As night fell, Pica saw Logan off, reassuring him not to lose hope. He reminded Logan that the world is full of unique individuals and that one day he would meet someone who could truly guide him in his training.
Pica glanced at the star-filled sky before heading back inside. “Jarvis, I’m going to train. If anyone comes looking for me, please ask them to wait,” he said, then muttered to himself, “But I doubt anyone will come; I don’t know many people here.”
Entering the basement, Pica removed his gravity bracelet. Regardless of where he was, Pica was always training. The bracelet exerted fifty-two times gravity, but he could now withstand up to sixty times gravity.
He activated the gravity device, setting it to sixty times gravity, and began his practice. He alternated between different martial arts styles—sometimes using Wing Chun’s Siu Nim Tau and Chum Kiu, other times using Bajiquan’s six major stances, and occasionally practicing the expansive movements of Piguaquan.
Suddenly, Pica’s movements slowed, transitioning into a fluid, cohesive flow of pushing and pulling. His punches seemed to generate a tangible force, creating a misty vapor that surrounded him, stopping the swiftly rotating wooden dummy in its tracks. When he finished, the vapor vanished as if it had never existed.
Opening his eyes slowly, Pica appeared calm, almost unaware of what had just transpired. “That feeling was incredible. Was that what martial artists call unity with the heavens?” he wondered, closing his eyes to try and recapture the sensation.
“No, it seems I got lucky and stumbled into that state. But if I can enter it once, I can do it again,” he mused, smiling.
“Zing, zing, zing,” dozens of lasers fired at Pica, which he easily dodged, shutting down each training robot as he moved. In no time, all the robots were deactivated.
Nodding in satisfaction, Pica thought, “Good progress. This time I’ll try seventy times gravity. No, I’ll push myself to a hundred times gravity. With so many powerful enemies in the Dragon Ball world, a complacent attitude will get me killed.” He thought of Takarus, the incredibly strong Saiyan, and realized he still had a long way to go.
Setting the gravity device to one hundred times gravity, Jarvis voiced his concern, “Master, are you sure you want to try one hundred times gravity? You might not be able to withstand it.”
“Don’t worry. If I can’t handle it, you’ll be here to assist,” Pica reassured him with a smile.
As the gravity increased, Pica’s body strained under the immense pressure, his muscles bulging, and veins standing out prominently. He felt his bones creaking under the stress, and blood mixed with sweat dripped from his pores.
Despite the pain, Pica gritted his teeth, drawing blood from his gums. Jarvis, seeing Pica’s agonized expression, moved to shut off the gravity device.
“Jarvis… stop. I can handle it,” Pica shouted.
“But—”
“Don’t worry, I’ll manage,” Pica insisted, taking slow, deliberate steps around the training room. Each step elicited groans from his bones. He fell to his knees, supporting himself with his hands, trying to stand.
“Ah…” Pica roared, standing up slowly, blood trickling from his nose and eyes bloodshot. He trembled but remained determined.
“I will endure,” he vowed, inching forward. After an hour of adjusting, Pica could move in the one hundred times gravity, though his pace was akin to an elderly man.
Standing in the gravity room, drenched in sweat and blood, Pica decided, “I’ll start with basic exercises.”
“One, two, three…” Pica counted, doing push-ups with clenched teeth.
“Two… two hundred!” At the two hundredth push-up, Pica collapsed, panting heavily. Jarvis moved to turn off the gravity device again, but Pica muttered, “Don’t… turn it off. Just… let me sleep.”
With that, Pica closed his eyes and began snoring. Jarvis, though an AI, was perplexed. Checking Pica over, he found no serious injuries aside from the blood seeping from his pores. Jarvis cleaned the dried blood, fed Pica some nutrient fluids, and then powered down, awaiting Pica’s awakening.
After several hours, Pica awoke and resumed his arduous training.
Meanwhile, in the Time Nest, Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time discussed something with serious expressions.
“They’re moving to that time period.”
“Yes, it was unexpected. Fortunately, we reviewed all the documents today, or we wouldn’t have discovered this,” the Supreme Kai of Time said, holding a pale yellow book titled “The End and the Beginning.”
“Ha!” In a dojo, a young man wearing sunglasses and a martial arts uniform sparred with another man wearing a crane hat, surrounded by fellow disciples. The two fought fiercely, executing moves like White Crane Spreads Wings and One-Inch Punch.
As they battled, two streams of black energy entered their bodies, making them fight with increased ferocity. Their attacks became wild, and they began launching energy blasts indiscriminately, forcing their peers to dodge in panic.
Their fellow disciples, faces filled with anger, yelled at them, but the two seemed oblivious, their attacks growing more intense. They soon became covered in injuries. Another wave of black energy hit them, causing their muscles to swell and their eyes to glow red.
A powerful punch and kick shattered the dojo. An elderly man, seated in meditation, opened his eyes and, moving like lightning, restrained the two with golden electrical currents.
“That’s the Master’s Universal Shocking Palm!” a disciple exclaimed in excitement.
Trapped, the two looked at the elderly man, struggling as they said:
“Mutaito… Master!!”
