“Whether he is or not doesn’t matter anymore. As long as he can help us deal with Baroque Works,” Pell said. The biggest problem facing Alabasta now was Baroque Works. The crocodile was a Shichibukai, and the man they had just encountered was with the Navy! The Navy and Shichibukai agreed not to attack each other, yet they believed the Navy without much reason.
Suddenly, Cobra stared at the spot where Rokujin had disappeared, speaking solemnly, “Trust me, he can do it!” It wasn’t just because Rokujin was Garp’s grandson but also because of his name. Monkey D. Rokujin!
…
Rokujin had left the palace elsewhere, looking at the items he had stolen into his system’s inventory. A faint smile played on his lips. “I didn’t find the Poneglyph, but I did find some other things. Consider it a down payment! Hahaha!” He knew the principle of not leaving empty-handed.
…
Meanwhile, in Rainbase, Crocodile sat before a Den Den Mushi, speaking with interest: “Oh, he’s already on his way here?”
“Since that’s the case, I’ll wait for him here,” Crocodile added with a smirk.
Beside him, Robin heard this, and a fleeting look of joy flashed in her eyes, quickly disappearing.
As Crocodile hung up the call, a man’s voice suddenly appeared outside the window. “Crocodile! Sashi Burida-na!”
With that, two sword lights flashed through the window, shattering it into pieces and revealing a man standing behind it. Wearing a Navy rear admiral’s cloak with “Justice” written on the back, the man held a long sword in each hand, a mischievous smile on his face. The moonlight made him look particularly striking.
“Hmm?” Crocodile raised an eyebrow, suspiciously staring at the Navy man. He had never met him before. Why did he say ‘Sashi Burida-na’?
But soon, Crocodile recognized him, his eyes narrowing. “Monkey D. Rokujin! Garp’s grandson!”
“Yep,” Rokujin nodded slightly, sizing up Crocodile’s stats.
Character: Crocodile
Position: President of Baroque Works, Shichibukai
Devil Fruit: Sand-Sand Fruit
Level: S+
Skills: Fruit Mastery (S+), Observation Haki (A), etc.
Bounty: 81,000,000 Beli
Although his bounty wasn’t high, Crocodile’s strength was formidable. Rokujin wondered how Luffy managed to defeat him.
“The Navy Headquarters hasn’t yet abolished the Shichibukai system, right? So why is a rear admiral from the East Blue here on the Grand Line? And attacking my subordinates?” Crocodile questioned with a hint of accusation.
“Boredom. Beating up some pirates to boost my merits,” Rokujin said with a smirk. “Besides, did you think we in the Navy were unaware of what you’ve been doing in Alabasta?”
This was a bluff to see Crocodile’s reaction.
“You…” Crocodile hesitated, a flash of killing intent in his eyes. Yellow sand gathered in his right hand, forming a small desert tornado. “Sandstorm!”
With a wave of his hand, the desert tornado flew out, growing larger as it moved, aiming at Rokujin.
“Rokushiki: Soru!” Rokujin chuckled, disappearing from his original spot and reappearing on the other side. He easily dodged the Crocodile’s attack. The sandstorm hit the wall behind him, creating a huge hole.
“The mighty Shichibukai resorts to sneak attacks? I guess I’ll have to arrest you for attacking a Navy officer,” Rokujin said, looking at the hole in the wall with indifference.
“Hehe, today I’ll see just how strong the Navy’s rising star really is!” Crocodile laughed coldly, his entire body turning into sand and dissipating into the air, swiftly heading towards Rokujin.
“Alright!” Without any fear, Rokujin used Soru and quickly fled outside the room into the desert. The crocodile followed closely behind.
“Lu…” Robin stepped forward, ready to assist, but noticed Rokujin’s mouth movements, which seemed to say, “Don’t interfere!” So she retracted her hands and watched silently. Even after all these years, she remembered the man who had notified her mother. That man wasn’t from their place; he was a Navy officer and definitely had an unusual relationship with her mother. So, finding that Navy officer was her way to learn about her mother’s fate. Upon learning that Rokujin had come here, Robin chose to hide his information, preventing Crocodile from finding out, inadvertently helping Rokujin.
…
Outside, Rokujin and Crocodile faced off in the open desert.
“Hehe, you chose this place as your grave,” Crocodile said with a smug smile. The desert was his home turf.
“Really?” Rokujin replied, his expression unchanged.
“Desert Spada!” Crocodile’s eyes flashed, no longer holding back. His entire right arm turned into sand, forming a sand blade that grew in size, becoming a massive sand sword, which he swung down at Rokujin.
“Armament Haki: Hardening!” Standing his ground, Rokujin’s hands turned black with Armament Haki. Both his long swords, Zantian and Black Blade, were also covered with Haki, red and black electric arcs flickering along their blades.
In the next instant, Rokujin swung his dual swords simultaneously. “Two-Sword Style: Demon Slash!”
A red and black sword energy shot out, forming an ‘X’ shape, and a giant demon face, half black and half red, emerged, grabbing at Crocodile’s sand blade.
“Boom!”
The clash of their attacks created a powerful shockwave, sending sand flying in all directions. Rokujin shielded his eyes from the sand, quickly retreating with the wind. Before the sandstorm settled, a chill ran down his spine from behind.
“Desert la Spada!” Somehow, Crocodile had used the sand to form a giant sand sword from the ground, stabbing towards Rokujin’s back.
“Armament Haki!” But Rokujin was challenging prey. His Observation Haki had sensed it already. His back hardened with Armament Haki, and he felt a powerful impact hit, sending him flying. Sliding several meters, he finally steadied himself, a red mark on his back but his cloak in tatters. “Quite strong indeed!”
