“Next week is the final exam, so everyone should use the weekend to review thoroughly,” Mokutsuki reminded the class during the last period on Friday.
There will be no classes next week. Exams will run from Monday to Wednesday, followed by a break.
“Another vacation coming up.”

With the final exams approaching, the students in the classroom began discussing their plans.
“Mokutsuki-sensei, will there be special training during this break? Has it been confirmed?” Gai asked.
He wasn’t worried about not making it into the top eight; he had the advantage of participating in special training and hadn’t slacked off in his daily practice.
“It’s confirmed. There will be special training after the semester ends. Starting three days after the exam results come out, selected students will be notified in advance by the school,” Mokutsuki explained.
The intern program wouldn’t interfere with the exceptional training; both would proceed simultaneously.
“Will it still be you teaching, Mokutsuki-sensei?” Shinyu asked, voicing his primary concern.
If someone other than Mokutsuki were in charge, his expectations would drop. After all, a different teacher might not teach as effectively as Mokutsuki.
“This time, I won’t be in charge of the special training. I have other matters to attend to,” Mokutsuki replied.
“But don’t worry, there will be three teachers for this special training. The school takes it very seriously.”
Sarutobi Hiruzen had arranged for two additional teachers to ensure that the training would be up to standard, given that Mokutsuki’s teaching might be superior to others.
“Ah, so we won’t be seeing you for a while, Mokutsuki-sensei,” Akimichi Kurama said with some disappointment.
“I’ll try to visit and check on the special training if I have time,” Mokutsuki smiled and said.

“This break, Obito and Guy won’t participate in the special training. Instead, they’ll experience the work of a ninja as interns,” Mokutsuki announced.

Obito and Gai were both focused on different aspects of the news.
“Mokutsuki-sensei, does experiencing ninja work involve completing missions?” Gai asked.
“That’s right,” Mokutsuki nodded.
“But because they are intern ninjas, they’ll only be assigned lower-level missions,” Mokutsuki added.
“Will they receive payment for missions just like regular ninjas?” Gai asked excitedly.
If that’s the case, Gai thought it would be great; he could use his efforts to contribute financially to his family.
“The payment will be the same as for regular ninjas,” Mokutsuki smiled.
“Is it only me and Guy? What about Lin and Shisui?” Obito inquired.
“Intern ninjas are usually fourth-year students, so Shisui, being a first-year student, cannot participate.”
“Intern ninja slots are also limited to a small number of fourth-year students. Lin was not selected,” Mokutsuki added.
“I see. That’s really a pity,” Obito said with regret.
Being able to experience ninja work in advance was a good opportunity for Obito; he could earn money and become an excellent ninja faster.
“It is a bit unfortunate, but there’s nothing we can do about it. Please share your experiences with us when you return,” Nohara Lin said with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Obito felt even more regretful. It would have been perfect to be in the same class as Lin; doing missions together would have allowed her to see his abilities more closely.
“Mokutsuki-sensei, if there are three students per class, who will the other person be?” Obito asked curiously.
“You’ll find out then. It’s someone you know,” Mokutsuki said with a smile.
“Someone I know? Uchiha Itachi? Or Shiranui Genma?”
Obito named several candidates, but Mokutsuki shook his head each time. Obito scratched his head and gave up asking further, as the range of people he knew was too broad.
“Just as long as it’s not Kakashi,” Obito thought.
He felt it was impossible for Kakashi, who had graduated years ago, to participate in the ninja school internship.
“Remember to review thoroughly when you get home. There’s also the final exam before the internship,” Mokutsuki reminded me.
“Ah, I almost forgot about the exams. That damn Shadow Clone wouldn’t listen to me about reviewing,” Obito groaned.
Though Shadow Clones also experienced the pain of studying when dispelled, it was fleeting, while his study pain was ongoing.
“Keep it up. Improving practical skills is important, but don’t neglect theory,” Lin said softly.

Obito familiarised himself with the natural transformation of his breathing technique, while Guy and Shisui engaged in combat training, and Lin practised ninjutsu.
“Fire Style: Phoenix Fire Jutsu!”
Obito formed hand seals with his left hand, holding four kunai in his right hand. With a single seal, he released the jutsu, causing the flaming kunai to create small craters on the ground.
“I finally won’t make mistakes anymore. Performing jutsu with a single hand seal,” Obito said with great satisfaction.
“Leaf Whirlwind!”
“Leaf Great Whirlwind!”
“Leaf Strong Whirlwind!”
Using Rock Breathing at full power, Guy attempted to disrupt Shisui’s rhythm with fierce attacks.
Under Guy’s immense strength, trees kept falling, and the crashing sound continued. Despite this, Shisui remained calm, using Body Flicker Technique to evade and wait for an opening.
Looking at the devastated forest, Mokutsuki thought he would need to find a more open area for their training in the future, or the trees would just keep thinning out.
Mokutsuki used his Assessment Technique to check their progress with the breathing techniques. Shisui had reached ninety-seven, just three points away from mastery, while Guy had reached eighty-two, needing eighteen more proficiency points.
“This time, Obito is likely to win,” Mokutsuki speculated.
Unless Obito made a significant mistake, Guy would struggle to win, given his current progress with the breathing technique.
However, regardless of who won, their theoretical scores were too average to achieve a perfect score.
