That night, Foxy paid Ichimonji the 5.1 million Berries.
Ichimonji, suspecting something but saying nothing, took the money and then promptly told Foxy not to come back to his shop before kicking him out.
Foxy, undeterred, returned to his dorm with Donald Duck and started dividing the loot.
Now, Foxy and Donald Duck were exposed. It wouldn’t be long before the other pirates in Loguetown learned about them, especially those whose ships Foxy had robbed. A kid and a duck were too conspicuous, and it wouldn’t take much investigation to discover that Foxy was a Marine.
Foxy regretted not disguising himself during the heists.
“Looks like we need to be careful for the next few days,” Foxy muttered, sitting on the bed and rubbing his chin in thought.
Meanwhile, on the other bed, Donald Duck was happily wearing a small metal crown and a necklace, waddling around in front of the mirror, quacking excitedly.
Pushing aside his thoughts, Foxy began to work on developing his Devil Fruit powers. He might dislike trouble, but when it came, he wouldn’t back down, especially since this was just the beginning.
The next day, with the sun barely rising, Foxy was already training on the field. This time, he had dragged Donald Duck along, forcing him to train by scratching the ground with his claws to learn Shigan.
Foxy stayed at the base all day, planning to go out at night.
As expected, many pirates were searching for him, particularly those he had robbed. But Foxy stayed within the base, frustrating the pirates who could only send spies to watch.
Time passed quickly, and Foxy spent the whole day training.
Around noon, the lieutenant who had previously helped him came by to warn Foxy not to leave the base lightly. The news of Foxy’s actions had spread, and the Marines were aware of it too.
Foxy considered whether to pull off another heist.
With a determined glint in his eyes, he made his decision.
“To become stronger, you need to experience blood and death. Are you ready for that?” Foxy asked, walking over to Donald Duck and patting his head.
Donald Duck blinked, not quite understanding.
“There’s going to be danger. You could stay here,” Foxy suggested, seeing Donald Duck’s innocent eyes.
“Quack,” Donald Duck glared at him, puffing out his chest and flapping his wings as if to say he wasn’t afraid.
Seeing Donald Duck’s determined look, Foxy smiled.
“Let’s go.”
“Quack.”
This time, Foxy took nothing with him, heading out bare-handed. Donald Duck, however, still wore a gold necklace around his neck.
As they walked out of the base, Foxy sensed many presences around. He was pleased; many were likely watching the Marines, ready to inform their factions of any movements. But he was certain some spies were specifically watching him.
After all, he had stolen from several pirate ships, and these ruthless guys would want to settle the score. Perfect grindstones for his training.
As soon as Foxy stepped out of the base’s jurisdiction, he was confronted by over thirty burly pirates.
Some carried flintlock pistols, others wielded machetes, axes, and hammers.
Leading them was a one-eyed giant wielding a massive machete, glaring at Foxy with disdain.
“Captain, according to Clank from the Evil Wolf Pirates, this kid stole our money last night. He has a pet duck too,” a small man beside the one-eyed giant pointed at Foxy and Donald Duck.
“Boom!” The giant took a few steps forward, stabbed his machete into the ground, and stared at Foxy as if looking at a dead man.
“Kid, return my money, and I’ll let you off because you’re with the Marines,” the giant growled.
Surveying the thirty pirates, Foxy’s expression remained calm as he folded his arms and sneered, “Are you scared?”
“You’re courting death!” The giant, known for his bad temper, prepared to strike.
“Captain, this place is too close to the Marine base. We shouldn’t fight here,” the small man pulled the giant back, reminding him that Loguetown had three Marine Headquarters vice admirals and several other officers.
“Kid, you better stay holed up in there,” the giant glanced nervously towards the Marine base before glaring at Foxy and turning to leave.
The giant may not have wanted to fight, but Foxy wasn’t going to let him go. He had come out to find grindstones.
“Swish…” The ground shook lightly as Foxy appeared before the giant in the next second, not hesitating to attack.
His fingers tightened, jabbing at the giant’s back.
“Captain, watch out!” Bullets whizzed toward Foxy, but the giant wasn’t as simple as he seemed. He dodged at the last moment, but a bullet still pierced his right shoulder, causing him to fall and scream in pain.
Foxy vanished again, reappearing in midair, stepping on Moonwalk, and coldly glaring down at the giant and his crew.
“Shoot! Shoot him dead!” The giant yelled, clutching his wounded shoulder.
“Bang! Bang!” Over thirty pirates aimed their guns at Foxy, firing simultaneously.
Foxy quickly landed on the ground, flipping and dodging the bullets, which left holes in the ground behind him.
Using Observation Haki, Foxy reappeared in front of a pirate, his Shigan leaving a bloody hole in the man’s chest.
He vanished again, leaving only a corpse behind.
“Shave, Moonwalk, Shigan,” those watching in secret were surprised. They hadn’t expected this kid to know Marine Rokushiki’s techniques.
Bullets whizzed by, but with his Observation Haki, Foxy dodged them all, weaving through the pirates like a ghost.
“Kill him! Kill him!” The giant roared as Foxy moved like lightning, his fingers cutting through pirates with lethal precision.
In just a few minutes, the ground was littered with bodies, leaving only the terrified one-eyed giant standing.
The One-Eyed Pirates, with their captain having a bounty of nine million, were a small-time crew. Together, their total bounties didn’t exceed eighteen million, making them mere small fry.
