The Other World – Hell.
Grand Kai’s Planet.
Three days had passed since Son Goku and Raditz both attained the realm of Super Saiyan God.
By now, the two of them were itching to return to Earth and challenge Lin Chuan and Piccolo to a fight.
They had undergone grueling training for over a year and a half, no, even longer.
They had finally grasped divine power and successfully completed the transformation into Super Saiyan God.
That was the goal all along!
The Super Saiyan God transformation gave them an immense surprise, letting them realize that even Super Saiyan 4 wasn’t absolutely invincible.
Goku didn’t react too extremely, but Raditz was firmly convinced that Super Saiyan God was definitely superior to Super Saiyan 4.
It was clear that their personalities hadn’t changed much despite the increase in strength and the elevation in realm.
“Looks like with all this time accumulating your strength, now that you’ve broken through to divine level, there won’t be any issues with losing control. With that, your training here with me can come to an end,” North Kai said as he faced Goku and Raditz.
Truthfully, this period of time was even longer than the last time the two had come to North Kai’s planet for training.
Especially during this second, more familiar, extended stay, parting brought a sense of sadness.
“Yes, Lord North Kai. We’ve completed the final stabilization. Now we can return to Earth to continue our training. I wonder what’s happened on Earth during all this time? My brother and I… we’ve been really irresponsible to our families,” Goku murmured. Clearly, he was impatient to go back, with a hint of guilt in his voice.
They hadn’t expected that once they came to North Kai, they wouldn’t be able to return midway.
Now that the training was finally done, not only Goku, Raditz too missed his wife and child dearly.
“Let’s go! Before we head home, we still need to enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber! Otherwise, we probably won’t get the chance for a while,” Raditz said, stepping forward and directly pointing out what needed to be done first.
Raditz understood his younger brother’s family situation, Chi-Chi wasn’t someone easily fooled.
Once Kakarot got home, he might not have any time left to visit the Time Chamber again.
He couldn’t just vanish on a whim again, that wouldn’t be very manly.
After all, they had already been away for a year and a half. To leave again shortly after returning, what woman would accept that?
In fact, not just Kakarot, Raditz faced the same situation.
His wife was very similar to Chi-Chi. While not as rigid, being gone so long and leaving again soon after returning, especially with their child having just been born, would certainly cause emotional turmoil.
Raditz also missed his child.

Otherwise, once home, they’d definitely be stuck there.
Originally, they planned to spar or talk with Piccolo first.
But upon learning Piccolo had already left Earth for training, both Goku and Raditz were shocked.
Only after asking Dende and Mr. Popo in detail did they learn that Piccolo and Vegeta had gone with Lin Chuan, to Universe 6…
That kind of intel was a gut punch for the two who had been burning with fighting spirit.
They felt like they had been tossed into an ice pit, deeply frustrated.
They had spent over a year and a half in the Other World just to achieve Super Saiyan God, unaware of how much had changed on Earth.
Back then, they had only learned that the Hyperbolic Time Chamber had been reopened, allowing for another three years of training.
They had expected Piccolo, Vegeta, and Lin Chuan’s powers to advance, but never imagined they had left the entire universe.
By comparison, it felt like they were frogs in a well while the others had already soared into the sky.
“Damn it! Though this training brought us to unprecedented heights, we missed out on so many opportunities,” Raditz clenched his fists, clearly venting his frustration.
Of course he was unwilling to accept this, but it was already reality.
“You can’t say it like that. Sure, we didn’t catch up, but we still reached Super Saiyan God! After three more years in the Time Chamber, I don’t think we’ll fall behind Piccolo or Vegeta. Plus, I’m confident I can catch up to Lin Chuan. Don’t forget what North Kai said, if we can pull it off, hehe…” said Goku.
He was feeling down too, but he remained confident and wouldn’t give up so easily.
If they admitted that the past year and a half was a failure, that would be denying themselves, and also their teachers, North Kai and even Grand Kai.
And so, with the help of Dende and Popo, Goku and Raditz entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for a second time.
Meanwhile,
Somewhere in the universe.
A massive spaceship cruised through space.
Etched atop it was a giant M symbol.
That’s right!
It was Babidi’s spaceship.
After over a year of hiding in deep space, Babidi had been hoarding wealth and gathering energy, also searching for powerful beings to serve as his subordinates.
Though his gains over the year were limited, he still managed to recruit several capable underlings.
Now, Babidi had arrived in the North Area of the Galaxy, not far from Earth.
Inside the main control chamber,
Babidi stood before a large crystal ball, beside him was his most trusted and relied-upon subordinate, King Dabura.
“Lord Babidi, we’re almost at Planet Vampa, but I haven’t sensed any strong energy signatures,” Dabura said to Babidi.
Their original target had been Earth, to search for Majin Buu’s sealed egg.
However, upon entering this star system, Babidi’s energy detector picked up a signal ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 Kiri.
In the universe, a being with even 1 Kiri was considered a terrifying presence on any planet.

A being over 10 Kiri was a top-level powerhouse of a star system.
At 100 Kiri, one would be a true overlord of a galactic sector.
At 800 Kiri, like the demonic beast Yego, such a being was a walking apocalypse, a terrifying monster wherever he went.
If it exceeded 1,000 Kiri, like Dabura, who had over 5,000 Kiri, that being would stand as the supreme king of the Demon Realm.
Babidi had been wandering the universe in secret, searching for powerful beings, and finally had Dabura under his control.
With Dabura, he no longer feared the Supreme Kai’s pursuit.
Now, having detected another being with over 1,000 Kiri, he had to recruit it.
But Babidi had no idea, the energy he sensed wasn’t from any ordinary being.
It was a super monster, banished as an infant to Planet Vampa, who had survived on the primitive world for nearly 30 years,
The true Legendary Super Saiyan, born once in a thousand years.
“There’s no mistake! A genius like me wouldn’t make a faulty instrument. Are you doubting it?” Babidi snapped, annoyed by Dabura’s skepticism.
Due to mind control, Dabura had no choice but to obey Babidi.
“I wouldn’t dare, Lord Babidi,” Dabura bowed deeply, showing loyalty.
Seeing this, Babidi said no more and stared at the detection device, “Strange… I shouldn’t be getting nothing. That being must be suppressing its life energy! No matter! Let’s land first. Planet Vampa isn’t big. If I’ve marked a being, they can’t escape! Kukuku~~!!”
“Yes, Lord Babidi…” Dabura winced, silently frustrated.
His master controlled him, and he couldn’t argue.
Honestly, Dabura thought, with him around, why did Babidi need other powerful subordinates?
No one was stronger than him!
Why even revive Majin Buu…
To Dabura, it made no sense that Babidi would ignore his own ultimate power and trust some mythical creature.
Of course, Dabura had no idea that, before Majin Buu, he really was an insect.
In the original story, trying to prove himself, he was turned into a cookie and eaten by Fat Buu.
He didn’t even know how he died, he just appeared in the afterlife.
Planet Vampa.
To survive, Broly, under the guidance of his father Paragus, was frantically stockpiling food for the coming three-month storm season.
Vampa was a wasteland planet with year-round extreme conditions, and three months of violent storms each year.
Only by hiding deep in mountains or underground could one barely survive.
Even with Saiyan durability, they couldn’t withstand it directly.
Paragus prepared this survival plan, but Broly didn’t even need it.
Still, to ensure they both lived, Paragus gathered as much food and water as possible.
Paragus blamed his situation on the malfunctioning ship ruined by Vampa’s beasts, and his own foolish decision to kill the accompanying technician.
That led to him and his son being stranded for decades.
Fortunately, as Saiyans, they could survive anywhere with food and water.
“Hurry up, Broly. The storm will arrive in less than two days. We must collect more supplies!” Paragus shouted while dragging barrels of food into a cave.
“Yes, Father,” Broly responded gently.
Broly? Gentle and obedient? Toward his father?
That’s right.
If Lin Chuan saw him, he’d recognize him instantly.
This was not the old, berserk Broly, but the new Broly introduced in the later Dragon Ball Super era.
Having spent his life with only his father, Broly had developed a gentle personality despite living on a savage planet.
In this timeline, Paragus had only Broly to rely on, and gave all his love to his son.
Growing up with a loving father versus a manipulative one makes a world of difference.
Just as the two continued preparing for survival,
Broly suddenly stopped and looked up at the sky.
Paragus, initially urging him on, followed his gaze.
What he saw made his pupils shrink.
A spaceship!
A gigantic spaceship!!
“After over twenty, no! Almost thirty years!!! I never thought I’d live to see a spaceship arrive at this worthless planet!” Paragus was moved to tears.
He wasted no time and burst into the sky with energy.
This was an opportunity he could not miss.
Even if not for himself, for his son!
If he could get that spaceship to land, they could escape this hellish planet.
Paragus was planning, ready for the worst.
But what he didn’t know was that his sudden energy burst had been noticed,
Inside the descending spaceship, Babidi saw everything.
The crystal ball in the control room projected Planet Vampa’s surface, locking onto Paragus’s presence due to the energy wave.
In the control room,
Babidi ran an energy scan on Paragus.
But after a full minute, there was no reading.
There was energy, but not even 0.01 Kiri.
Babidi didn’t realize that Paragus’s battle power was only a few thousand.
Even 10,000 battle power was just 0.001 Kiri.
“This isn’t the one. Got my hopes up for nothing. But according to the star charts, Planet Vampa shouldn’t have any human life. How did this guy get here?” Babidi asked, puzzled.
“Perhaps he crash-landed here during space travel. But Lord Babidi, I’ve detected a very strange energy. Look at the ground, another human,” Dabura reported.
The crystal ball quickly zoomed in and locked onto Broly’s figure.
“Hoh~! This human?”
Babidi eagerly picked up the Kiri detector again.
If it was over 1,000 Kiri, it would be perfect.
And if it were a humanoid, even better.
Creatures like Yego were obedient, but as beasts, they were hard to bring into public.
