“Tell me the general whereabouts of the other Twelve Kizuki,” Tang An flicked his cigarette ash, staring at the panicked Enmu.
“How could I possibly know that?” Enmu retorted, his headless body beginning to melt and merge into the train. He aimed to become one with the train, allowing him to consume this opponent later. He hadn’t even seen how the other had attacked, and he felt a sense of impending doom. Fortunately, the opponent hadn’t used a Nichirin Blade; otherwise, he would be dead by now.
“Don’t demons share information among themselves?” Tang An placed his Nichirin Blade in front of Enmu, mocking him. “You know what this is, right?”
“Yes… I know!” Enmu swallowed hard, staring at the golden lightning-like Nichirin Blade. This guy was likely a practitioner of Thunder Breathing. He might even be a Hashira. Enmu hadn’t expected a Hashira to be this powerful.
“Don’t waste your efforts. Even if you merge with the train, I can still find where your true body is hiding,” Tang An said calmly, watching Enmu’s headless body disappear.
“You…” Enmu’s face stiffened. How did this guy know his abilities so well? He even knew he was trying to merge with the train.
“Your Blood Demon Art involves dreams, right? Show me that technique where countless eyes appear, rapidly putting people into a dream state. The one where you need to commit suicide to wake up,” Tang An nonchalantly flicked his cigarette ash.
“Who… who are you?” Enmu was truly panicked now. Sweat poured down his forehead. This guy had calculated all his tricks before he even started. Enmu felt highly unsafe.
“Blood Demon Art: Forced Sleep – Hypnotic Eye!” Enmu, his face twisted in rage, activated his Blood Demon Art. Instantly, countless eyes appeared all over the carriage. Anyone who looked at them would fall into a deep sleep. But Tang An simply closed his eyes. Enmu took this opportunity to escape, his head quickly merging into the train’s engine. His body was already fully integrated with the train, making it impossible to kill him unless his hidden spine within the train was found. His mental state was on the verge of collapse earlier, but merging with the train calmed him down. He realized this might be the opponent’s tactic.
Tang An hadn’t attacked immediately, allowing Enmu to use his abilities. This was because Tang An believed Enmu’s abilities, such as meditation, might help with his training. He wanted to understand them as much as possible for better control later.
Closing his eyes, Tang An stood up, heading for the engine room. With his Ki-sensing ability, the opponent’s presence was as clear as a firefly at night.
“Sleep!” “Sleep!” The carriage was filled with eyes and a whisper urging Tang An to sleep. He wouldn’t be affected if he avoided looking at the eyes. However, the hypnotic whispers disgusted Tang An, especially in a male voice. If it were a seductive female voice, it might be bearable. But a male voice was just unacceptable.
In the engine room, Enmu was becoming more and more panicked. The opponent perfectly avoided his eyes, and the whispers had no effect. Moreover, the opponent was heading straight for him. His Blood Demon Art was useless.
“Bang! Bang!” The iron door continually deformed under each of Tang An’s kicks, causing Enmu’s heart to race. Finally, the iron door, unable to withstand the force, deformed and was kicked off. Behind the iron door was a small space enveloped by fleshy walls covered with countless eyes. If Tang An opened his eyes, he would be hypnotized into a dream.
“Are you coming out by yourself, or should I pull you out?” Tang An, eyes closed, facing the central spot in the fleshy walls where Enmu’s actual body was hidden. To be honest, Enmu was extremely panicked.
“Crack.” Tang An drew his Nichirin Blade, the blade surrounded by golden lightning. It then turned red as the temperature rapidly increased, and he stabbed it into the ground. With Enmu’s scream, Tang An cut through the fleshy walls, his left hand hardening and glowing red like a hot iron. He grabbed Enmu’s spine and yanked him out. The scent of burnt flesh filled the air as Tang An pulled out Enmu’s entire spine and head. Enmu’s cells couldn’t regenerate the damaged area due to the intense heat.
Tang An bit his cigarette, his correct hand hardening into a blade, and separated Enmu’s head from his spine. Then, he took Enmu’s head back to his previous seat. Placing the terrified head on the table, Tang An exhaled a puff of smoke as if he had done something trivial.
“If you satisfy me, I won’t kill you.”
“Wha… what do you want!” Enmu, unable to stop trembling in fear, still tried to use his Blood Demon Art, causing more eyes to sprout around him. He hoped Tang An would open his eyes. Enmu could force him into a dream and potentially turn the tide if he did.
“Follow me for now,” Tang An said, seemingly unaware, opening his eyes to meet Enmu’s gaze. The eyes on the table also fixated on Tang An.
“Haha… So what if you’re powerful? Aren’t you still under my control?” Seeing Tang An staring at him, motionless, Enmu believed he had succeeded.
“What nonsense are you thinking?” Tang An suddenly said, looking at Enmu like he was an idiot. Enmu’s smile froze, his eyes filled with disbelief.
“You… you…”
“Your Blood Demon Art has a significant flaw. As long as you kill yourself in the dream, you can break free,” Tang An explained, raising his left hand, hardening it into a blade, and slicing Enmu’s head in half. Brain matter splattered on the table, yet Enmu still didn’t die.
“Want to taste death?” Tang An’s index finger hardened, becoming crystal clear like jade. A flash of golden lightning surrounded it, heating it until it glowed like a red-hot iron. Slowly, he pressed it into Enmu’s left eye. With a scream of terror, the scent of burning flesh filled Tang An’s nose.
“Spare me… spare me…” Enmu could feel the left side of his face losing sensation, his cells rapidly dying. If the cells in his entire head died, he would be truly dead. The fear of death overwhelmed his ability to think.
But Tang An didn’t stop, increasing the temperature of his left hand until Enmu’s left side was thoroughly cooked. Enmu was now left with only the right side of his head, regenerating slowly.
“Haha… There’s the scent of a demon,” a cheerful laugh echoed, accompanied by a door flying open. Standing there was Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, with his yellow and red hair, sharp eyebrows, and piercing eyes. He had come to deal with the demons on the Infinite Train.
However, in the original story, he would die here.
“It’s you.” Seeing Tang An, Rengoku’s face showed surprise and unexpected delight. He hadn’t expected to meet the man who had disappeared for three months.
“Long time no see,” Tang An smiled.
“Did you kill Tanjiro and the others?” Rengoku’s face turned serious.
“Yes.”
Rengoku hadn’t expected Tang An to admit it so readily. He immediately hardened his expression and said firmly, “Come back and confess your crimes.”
