One Piece: I Can Simplify Skills Chapter 82

Rear Admiral

After this battle, Rokujin’s strength had once again improved! With over 900 energy points accumulated and obtaining a new Supreme Grade Sword, his power advanced. The new Supreme Grade Sword, named “Qingfeng,” had a long, green blade.

Several days later, in a particular sea area of the Grand Line, Rokujin waited for the Navy ship that would transport Crocodile to Impel Down.

Crocodile, bound beside him, suddenly spoke, “I never thought I’d fall into your hands. But I have a question—why did you say ‘long time no see’ earlier? Have we met before?”

“Ha-ha, you’ll find out in time,” Rokujin chuckled, explaining nothing further. “Long time no see” was Crocodile’s catchphrase, and he had subconsciously said it.

Crocodile asked no more questions.

About half an hour later, a Navy ship arrived. Rokujin looked up, slightly surprised, “Vice Admiral Tsuru’s ship!”

He hadn’t expected Vice Admiral Tsuru to oversee Crocodile’s transport personally. However, considering Crocodile’s strength, perhaps it did require her presence. Over the past few days, Vivi had exposed Baroque Works’ conspiracy. Naturally, the Navy had to put on a show and bring Crocodile in, making Rokujin a hero of the Navy, deserving of promotion and rewards.

Soon, Rokujin boarded Vice Admiral Tsuru’s ship, handing over Crocodile.

“Vice Admiral Tsuru, I didn’t expect you to come personally!”

“Hmm, defeating Crocodile shows your strength has grown. The headquarters are considering bringing you back. There are several rising pirates causing trouble worldwide. Headquarters may want you to block some from entering the New World,” Tsuru said seriously.

“Yes, I understand!” Rokujin nodded. It wasn’t just headquarters’ decision but also because Crocodile was captured, leaving a Shichibukai position vacant. They needed someone to suppress the pirates aiming for the New World.

“By the way, your grandfather asked me to tell you to discipline Luffy if you see him,” Tsuru added.

“Alright!” Rokujin smiled. He would comply.

“Good. Orders will arrive in a few days. Stay at the Grand Line base for now. If you need anything, contact me with a Den Den Mushi.”

“Thank you, Granny Tsuru!” After a brief conversation, Vice Admiral Tsuru departed with Crocodile.

Watching her ship leave, Rokujin followed her advice and headed to the nearest Navy base. The Navy had bases across the Grand Line to quickly mobilise forces and curb pirates from reaching the New World, ensuring weaker pirates perished in the first half. This made the Grand Line a training ground for pirates, where only a few successfully passed through, creating the existence of pirate supernovas.

A few days later, Rokujin arrived at a Navy base where his new orders had already arrived. He was promoted to Rear Admiral and became the base’s commander, tasked with stopping all advancing pirates, a role suited him perfectly.

Meanwhile, in the East Blue, Ain brought Helmeppo and Coby to Rokujin’s base. A few days earlier, the system had announced the completion of a new task.

[Ding! Congratulations on completing the Stage 2 Task. Reward: Energy Points +10, Quality Blade +1!]

The three were considered Rokujin’s troops, so they followed him. Barton continued managing the East Blue base, temporarily assuming the position of base commander.

In the office:

“Teacher!”

“Teacher!”

Coby and Helmeppo stood at attention, shouting in unison.

“Hmm, Ain, you’ve taught them well. Their strength has improved a lot!” Rokujin said, pleased as he reviewed their information. Their strength had reached D-level, triggering the next stage task.

[Ding! Stage 3 Task: Help Coby and Helmeppo reach A-level strength. Reward: Energy Points +2000, Custom Great Sword +1, Gauntlets +1!]

“Thank you!” Ain smiled.

“Helmeppo, here’s a sword that should suit you. Take it,” Rokujin said, handing over a quality blade from the system’s reward.

“Thank you, teacher!” Helmeppo’s eyes lit up with excitement. The quality blade was far better than what he had been using.

“Hmm,” Rokujin nodded and looked at Coby, comforting him, “You’re training in martial arts, so I didn’t prepare a sword for you. I’ll get you something good next time!”

“Thank you, teacher!” Coby said happily.

“Alright, since your strength has improved, join me on a patrol at sea!” Rokujin stood up.

“Yes!” They followed him eagerly, especially Coby and Helmeppo, who had been training but hadn’t experienced actual combat.

Under Rokujin’s leadership, they boarded several ships to patrol the nearby sea, effectively hunting pirates. The leading boat carried Rokujin and his group, with six other Navy ships following, totalling seven Navy ships. Rokujin lay on a deck chair, sunbathing leisurely.

“Bring the juice!” Ain handed Rokujin a glass of juice.

“Thanks!” Rokujin sipped the chilled juice, refreshed, “Finally, a few days of rest!”

To him, no pirates meant rest.

“If Vice Admiral Garp saw you like this, wouldn’t he scold you again?” Ain teased.

“One must enjoy life. We should make the most of it!” Rokujin said, taking another sip of juice.

Ain giggled, covering her face. Suddenly, Coby ran over to report.

“Rear Admiral, a pirate ship spotted!”

“Head over and destroy them!” Rokujin ordered, springing to his feet.

“Yes!” At his command, the seven ships sailed towards the pirate ship.

Meanwhile, the crew spotted the approaching Navy ships on the pirate ship and reported to their captain.

“Captain! Captain! Several Navy ships are heading our way!”

“Oh? The Navy dares to trouble us? Charge and open fire! Destroy them!” ordered a man with a red nose, bushy eyebrows, and fox-like features.
