Leaving behind a shocked Odin, let’s shift our focus to our protagonist, Lan Xingyu. Currently, Xingyu is being led by Frigga through the palace, marveling at the golden architecture all around. My goodness, Asgard is incredibly lavish! Suddenly, Xingyu thought that all those internet videos ranking the wealthiest characters in the Marvel Universe were way off. If you compared the wealth of Asgard before it was destroyed, even excluding Odin’s vault, it could easily outshine Black Panther and Iron Man.
Xingyu could sense the energy flowing through the walls and decorations. Pure gold doesn’t have such excellent magical conductivity, so there must be other materials involved. And this wasn’t just limited to Odin’s palace; even the streets of Asgard were made of the same material.
Driven by an inexplicable impulse, Xingyu said, “Queen Frigga, do you need a cute little accessory on your leg?”
“Hmm? What did you say, little Xingyu?” Frigga, lost in thoughts of pinching Xingyu’s adorable cheeks, hadn’t quite heard him. She struggled to maintain her composure, thinking, Calm down, calm down. I am the Queen. I must maintain my dignity!
“Oh, nothing. Frigga, could you take me to explore Asgard’s streets? I’d love to taste Asgardian food,” Xingyu asked expectantly. As a foodie, he couldn’t visit Asgard without trying the local cuisine.
“Of course, little Xingyu. This isn’t an official event, so you can call me Aunt Frigga,” Frigga replied warmly. The power of cuteness naturally maxed out the favorability of any female NPC he met, with no logic required.
“Great! Aunt Frigga, let’s go! I’m a bit hungry,” Xingyu said with a smile, thinking about how to build a good relationship with Asgard.
As they walked through the palace, soldiers curiously observed the Queen leading a child out of the palace. When did a child suddenly appear in the palace?
With the soldiers saluting, Frigga led Xingyu to the bustling streets of Asgard. She used a spell to change her appearance, as she was too well-known to walk around without being recognized.
“Xingyu, just call me Aunt while we’re out, or we won’t be able to enjoy our walk,” Frigga telepathically instructed.
Xingyu nodded, understanding the situation. The streets of Asgard had many vendors, and Xingyu ran around excitedly, checking out everything. Frigga even bought him an outfit. The sky-blue ancient European-style clothing with gold accents made Xingyu look like a native Asgardian.
They soon arrived at Asgard’s food street, where most stalls offered various grilled meats. The food, though limited in variety, used magical creatures and fierce beasts, making the meat exceptionally delicious. Coupled with Asgardian sauces, Xingyu couldn’t stop eating.
Just as Xingyu was enjoying himself, cries of alarm rose from the crowd. Xingyu and Frigga looked up to see a child about his age stuck on a ledge of a tall building, crying for help. Soldiers quickly arrived, preparing to rescue the child. Although Asgardians were three times stronger than humans, a fall from such a height could still be fatal, especially for a child.
Before the soldiers could act, the child slipped and fell. Frigga began casting a spell to catch the child, but someone else moved faster.
A golden flash streaked across the sky, and in the blink of an eye, a figure caught the child. Before anyone could react, another golden flash brought the figure and child safely to the ground.
Frigga was stunned. Even she couldn’t follow Xingyu’s movements. She quickly ran over to them.
“Xingyu, are you both alright?” Frigga asked with concern. In her excitement, her disguise spell had faded, and the crowd knelt upon recognizing her. She quickly stopped them.
“We’re fine, Aunt Frigga! Don’t worry, I’m very strong. Besides my master, I’m the strongest back home!” Xingyu said, placing the child down gently.
Seeing both Xingyu and the child unharmed, Frigga breathed a sigh of relief and dismissed the crowd. She decided to take Xingyu back, as her identity was now exposed and they couldn’t continue their walk. Despite Xingyu’s claim of being the strongest after his master, Frigga assumed his senior disciples must be letting him win.
Xingyu, noticing the child still trembling, placed a comforting hand on his head, emitting a warm light to soothe the child’s fears. Seeing the child relax, Xingyu felt reassured.
Not wanting to return so soon, Xingyu’s mind raced for a plan. The palace wasn’t as fun as the streets. He had to make the most of this outing.
At that moment, a whistling sound cut through the air. Xingyu’s Observation Haki sensed something flying rapidly towards Frigga. Xingyu was confused—who would be foolish enough to attack the Queen in Asgard? Was someone out of their mind? This is Asgard! With both his master and Odin present, they had two Heavenly Father-level powerhouses. How could they lose?
Nonetheless, he couldn’t ignore the threat. “Aunt Frigga, watch out!” Xingyu warned, sending a light bullet to intercept the flying object. The object exploded and fell at Frigga’s and Xingyu’s feet.
Seeing what it was, Xingyu felt awkward. It was a hammer… and the person behind it was none other than Thor, though currently just the Hammer God.
Frigga was speechless. She knew it was her son, but Xingyu didn’t. He had just protected her and then shot Thor down. What could she say?
“Who dares attack the mighty Thor?” A booming voice echoed as a tall, muscular blond man emerged from the smoke, anger in his eyes.
Uh… Xingyu felt a bit panicked. What should he do after attacking the Crown Prince in someone else’s territory? Online answers needed urgently!
Luckily, Frigga stepped between Thor and Xingyu. “It’s a misunderstanding, Thor. Don’t be so angry. Let me introduce you. This is Lan Xingyu, a disciple of your father’s close friend. Xingyu, this is my son, Thor.”
Relieved by Frigga’s intervention, Xingyu apologized, “Hello, you can call me Xingyu. I’m sorry, I thought someone was attacking the Queen…”
“You? How could a little kid knock me down? That’s impossible! Where are you from?” Thor demanded, his pride hurt by the idea that a child could defeat him.
“I’m from Earth, what you call Midgard,” Xingyu replied. Though Thor’s tone was arrogant, Xingyu chose to let it slide since he was in the wrong. He mentally added Thor to his little black book, vowing to remember this slight.
“Midgard? How could a weak human from Midgard knock me down?” Thor couldn’t believe it. To him, humans were weak, and a sense of superiority swelled within him.
“Thor, do not be rude,” Frigga admonished, knowing that such arrogance was unbecoming of a future king.
Suddenly, an idea struck Xingyu. This was an opportunity.
“Oh, you think we humans are weak? How about a bet?” Xingyu challenged.
“Interesting. What do you propose, kid?” Thor asked, intrigued.
“A duel, best of five rounds. How about it?”
“Wait…” Frigga began to object.
“It’s okay, Aunt Frigga. Didn’t I say I’m strong? Trust me. So, Thor, do you dare?” Xingyu interrupted, trying to provoke Thor.
“Alright, mother. I won’t hurt him. Let’s go to the training ground; there’s a proper arena. How about that?”
“Sure, but let’s add some stakes. The loser becomes the winner’s follower. Dare to accept?” Xingyu proposed.
“Ha ha ha, someone wants to be my follower? Fine, let’s go,” Thor agreed, leading the way. Xingyu followed, with Frigga trailing, shaking her head but needing to ensure Xingyu’s safety.
They didn’t notice the sly smile on Xingyu’s face—his plan was falling into place…
