Become My Follower

Chapter 58: Become My Follower

Though Mosen couldn’t understand why this spirited and unique Captain Gray seemed to dislike him, he decided not to hold it against her because she was pretty and had a good temperament.

“Captain Gray, please wait a moment. I left something on the merchant ship; I’ll go get it.”

Before she could respond, Mosen leapt away using Moonwalk, not waiting for her reaction.

Just because he wasn’t holding a grudge didn’t mean he had to tolerate her attitude.

Seriously, who isn’t good-looking? I’m so handsome and still kind to people.

Do I seem arrogant?

Retrieving his belongings from the room, Mosen shouldered his bag and ignored the ship captain’s attempts to curry favour.

Joking aside, where were you earlier? You didn’t care when you charged me extra; now that you know my identity, you want to befriend me?

Too late. Who knows you now? You’re lucky I’m not causing you trouble.

Ignoring such people, Mosen didn’t bother to acknowledge him further. After all, they had no further connection.

With a few jumps, Mosen was back beside Captain Gray, waiting for her to make arrangements.

Captain Gray, who was almost as tall as Mosen, gave him a cold look and led him to the second floor of the ship.

Knock, knock… Knock, knock…

They arrived at a door, and Gray gently knocked.

Creak.

The door opened to reveal a skinny boy with short blond hair and an X-shaped scar on his chin.

He exuded a weak, submissive aura.

“Drake, this is Mosen. He’ll be sharing the room with you during our return journey,” Captain Gray said, her voice softer.

Mosen felt a pang of jealousy. Same men, but why was she so gentle with him? I could have played the submissive role if I had known.

Having never seen someone so good-looking, Drake was initially surprised by Mosen’s appearance. But his expression soon calmed, indicating he had shed much of the trauma he had before joining the ship.

“Hello, I’m Drake!” he greeted Mosen.

“Marine Headquarters’ most handsome soldier, Mosen!”

Gray and Drake were stunned, clearly having never met someone so shameless.

Gray’s face turned slightly green with irritation.

Drake, perhaps never having encountered such a character in his nineteen years, awkwardly smiled and said, “Well, come in.”

Turning, he led Mosen inside.

Mosen flashed a mysterious smile at Gray before following Drake inside.

A cold snort followed by receding footsteps could be heard behind him.

Mosen began to survey the room, which wasn’t much. It had a bunk bed, a desk, and a clothes rack – that was it.

Mosen didn’t mind; he had endured worse conditions for long periods.

Although he had paid a hefty sum for his previous stay on the merchant ship, it wasn’t much better than this.

Throwing his backpack onto the empty top bunk, Mosen sat on a chair next to the desk.

He spoke with the somewhat reserved Drake: “Was this room originally a female soldier’s dormitory?”

Drake hesitated before answering, “Yes, this was Captain Gray’s room. She let me use it after they rescued me.”

Mosen’s eyes lit up.

He got up and closed the door, speaking with an ambiguous tone: “I noticed many similar rooms next door. Are they all female soldiers’ dormitories?”

Drake’s face darkened, starting to catch on.

“Yes.”

“You must have been really lucky these past days!”

Mosen’s envy was evident. In the six years since arriving in this world, except for his first two years in a small village, he had spent the remaining four years in the military camp.

Seeing so many female soldiers today was more than he had seen in the past few years combined.

He felt a pang of sorrow!

“Drake, so you… wait, your name is Drake?” Mosen seemed to recall something, feeling the name was familiar.

Wasn’t there a supernova named Drake later on? A naval defector.

Could it be this guy?

What was his full name again? Can’t quite remember.

However, a supernova should have decent talent and abilities.

Drake was puzzled; did someone else have the same name?

“Yes, my name is Drake. Do you know another Drake?”

Mosen laughed and changed the subject. He was just confirming; after meeting big names like Sengoku, Garp, and Zephyr, a future supernova wasn’t a big deal to him.

Still, since they met, it wouldn’t be bad to recruit him in the future. Then, he could be a hands-off boss.

“So, Drake, would you like to be my follower?”

Drake couldn’t quite follow his logic. Who recruits a follower upon first meeting?

His repressed personality, stemming from years under his father’s thumb, made it hard for him to refuse outright.

“Well, I’ll consider it.”

“Haha, no need to think about it. It’s settled; I’ll look after you.”

Can I refuse?

Drake’s face twisted in conflict.

In the captain’s office of the battleship, Vice Admiral Tsuru was handling documents.

Captain Gray stood across the desk, speaking, “Vice Admiral, is it alright? Our female soldiers have been agitated since meeting Mosen, and I don’t think he has good intentions.”

Finishing a document, Vice Admiral Tsuru placed her pen back in the holder and addressed Gray, “Gray, you’re too sensitive. Mosen’s personality is like this. He’s always been this way at headquarters.” Pausing, she continued, “Besides, I doubt someone as outstanding as him would be interested in the soldiers on this ship. His standards are likely very high.”

Looking at her deputy with amusement, she added, “Among all the soldiers, only you, Gray, might catch his eye.”

Gray’s face showed a hint of irritation, quickly replaced by a serious expression. “Vice Admiral, I’ve dedicated my life to justice and won’t consider personal matters.”

Tsuru sighed, “You’re too rigid, Gray.”

Gray remained stern and didn’t respond.

Tsuru stopped teasing and leaned back in her chair. “From tomorrow, have Mosen and Drake join the regular training. Observe Mosen’s training intensity; our soldiers have much to learn about hard work.”

Seeing Gray’s discontent and wanting to speak, Tsuru waved her off. “Go make the arrangements. You’ll understand tonight.”

Though unwilling, Gray complied, her expression even colder.

Once her deputy left, Tsuru picked up a nearby document.

Mumbling to herself, her voice lingered in the room.

“Zephyr, you’ve raised another remarkable monster!”
