“Kuzan, what do you think?” Kizaru, casually chewing on senbei from a bag he had produced at some point, watched the intense battle before him with a look of amusement.
“Akainu hasn’t shown his true strength yet. Hmm… neither has Evan. They’re both still testing each other’s abilities. Let’s observe a bit longer,” Kuzan replied thoughtfully.
“True. But I’m not surprised by Akainu. It’s Evan, this kid, who surprises me. Despite holding back, he hasn’t shown any sign of losing ground. His combat experience and strength are more formidable than I imagined,” Kizaru said, narrowing his eyes. “At just sixteen, if he continues to grow, he could become the next Whitebeard. No wonder Sengoku is so wary of him.”
“Hmm?”
Kuzan glanced at him, surprised by the high praise Evan was receiving from Kizaru.
Lava flowed slowly across the ground, red-hot and blazing, casting a mesmerizing yet oppressive glow in the night.
The magma’s temperature had already surpassed a thousand degrees, and its destructive power was unquestionable. It spread like a tidal wave, leaving nothing alive in its path, creating a more terrifying environment than the Fifth Layer of Hell.
In the center of the red magma stood a towering figure, his muscular frame almost bursting out of his shirt. His face was calm, yet the intense heat around him gave off an extremely chilling aura.
Evan, sweating profusely from the intense heat and the physical exertion of battle, stood resolute with a determined gaze.
He held his sword, Snowfall, standing on invisible platforms, floating mid-air as if defying gravity. He watched the boiling magma erupting from Akainu with unwavering resolve.
“Next time, my sword will truly hit you,” Evan said coldly. He pressed down with Snowfall, generating a high-intensity repulsion force that created a pseudo-gravity space.
The lava around Akainu stopped flowing under the gravitational pressure Evan created.
Akainu stepped forward heavily, his movement sluggish, but then regained his usual pace.
Evan watched intently. The gravity within his circular space, limited to ten times normal, was ineffective against a powerhouse like Akainu, who trained his body and wasted Evan’s energy.
“So you rely on teleportation to dodge—let’s see how you handle this!”
Akainu coldly stared at Evan, his right hand turning back into magma form. He lifted his massive magma arm high and clenched it into a fist.
After a brief buildup, instead of attacking Evan directly, Akainu slammed his fist down onto the ground.
Boom!
The ground shook violently, and magma churned and erupted.
Evan’s expression changed as the ground beneath him suddenly exploded, a jet of red-hot magma shooting up with incredible force and destructive power.
“Night Slash! Open up!”
In a flash, Evan swung Snowfall downwards, a black crescent-shaped blade of energy slicing through the air.
Swish!
The black crescent vanished into the magma column, which split cleanly in two. The remaining magma surged around Evan, rising several meters before eventually falling back down.
Evan manipulated the space around him, dodging the falling magma as it returned to the ground.
The ground below erupted again before he could catch his breath, producing another massive red magma column with even greater force, threatening to engulf and overwhelm him.
Evan’s figure flickered as he vanished from the air. The magma column shot upwards with a mighty force, only falling back after reaching more than twenty meters high.
Seeing Evan’s teleportation evasion, Akainu coldly smirked, his magma arm striking the ground again.
The earth crumbled as the magma column seemed to erupt intentionally from beneath Evan, aiming to engulf and kill him.
Evan had no choice but to use Snowfall to block the attack.
From there, he either teleported or used Snowfall to slice through the magma columns. No matter where he moved, the magma columns relentlessly pursued him, attacking from every direction.
Within a hundred meters, the battlefield was covered in traces of magma, and the sky and ground transformed into a blazing, spectacular, and terrifying scene.
“Akainu is a monster! He doesn’t even care about us while fighting,” said Borsalino, retreating to avoid the danger zone.
“Looks like Akainu is getting serious,” Kuzan agreed.
“Yes.”
Kizaru and Kuzan also retreated as the magma columns shattered by the sword techniques fell like a torrential downpour, leaving no safe place to stand.
“Is this ever going to end?!”
Evan frowned as his white cloak was destroyed by the magma. He stood in mid-air, continuously striking with Snowfall. Transparent, milk-white crescent-shaped dimension slashes rapidly cut through the night sky.
The dimension slashes moved silently, cutting through both magma and earth, leaving smooth, clean surfaces in their wake, with the ability to cut through space.
Akainu initially tried to block with magma, but a dimension slash sliced through his magma defenses, leaving a smooth cut even on his haki-covered arm. Realizing this was more than just swordplay, he began to avoid the dimension slashes intentionally.
However, the relentless magma column attacks forced Evan to either block or dodge, and despite his best efforts to avoid them, he sustained bloody wounds.
With blood flowing and magma erupting wildly, Akainu remained calm on the surface, but his inner rage was absolute.
“Mad dog!”
Evan gritted his teeth. Although he hadn’t been directly hit by the magma columns, the splashing magma had burned his skin. Thanks to his robust physique, he wasn’t severely injured and could still move vigorously.
After once again teleporting to avoid a magma column, Akainu’s figure appeared amidst the lava.
With a grin on his face, Akainu’s other arm also transformed into red-hot magma. Now fiery and heavy, both magma arms were raised high and hammered down onto the ground.
Boom! Boom!
The earth trembled violently, and Fishman Island shook uncontrollably!
Evan, now appearing in mid-air, saw the ground beneath him collapse as magma columns erupted relentlessly from the surface!
One, two, three…
Nine magma columns merged into one, erupting with such force that the previous columns seemed insignificant.
The ground beneath Evan was completely engulfed within a radius of several meters. The dense eruption of magma was indistinguishable from a volcanic eruption, lighting up the night sky with a brilliant red glow!
