At S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Yasuo was there for the first time. Sharon Carter greeted him and said she had many things to report and would call him later.
Left alone, Yasuo stood outside the main entrance of S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, gazing at the building, thinking about whom he should contact to collect his owed money. He then thought of Coulson, whom he had worked with before and was known for his reliability and authority in the Marvel universe. Most importantly, Coulson had the power to authorize payments.
Unlike a month ago, Yasuo listened to the pleasant music on the phone. Finally, Coulson answered.
A few seconds later, Coulson’s voice came through: “Yasuo, I heard you were missing. It seems you and Agent Carter are safe now?”
“Yes, we are. I’m at your office entrance. Come out, I need to talk to you!” Yasuo didn’t expect Coulson to be concerned about him, but that wouldn’t stop him from collecting his debt.
“My office entrance?” Coulson was a bit surprised, wondering why Yasuo was there.
“Yes, I’m at the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division entrance. Come out and see me, I have serious business to discuss,” Yasuo clarified, amazed he could remember the full name.
“Later, I’m currently working. I’ll come find you later!” Coulson noticed a blonde woman approaching and hurriedly ended the call to talk to her.
Did Coulson just hang up on him? Yasuo was stunned. He had no choice but to go in and find Melinda May since she had assigned him the last mission.
“Ms. Potts, can I talk to you for a moment?” Coulson, with a polite smile, approached the blonde woman. This was Virginia “Pepper” Potts, Tony Stark’s trusted secretary.
“Sorry, if you have questions, you can ask them at the press conference,” Potts, assuming Coulson was a reporter, replied formally.
“Sorry, you might have misunderstood. I’m Agent Coulson from the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division,” Coulson introduced himself, handing her a business card.
Potts glanced at the card: “Your name is quite hard to remember. The Department of Defense, FBI, and CIA have already contacted us.”
“We’re working on the name, but we need detailed information about Tony Stark’s escape,” Coulson persisted.
Potts, possibly fed up, replied dismissively: “I will arrange it, okay?”
At that moment, Tony entered with a cheeseburger, sitting casually on the floor, eating, and said: “Hey, everyone, let’s sit down, be casual!”
Then he made the shocking announcement: Stark Industries would indefinitely stop weapons manufacturing, effective immediately. The room fell silent for three seconds before chaos erupted, with reporters clamoring to interview Tony.
Failing to get Coulson’s attention, Yasuo reluctantly entered S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, looking for Melinda. He didn’t have her contact number and had to rely on himself. Just as he opened the door, two agents in black stopped him.
“Sir, this is private property. Please leave immediately.”
Inside S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury was having a private meeting with Sharon Carter, who was detailing recent events: “You’re saying Hydra has re-emerged in Sokovia?”
“Yes, Director. I hope my investigation is wrong, but look at these. Everything points to Hydra’s return!” Sharon handed over a detailed file on the Sokovia base.
Nick Fury, reviewing the documents, became increasingly serious. According to the files, Hydra had indeed returned, and there were infiltrators within S.H.I.E.L.D.
“Also, Director, I’ve found that the Reapers are bio-soldiers created by Hydra. The Reapers who attacked the Cube research facility came from Sokovia. I saw them, and Sokovia also has a secret market for selling vampires,” Sharon revealed more about the Reapers.
Nick Fury was taken aback, this information contradicting what he learned from Blade.
As they were discussing, a knock on the door interrupted them.
It was his assistant, Maria Hill. Knowing she was interrupting an important meeting, Fury realized something significant must have happened. Recent events flashed through his mind, giving him a headache.
Hill entered, nodding to Carter before addressing Fury: “Director, there’s a fight at the entrance. Several agents have been taken down. I need your instructions on how to handle it.”
Fury was stunned to hear there was a fight at the entrance, wondering if enemies had attacked their base.
Sharon, hearing someone was trying to forcefully enter S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, stood up, ready to intervene. The intruder had already taken down several professional agents, and she felt the situation needed immediate action.
“It’s the Red-Clothed Weirdo. He’s trying to get in to see Melinda, but the agents at the entrance stopped him. An argument ensued, and our agents tried to eject him. But as you know, the Red-Clothed Weirdo’s combat skills are beyond ordinary agents. He has taken down over twenty agents on the first floor!” Hill explained, feeling a bit helpless. The intruder’s identity made the situation complicated.
Sharon was stunned to hear the troublemaker was her boyfriend, Yasuo.
And the fact that he was forcefully entering S.H.I.E.L.D. to see the Asian agent, Melinda May, not her, left her speechless.
Fury couldn’t believe the intruder causing chaos was his first evaluation target, the Red-Clothed Weirdo. Daring to cause trouble at S.H.I.E.L.D. was a blatant disrespect. He needed to be taught a lesson that having power didn’t mean he could do as he pleased.
But before Fury could express his thoughts, Sharon said something even more surprising.
“Sorry, that’s my boyfriend. Let me handle him; it’s not a problem!” Sharon, realizing it was Yasuo, wanted to end the chaos immediately.
Yasuo stood in the main hall, surrounded by over twenty groaning agents on the floor. Several more agents, holding weapons, stood at a distance. One agent had fired at Yasuo and was now among the groaning ones at his feet.
The day’s events were surreal for these low-level S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. A man who could teleport and was bulletproof had single-handedly attacked S.H.I.E.L.D.?
Despite their weapons and numbers, Yasuo’s strength had terrified them. They could only hope for backup from higher-ups.
