By the light of the orb and the reflection on the blade, Agent 006 saw their attacker.
A giant standing about two and a half meters tall, the figure was shirtless, wielding a massive sword with one hand and wearing a filthy leather apron. The most striking feature was the head, covered by a huge triangular helmet. There were no eyes, no face, and it was impossible to tell if the creature even had a head.
The enormous triangular helmet was stained with blood and rust, obscuring its original color.
“Open fire!” Bella shouted, raising her shotgun and firing at the Pyramid Head.
Without hesitation, 006 rolled to the side, then shouldered his rifle and fired in a tactical stance.
He aimed at the creature’s upper body. With a helmet on its head and a leather apron below, the upper body was the obvious target.
Bullets sparked as they hit Pyramid Head’s chest, the supposed heart area. The bullets had little effect, barely making the creature stagger. It swung its massive blade toward 006’s head.
What happened to guns being effective? 006 thought as he scrambled to his feet, leaping over a nearby shelf to avoid the deadly swing.
Bella fired as well, but like 006, her bullets only made the Pyramid Head stagger. The creature continued its relentless assault.
Pyramid Head wasn’t alone; a swarm of beetles the size of fists followed, their heads vaguely resembling human faces.
Pyramid Head’s rush had left the beetles behind, but the gunfire from Bella and 006 gave the beetles time to catch up.
“Boom—boom—!” Bella fired incendiary rounds from her grenade launcher, creating a burning barrier to slow the beetles. She handed the launcher to 006, intending to handle Pyramid Head herself.
Bella clasped her hands, and a glow appeared between her fingers. Quickly shaping the energy, she pulled with her left hand, forming an ice rapier.
With the sword in hand, her combat strength increased by at least 20%.
As Pyramid Head swung its massive blade again, Bella dodged with a backbend. Seizing the moment, she closed the distance, stepping on Pyramid Head’s right knee and leaping up, kicking it in the chest.
The kick made Pyramid Head stumble back. Before it could swing again, Bella thrust her ice rapier through the gap between its helmet and neck.
The sensation wasn’t like stabbing flesh but more like plunging an ice cube into a boiling pot. The negative energy dissolved the psychic power of her sword, but Bella could tell the creature was hurt.
One sword down, time for another!
While her primary attack was the ice ray, Bella had learned another form: the lightning ray. Forming a lightning rapier was difficult, and she could only maintain it for a few seconds before losing control.
She waited for the right moment.
006 skillfully used the incendiary rounds against the beetles, shooting nearby structures to create obstacles and slow their advance.
He couldn’t help Bella directly, but Xiao could.
Bella’s purification orb revealed her position. Xiao, perched on the truck’s roof with a sniper rifle, took aim and fired at Pyramid Head’s heart.
The bullet created a large hole in Pyramid Head’s chest. 006, recognizing the creature as a boss, continued to support from the side, firing at Pyramid Head while containing the beetles.
Under the barrage of bullets, Pyramid Head hesitated, then swung its blade toward 006.
Now! Bella sidestepped behind Pyramid Head, quickly forming a lightning rapier. Before it could react, she thrust the sword into the back of its neck.
Though weaker than magical or divine lightning, Bella’s psychic lightning still had the highest damage against supernatural entities. The sword felt like piercing through sludge. Bella twisted and wrenched it, unleashing a burst of blue lightning under Pyramid Head’s skin.
With a thunderous boom, the energy exploded. Black smoke billowed from a crack in the helmet, and the giant staggered, dragging its sword as if to continue its attack.
With a deafening explosion, Xiao’s Javelin anti-tank missile hit Pyramid Head squarely, blowing a large, charred hole in its chest and shredding an arm.
Bella didn’t wait for the dust to settle. She formed another lightning rapier and thrust it into Pyramid Head’s neck.
She then focused her psychic power, reading its thoughts.
Pyramid Head wasn’t a living being nor a ghost but a conglomerate of violent, angry, vengeful thoughts. At its core was a principle: protect this world’s master, Alessa.
“Die!” Bella’s psychic power flooded into Pyramid Head’s core, shattering the hate, resentment, pain, and anger, causing a psychic explosion.
Pyramid Head disintegrated from the inside out, taking the grotesque human-faced beetles with it. However, the inner world persisted, and more footsteps echoed in the distance.
