An elderly white-haired man sat cross-legged on a mat, blending naturally with his surroundings. He opened his eyes, “Today is the annual assessment. I hope you perform better than last year! Roshi, Shen, you two go first.”
Roshi and Shen stood up, bowing to Mutaito, “Turtle, today I’ll show you the difference between us!”
Roshi chuckled at Shen, “You think I’m still the same? I’ll show you my progress.”
“Bring it on!”
They clashed, fists colliding, each impact resonating with a dull thud. “Bam!” Their fists met, pushing each other back.
Shen spoke, “Turtle, I didn’t expect your strength to improve so much. I need to reevaluate you.”
“Of course, I’m not done yet. Shen, take this!” Roshi said proudly, throwing a punch at Shen.
Shen crouched, aiming a punch at Roshi’s abdomen. Seeing Shen’s move, Roshi’s smile widened, “Gotcha.” He leaned back, legs wrapping around Shen’s arm, and with a forceful twist, he threw Shen to the ground.
Shen struggled but couldn’t break free from Roshi’s lock. Due to his flexibility, he lifted his leg to his face and swung it towards Roshi.
Roshi saw the incoming leg, knowing he’d be hit if he didn’t let go. Reluctantly, he released Shen and flattened himself on the ground, Shen’s kick narrowly missing his nose.
Mutaito watched with satisfaction, “Roshi and Shen’s talent and comprehension surpass the others. The future belongs to them,” he thought, smiling.
“Shen, watch my ultimate move!” Roshi shouted, generating a whirlwind with his punch. Mutaito, seeing this, remarked, “Roshi is close to mastering ki. Not bad.”
“You think you’re the only one who can use ki? Watch this,” Shen replied, forming a transparent crane head with his hands, shattering Roshi’s whirlwind.
Mutaito, observing, said to his disciples, “If Shen is a confident flying crane, then Roshi is a newly awakened mountain tiger.” The disciples nodded in agreement.
Suddenly, Shen and Roshi’s bodies emitted black ki, their eyes turning red as they started destroying the area. Mutaito swiftly deflected their ki blasts, but his hands trembled uncontrollably afterward. A ki blast from Roshi and Shen struck Mutaito, slamming him into a wall.
Roshi and Shen flew through the roof, smashing it. Mutaito’s disciples pulled him out, “Master Mutaito, why are Roshi and Shen…”
Their question was cut short by a sudden scene.
“Boom!” Smoke filled the area as a figure floated down through the broken roof, “Hey, you two, you gotta pay for the damages.”
Mutaito’s disciples stared at Pica, the mysterious stranger who not only flew but also knocked down Roshi and Shen—who had defeated their master.
Roshi and Shen got up and attacked Pica, their speed a blur to the disciples. What happened next left them speechless: Pica effortlessly blocked their attacks with one hand while casually talking, “Too slow, too boring.” With a burst of energy, he knocked them back into the ground.
As Pica descended to remove the evil seeds from their bodies, black ki began to surge from them…
