A male teacher walked into the classroom, exuding a warm demeanor despite a 5-centimeter scar across his nose. His ponytail added a sense of vitality (reminiscent of Shikamaru’s ponytail from Naruto).
The teacher wrote “Ethan Alexander” on the blackboard.
“Hello, everyone. My name is Ethan Alexander, and I will be your teacher from today onwards. Before we start the class, let’s introduce ourselves to get to know each other,” Ethan said.
“How should we introduce ourselves, teacher?” a female student asked, raising her hand.
“Just tell us what you like, what you dislike, and your dreams,” Ethan replied.
Lan Xingyu had to stifle a laugh. “Teacher, you must be a time traveler, right? You aren’t Ethan, you’re Iruka. What’s with the Naruto-style opening? Are you going to teach us how to open our minds?” Shaking off his random thoughts, Lan Xingyu continued to listen.
“As the teacher, I’ll go first. I like eating ramen and dislike the few minutes of waiting for it to cook. My dream is to become the principal of this school,” Ethan said, then pointed to the first student in Lan Xingyu’s row. “Let’s start with you and go down the line.”
“My name is…” The students in front of Lan Xingyu completed their introductions. When it was Lan Xingyu’s turn, most of the girls’ attention turned to him.
“Hello, everyone! My name is Xingyu Lan. I like watching anime and playing games. I dislike the one-week wait for new episodes. My dream is world peace,” Lan Xingyu said calmly.
After seven years of practice, Lan Xingyu was used to situations like this.
Ahem! Who told me to be this excellent? Oh! This damned, nowhere-to-place charm!
Ignoring Lan Xingyu’s narcissism, the self-introductions continued. The next was Peter.
“Hello, everyone! My name is Peter Parker. I like building complex LEGO sets. I dislike being ignored. My dream is to become a scientist.”
Then, a familiar name caught Lan Xingyu’s attention.
“Hello, everyone! My name is Gwen Stacy. I like sports and dancing. I dislike noisy places. My dream is to become a scientist or a police officer.”
Lan Xingyu knew her. In the comics, she was Peter’s first girlfriend but died at the hands of the Green Goblin. In some universes, she became Spider-Woman. Gwen had the makings of a future beauty with her big, expressive eyes, an oval face, and delicate features.
The next girl surprised Lan Xingyu even more.
“Hello, everyone! My name is Mary Jane Watson. I like acting and studying. I dislike noisy places. My dream is to become a star.”
Lan Xingyu thought, “This one’s impressive. She’s Spider-Man’s wife! Is this Peter’s harem squad? And the next one…”
“Hello, everyone! My name is Felicia Hardy. I like sports and dislike troublesome things. My dream is to become a jewelry designer.”
This was Black Cat from Marvel. Lan Xingyu was certain she wasn’t the comic version of Black Cat because of Stark.
Felicia’s father had helped Howard Stark and Dr. Abraham Erskine develop the super-soldier serum, the one that made Captain America. Her mother was also a wealthy figure, and Felicia was a Stark Industries shareholder. This scenario was reminiscent of a Spider-Man animated series Lan Xingyu had seen. If the Kingpin existed in this world, it would be troublesome! Lan Xingyu decided to investigate further later.
Lan Xingyu was a bit jealous of Peter. His class was like a harem team. The internet was right; this guy was definitely Tony’s son. But why am I still single despite being so handsome?
After the introductions, Lan Xingyu tuned out. With his super brain, he had already mastered all the knowledge up to the university level in the United States.
That’s where Hupo came in. Lan Xingyu didn’t bring Hupo to school for no reason. He placed Hupo on the desk and lay down. Ah, Hupo was so soft!
Everyone knows cats are fluid, and fluid cats make the best pillows because they perfectly conform to your body.
Lan Xingyu started sleeping, and his internal energy began to flow.
Yes, Lan Xingyu was cultivating in his sleep. He didn’t know why, but as long as he slept, his power increased, seemingly without limit. So, during school, he slept to cultivate, and he needed a good pillow, hence Hupo.
Effort was impossible for Lan Xingyu; he could only rely on sleeping to break through to the single-universe level. The more he slept, the sooner he could reach that level, then he wouldn’t need to wait for Ghost Rider to trigger the plot. He could break through the dimensional barrier and go to Hell to take down Mephisto and then be a carefree homebody.
As Lan Xingyu slept (cultivated), the morning passed. He didn’t wake up, no matter what happened in class, until the school bell rang. The school bell could solve all insomnia, and the end-of-class bell could solve all drowsiness.
This was the most sleep Lan Xingyu had gotten in one day. He felt he owed it to himself to play LOL all night after so much “study.”
Calling Tony to tell him not to send a car, Lan Xingyu walked home with Peter, who chatted nonstop about the day’s events and how a group of girls watched him sleep. Lan Xingyu felt embarrassed. It seemed he couldn’t slack off; who knew what could happen while he slept?
Spider-Man indeed deserved the title of Marvel’s second-greatest chatterbox. Lan Xingyu couldn’t get a word in edgewise from school to Peter’s home.
After parting ways with Peter, Lan Xingyu wandered around New York. Elementary school ended at 3 PM, so he wasn’t in a hurry to go home. It was unreasonable not to explore New York after being there for so long.
But he noticed fewer and fewer people around him. In one area, there were even fewer, and those who were there looked hurried. Lan Xingyu used his Observation Haki and magic to sense his surroundings, and what he discovered shocked him. This area was rife with crimes like robbery, kidnapping, and murder. He realized he was in Hell’s Kitchen, New York’s dark side, where the light couldn’t reach.
Since he knew about it, he couldn’t ignore it. Turning into a side alley where a group was planning human trafficking, Lan Xingyu decided to deal with them first.
As he entered the alley, the traffickers noticed him.
“Ha ha ha! What luck! Haven’t even started, and someone walks right in!” The leader laughed, approaching Lan Xingyu. Just as Lan Xingyu was about to deal with them, a cane flew past his ear, hitting the leader, followed by a red figure appearing in front of Lan Xingyu, shielding him.
“Kid, this isn’t the place for you. Leave now,” the figure said, then rushed at the traffickers.
But Lan Xingyu didn’t leave. Instead, he noticed something interesting…
