.
“……”
Bucciarati pondered for a moment before answering, “Take him with us.”
“Take him… where do you plan to take him?”
Abbacchio bluntly asked.
Although it sounded ridiculous, he couldn’t help but worry about this enemy’s fate.
Bucciarati didn’t answer directly.
He bent down, gently lifting the unconscious Mista from the ground, revealing a peculiar tenderness in his actions.
“An unconscious person can’t just be left on the ground.”
“Let’s take him in the car. If it’s convenient, we’ll drop him off at a hospital along the way.”
Following the trail of Lee Sin’s motorcycle, Bucciarati’s group drove off in pursuit.
Not long after they left the almost ruined town, Bucciarati received a phone call from Polpo.
“Bucciarati, how are things?”
As soon as the call connected, Polpo got straight to the point.
“Did the clues from those lackeys turn out accurate? Have you found any trace of that Lee Sin?”
“We’ve found it.”
Skipping the details, Bucciarati reported the result honestly.
“We’ve tracked the target, and we’re in pursuit now.”
“If all goes well, we should meet Lee Sin soon.”
“Hahaha…”
Polpo’s somewhat sharp laughter came through the speaker.
“Very good… Bucciarati, you truly are my most trusted subordinate!”
“Let’s stay in touch. Once you pinpoint the target’s location, report to me immediately.”
“And…”
His tone suddenly turned much more serious.
“Bucciarati, besides hunting down that bald man, the boss has personally given you an order.”
“The boss’s personal order?”
Bucciarati’s expression became serious immediately.
“Please give your instructions. I will do my best to satisfy the boss!”
The elusive boss was revered and feared as a godfather in the entire organization and even the entire underground world of Italy.
Though unaware of the boss’s true nature, Bucciarati held genuine respect for his superior.
However, this respect faded somewhat upon hearing the boss’s unreasonable command.
“It’s simple.”
Polpo relayed the boss’s order.
“The boss wants to know the Stand abilities of you and your team members.”
“He wants us to report our Stand abilities?”
Bucciarati’s tone was conflicted.
Stands were all about information warfare; Stand abilities were the greatest secrets of Stand users.
Revealing one’s Stand ability to others was akin to handing half of one’s life over.
For this reason, the organization had never demanded Stand users to disclose their abilities, respecting the unspoken rule among them.
But now…
“The situation is different.”
“You were just an ordinary combat team, like any assassination squad or demolition team, just a bunch of wage earners.”
“But now the boss has recognized your capabilities and intends to promote you to take over my position, becoming a capo ruling over Naples.”
“At that time, all of Naples will be your ‘fiefdom’!”
“You and your team will be direct nobles under the emperor, truly part of the organization.”
“Bucciarati…”
Polpo first painted a big picture, then subtly pressured with a delicate tone.
“The boss wants to entrust such a significant task to you, yet you still want to hide your Stand abilities from him…”
“Is there any reason why the boss must be guarded against?”
These words were quite insidious.
From another perspective, Polpo had a point.
Even for a minor government job, a thorough background check was required. So how could the boss of the organization promote someone to manage a city without knowing their details?
“Alright… I understand.”
After thinking for a moment, Bucciarati decided to place his trust in the boss.
“Bruno Bucciarati, Stand name ‘Sticky Fingers’.”
“Pannacotta Fugo, Stand name ‘Purple Haze’.”
“…….”
In a hidden corner of Naples, Diavolo carefully reviewed the information Polpo had just sent.
Although he hated to admit it, Diavolo felt apprehensive.
The self-proclaimed invincible dark king had become cautious after witnessing his tragic fate on Rolling Stones.
He didn’t fully trust his power as before.
Polpo, Bucciarati’s squad, and some personal guards rushing to Naples…
Contrary to his usual demeanor, Diavolo decided to use the organization’s resources, going all out to eliminate the threat to his fate.
To be thorough, he even lowered himself to demand information about those “pieces.”
“Narancia Ghirga, Stand name ‘Aerosmith’.”
“These are decent abilities… but none can threaten my King Crimson.”
Diavolo felt slightly relieved.
Then, he continued reading.
“Leone Abbacchio, Stand name ‘Moody Blues’.”
“The ability is…”
“What?!” Diavolo’s face turned grim instantly.
“This ability… is too dangerous.”
