“Quite unexpected!” Akaza was genuinely surprised as he looked at Tang An holding Kyojuro Rengoku’s severed head. He couldn’t comprehend the scene before him.
Upon seeing Tang An, Akaza immediately recognized him as the human Lord Muzan had ordered all Upper Moons to kill. Wasn’t this human supposed to be a part of the Demon Slayer Corps?
Akaza also recognized the head Tang An was holding—it was the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku. But what was going on now? Was it an internal conflict, and it was a fatal one at that?
Tang An casually tossed Rengoku’s head aside, his patterned eyes scanning Akaza up and down with an air of arrogance and conceit.
“I’ve been looking for you for three months, and I’ve finally found you,” Akaza said, his voice tinged with excitement. All the Upper Moons had been searching for Tang An for the past three months, but he had vanished as if he had never existed. Just now, Akaza had received orders from Muzan to kill the Flame Hashira on the Infinity Train. Luckily, he was nearby, leading to this unexpected encounter.
“I’m happy to see you too,” Tang An grinned, showing his teeth.
With a resounding boom, the ground beneath Akaza’s feet shattered as he launched his attack.
“Destructive Death: Compass Needle.”
Akaza’s Blood Demon Art activated, and he became a whirlwind, tearing through the ground and appearing before Tang An. His punch, imbued with immense power, was unstoppable.
Tang An didn’t dodge. He stepped forward, meeting Akaza’s punch head-on without even using his hardening ability. The resulting shockwave was tremendous, forcing Tang An’s feet into the ground and causing him to slide back. His right arm shattered from the elbow, bone piercing through flesh, blood pouring out. It was a gruesome sight.
The excruciating pain shot through his entire body, but Tang An merely frowned slightly. Akaza’s Blood Demon Art was formidable, akin to enhancing martial arts with demonic energy, resulting in tremendous destructive power.
Multicolored lines extended from the steam, and Tang An’s right arm quickly regenerated. On the opposite side, Akaza’s fist was also bleeding, and a finger bone had broken—however, such injuries healed in just a couple of breaths.
“You’re not a normal human,” Akaza exclaimed, astonished by Tang An’s extraordinary regenerative abilities—something no human should possess.
“I love battles where every punch lands,” Tang An said, shaking his hand. Such physical combat was the fastest way to improve his skills. Akaza’s martial arts were more refined than Muzan’s, making him an excellent opponent to test Tang An’s mastery of “Ki” over the past three months.
Cracking sounds echoed as Tang An activated his Thunder Breathing with “Ki,” surrounding himself with golden lightning. The ground beneath his feet cracked, and energy waves radiated from him. Feeling Tang An’s violent aura, Akaza’s blood boiled with excitement.
“Destructive Death: Compass Needle, Technique Development,” Akaza said, stepping forward. The ground shook as a twelve-point snowflake pattern resembling a yin-yang symbol appeared around him, radiating azure silver energy.
This was the core of his Blood Demon Art, indicating that Akaza would fight at full strength. His energy surged.
Their patterned eyes met, and Tang An disappeared in a flash of golden lightning, while Akaza, surrounded by the twelve-point snowflake pattern and azure silver energy, became a streak of light.
Blinding light and deafening collisions ensued as their fists clashed. Tang An still didn’t use hardening, and blood splattered as his flesh was torn.
The ground cracked, forming a ten-meter-wide crater. They reappeared thirty meters away, their kicks colliding, sending dirt flying and the earth breaking apart.
“Destructive Death: Air Type.”
A massive storm erupted as Akaza launched six punches, merging into one due to his speed. The compounded destructive force shattered Tang An’s entire right arm, leaving only bone fragments.
Tang An remained unfazed, countering with a kick to Akaza’s chest. The sickening sound of cracking bones followed as Akaza’s chest caved in, a shockwave tearing through the ground behind him.
Akaza flew like a cannonball, causing explosions along his path. Tang An’s right arm began to regenerate with vibrant lines of “Ki,” surrounded by lightning and steam.
“Ha ha…” At the end of the trench, Akaza spat out his organs, his chest returning to normal. His eyes burned with excitement as he looked at Tang An.
Tang An’s brow furrowed. Compared to Akaza’s regeneration, his own was much slower.
“Destructive Death: Leg Type, Crown Splitter.”
The surrounding dirt flew as Akaza appeared before Tang An, delivering an upward kick to Tang An’s chin with explosive force.
Tang An leaned back, countering with a kick. Akaza swiftly dodged, leaping to avoid Tang An’s attack, then stomped toward Tang An’s chest.
Tang An twisted his body, supporting himself with one hand and blocking with the other, feeling the immense force. Suppressing the taste of blood in his throat, he kicked at Akaza’s abdomen.
Akaza blocked with his knee in a flash, creating a storm that lifted the ground. Tang An flew back, flipping several times before landing with his feet embedded in the ground, skidding three meters.
Akaza also flipped several times, crashing into a hill and causing numerous cracks.
Steam billowed from Tang An’s body, with golden lightning occasionally flickering, giving him an otherworldly and sinister appearance.
Akaza, standing amidst the chaotic scene, still projected his twelve-point snowflake pattern and azure silver energy.
“Become a demon! You’ll grow even stronger,” Akaza urged. “That lord can grant you immortality.”
Tang An didn’t respond. Instead, he simply beckoned with his finger.
Akaza didn’t get angry; instead, his face twisted with anticipation.
“Destructive Death: Leg Type, Explosive Flurry.”
Akaza appeared suddenly, left foot rooted to the ground, while his right leg unleashed a flurry of kicks at Tang An, moving like a flash of light.
Tang An didn’t dodge, standing on one leg and countering Akaza’s attacks. However, this time, he used his hardening ability.
With hardening, Tang An’s offensive and defensive capabilities surged. As he exchanged blows with Akaza, he no longer sustained severe injuries.
“Destructive Death: Leg Type, Flying Planet Thousand Wheels.”
The more they fought, the more excited Akaza became. His blood boiled as he transformed into a streak of azure silver light, circling Tang An with elusive kicks like shooting stars.
Tang An stood his ground; his feet hardened, moving with Akaza’s every motion. Shockwaves continuously radiated from their clashes, expanding the crater.
Sand and rocks flew as the ground shook violently, their destructive power escalating.
In a dazzling display, they exchanged rapid blows, their bodies transforming into weapons. Tang An punched Akaza’s left face, while Akaza struck Tang An’s right face. Half of their faces disappeared, exposing raw flesh and spraying blood like fountains.
They tumbled across the ground, Tang An forcing himself to control his body, using his hands to stabilize and slide, steam rising from him.
Opposite him, Akaza crashed into a hill, coughing blood.
