Reincarnated in One Piece Chapter 78

Tang An is the Killer, Bukujutsu

“It’s Tang An who killed them, I can smell it all,” Nezuko said. Without waiting for Shinobu and Mitsuri to react, she broke the window, holding Tanjiro’s body, and appeared under the blazing sun.

“Ah…”

A heart-wrenching scream escaped Nezuko’s lips as her body, exposed to the sunlight, began to burn and disintegrate as if subjected to every conceivable torture. Despite this, she did not let go of Tanjiro’s corpse, running through the sunlight with her body charred and burning. She had only one determination: to take Tanjiro home and bury him, then seek revenge.

Behind her, Mitsuri and the others could not bear to watch. However, seeing Nezuko enduring the sunlight and disappearing, they were left with their mouths slightly agape in disbelief.

“How is this possible!”

Mitsuri’s eyes widened in shock and disbelief. A demon… running in the sunlight without turning to ashes was beyond her understanding.

Shinobu and Kanao shared the same astonishment, their faces complete with shock and disbelief.

A few hours later, Mitsuri and Shinobu returned to the Demon Slayer headquarters, along with other Hashira.

The atmosphere was tense, and Mitsuri’s small face was puffed up in anger.

“I don’t believe what the demon said. If Tang An wanted to kill Tanjiro and the others, he wouldn’t have saved them at Natagumo Mountain.”

“Shinobu, what do you think?” Kagaya Ubuyashiki asked, signaling Mitsuri to calm down.

Shinobu, no longer smiling as usual, was frowning in thought.

“Kanzaki Aoi and the others said they didn’t hear any noise, and there were no signs of a struggle in the room. Tanjiro and the others didn’t even have time to react…”

Shinobu’s implication was clear. Initially, she didn’t believe Nezuko, but after careful observation, it was clear that Tang An was the prime suspect. However, she didn’t completely rule out the possibility of a demon, though it was unlikely since demons wouldn’t appear during the day.

“Ha ha… This can be cleared up by asking him directly,” Kyojuro Rengoku said straightforwardly.

“But the problem is, he’s missing,” Obanai Iguro said, feeling a twinge of jealousy as he glanced at the angry Mitsuri. He had a crush on her, but ever since Tang An appeared, Mitsuri had changed.

“Namu Amida Butsu, I’m more concerned about the demon called Nezuko Kamado. Did she really survive under the sunlight?” Gyomei Himejima, with his hands clasped and tears streaming down his face, found it hard to believe.

“Yes, we saw her walking in the sunlight with our own eyes,” Shinobu said seriously.

“The bond of family has surpassed everything,” Kagaya said with a smile, seemingly understanding why Nezuko could walk in the sunlight.

“A bond?”

The Hashira were puzzled.

“This is the greatest power of humans. Because of this bond, she has never eaten a human.”

Kagaya already knew everything from Tanjiro’s mentor. He wouldn’t have summoned the Hashira to judge Nezuko and Tanjiro without this. He believed that the bond between Nezuko and Tanjiro would lead to a miracle in defeating Muzan Kibutsuji. Unfortunately, this was all ruined.

Tanjiro’s death might cause Nezuko to lose control and start eating humans. The bond of family can give great strength, but so can hatred.

“Lord Kagaya, do you believe Tang An is the killer?”

Mitsuri’s heart sank, questioning Kagaya’s stance.

Kagaya remained silent, which was an answer in itself. He had sensed something from his first meeting with Tang An. He wanted to help Tang An as he did with the other Hashira, but time was too short.

Everyone has a past, and the path can lead to different outcomes. Fortunately, with his guidance, all the Hashira had chosen the right path.

“I will find out the truth,” Mitsuri said, standing up and bowing to Kagaya before running out. This was the first time she had been so rude since becoming a Hashira.

“Mitsuri.”

Obanai stood up to follow but hesitated.

“Obanai, go after her!” Kagaya encouraged with a smile.

“Forgive my rudeness, Lord Kagaya,” Obanai said before chasing after Mitsuri.

After they left, the room fell into a heavy silence as the meeting continued. The Demon Slayer Corps now had to face not just Muzan Kibutsuji but possibly other threats as well.

With its inverted spatial structures, the sound of a biwa filled the air in the Infinity Castle, and Upper-Rank Six Daki appeared, kneeling before Muzan Kibutsuji.

“You failed.”

With emotionless crimson eyes, Muzan gazed at Daki.

“By the time I arrived at Natagumo Mountain, the battle was already over. Perhaps Lower Rank Three has been killed by the Demon Slayer Corps,” Daki reported respectfully, sweat forming on her smooth forehead.

“Rui is not dead; I can still sense him.”

Muzan turned away, continuing, “Rui and the demon named Nezuko have undergone significant changes. I give you ten days to find Rui.”

“Yes!”

Daki lowered her head, accepting the order.

“Go!”

The sound of the biwa echoed, and Daki disappeared.

Soon, five Lower Rank demons, Enmu, Rokuro, Wakuraba, Mukago, and Kamanue, also received orders from Muzan to find Nezuko.

Meanwhile, the other five Upper-Rank demons were scattered in all directions, searching for Tang An!

Outside, the undercurrents surged, but Tang An focused on his daily training.

Tang An stood under a 40-meter waterfall in a mountainous area, enduring its pressure. He had been standing there for an hour, his body bruised and reddened by the powerful force of the waterfall.

When the time was right, Tang An left the waterfall and sat on a rock by the river, drawing his golden Nichirin Blade and using Ki to activate Thunder Breathing, trying to increase the sword’s temperature.

Previously, it had only reached around ten degrees, but this time, as Tang An intensified his power, the temperature of the Nichirin Blade continued to rise, reaching twenty degrees.

However, twenty degrees seemed a threshold, as it stagnated there.

Using Ki allowed Tang An to master his power on a new level.

Time passed like sand through an hourglass, and three months passed in the blink of an eye.

During these three months, Tang An had isolated himself, focusing solely on training.

Each month we brought three new chances for the dice rolls, yielding a bag of sea salt, a bucket of Golden Dragon Fish oil, and a bottle of aged vinegar.

In the mountain stream, Tang An sat cross-legged, his body suddenly levitating, surrounded by an invisible energy—Ki.

Over the three months, Tang An discovered that by spreading Ki throughout his body, he could defy gravity and move freely in the air.

He didn’t need Moonwalk to fly; this ability, resembling the Bukujutsu from Dragon Ball, was far superior.

Despite only three months of training, Tang An felt renewed.

Hovering cross-legged in the air, Tang An lit a cigarette and took a deep drag, exhaling smoke through his nostrils.

Dressed in a white T-shirt and green swim trunks over his elastic boxers, he felt it was time to act after being cooped up for three months.

He wondered what the situation outside was like!
