Marvel Rise of Lord God Chapter 79

An Ordinary Person

Five days passed in the blink of an eye. Guy woke up to train as usual, and suddenly, the mission was assigned to him.

In the next instant, Guy accepted the mission and was immediately pulled from the Supreme Space.

Qi Yun stood by, watching as Guy was yanked by the thread straight into the gate, trying to stop it the whole time.

However, as Qi Yun had predicted, his attempts to stop it were futile.

Watching the still-sealed gate, Qi Yun waved his hand, lifted the seal, and stepped inside.

Before Qi Yun entered, Guy’s behavior had not changed.

The truck still successfully ran him over. Qi Yun waved his hand, canceling Guy’s mission and sending him back to the Supreme Space.

As soon as Qi Yun entered this world, the thread on Guy disappeared. It seemed the enemy’s only goal was to lure Qi Yun into this world.

Surveying the dark surroundings, Qi Yun remained calm; at least this place was better than the void.

“I’ve come. Aren’t you going to show yourself?” Qi Yun called out.

“You shouldn’t have come.”

A child floated in the air, slowly emerging from the shadows like a ghost.

“Edogawa Conan?” Qi Yun exclaimed in surprise.

It was clear this world was the one of the eternally young detective.

“I didn’t expect you to recognize me.”

Conan’s tone was emotionless, and as he spoke, Qi Yun noticed only his mouth moved.

Upon closer inspection, Qi Yun saw that Conan’s limbs and head were suspended by black threads, making him look like a puppet on a stage.

“You shouldn’t have come.”

Conan continued, knowing what the mastermind wanted but lacking the power to change it.

The words spoken to Guy were Conan’s heartfelt thoughts. He was the last person left in this world.

To drive Conan into utter despair, he had been forced to watch as Mouri Ran, Haibara Ai, and others died one by one in front of him.

What surprised the mastermind was that despite everyone he knew dying horrifically, Conan did not fall into despair.

He tirelessly searched for clues, trying to find answers and solutions, but before the last person in the world died, Conan hadn’t found what he was looking for.

Conan finally fell into despair when he realized he was the only person left.

Conan’s abilities couldn’t manifest in this state, and puppet strings easily controlled him, reduced to a puppet who could speak but not say what he wanted.

“I think coming here was the right move,” Qi Yun said with a smile, sitting back into a chair that appeared behind him.

“You’re not very smart. You still had time to escape,” Conan said, feeling even more despair.

Qi Yun smiled back. He knew Conan had been trying to give him time to run, but there was no need. Since he was here, Qi Yun wouldn’t rest until this was resolved.

The puppet strings twitched, and Conan’s eyes moved up and down, scrutinizing Qi Yun.

“You seem confident, but your expression betrays your anxiety and lack of assurance,” Conan attempted to deduce.

Qi Yun shrugged. “Maybe you’re right.”

Agreeing with Conan’s words, Qi Yun suddenly felt a surge of anxiety. These feelings appeared out of nowhere but felt real.

Shaking his head, Qi Yun accepted the anxiety and suppressed it with his willpower.

Anxiety was a normal emotion, and with the right approach, it wouldn’t lead to exaggerated negative consequences.

Seeing his skill had little effect, Conan continued.

“You possess considerable power, but in this vast universe, you’re merely a slightly larger ant.”

“Hmm…” Qi Yun pondered. “You might be right.”

As soon as he spoke, the chair beneath Qi Yun vanished, and he shrank down to the size of a large-headed ant.

Scratching his head, Qi Yun thought Conan’s power was strong but not enough.

The power of the Supreme Space surged from Qi Yun’s body. Even as a large-headed ant, he remained a Supreme Being.

The black color of the puppet strings faded, rushing into Conan’s mind.

Spiderweb-like black lines appeared on Conan’s face, making him look terrifying.

“Do you think you’re a qualified Supreme Being? You lack immense power, resilient will, and you’re unwilling to face sacrifices. You resemble an ordinary person more than a Supreme Being.”

“Oh, we need to talk about that,” Qi Yun said, flying up to Conan’s eyes and hovering there.

“Power can be trained, will can be honed, and as for avoiding sacrifice, I’ve never believed that a Supreme Being must lose human empathy. Even if that were necessary, it would be my choice, not a requirement of being a Supreme Being. Besides, there are no standards for a Supreme Being.”

Qi Yun continued, “The notion that the Supreme Space must be cruel is a fixed idea in most people’s minds. I don’t plan to create a space based solely on cruelty.”

Listening to Qi Yun’s words, the black lines on Conan’s face squirmed. Qi Yun’s unconventional response disrupted Conan’s deductive flow.

Even Conan’s true self thought Qi Yun’s words made sense.

After a long silence, Conan responded.

“Perhaps you have a point, but how does an idealist who needs constant training to grow differ from an ordinary person?”

“Oh, you misunderstood. I never said I wasn’t an ordinary person,” Qi Yun replied. “I’ve always considered myself quite ordinary.”

As soon as he spoke, the dark environment shifted. The puppet strings were surprised by Qi Yun’s easy admission.

“As an ordinary person, you’ll die from various accidents—car crashes, electrocution, plane crashes, meteor strikes…”

“Wait, wait. Aside from the first two, aren’t these accidents unlikely for most ordinary people?”

Qi Yun interrupted.

But his words didn’t stop the sequence of events. Trucks, dangling power lines, falling planes, and huge meteors all came crashing down.

“Hey, does a plane crash mean being hit by a falling plane? That doesn’t seem right…”
