Daily Life in One Piece Chapter 69

What a Coincidence

Pulling off a slick escape, Mosen felt utterly satisfied.

He couldn’t care less about Akainu’s reaction. After all, he was never on good terms with Akainu, so offending him didn’t matter.

To Mosen, the Navy was just a job, not a mission driven by a sense of justice.

If he cared about justice, he’d have joined the Revolutionary Army led by Dragon. The greatest evil in this world stemmed from the oppressive rule of the World Nobles.

While the Navy fought pirates in the name of justice, they essentially upheld the rule of the Celestial Dragons.

Mosen understood this better than anyone.

What gave him a sense of belonging were the respectable individuals he met, a group that did not include Akainu.

In some respects, Akainu was admirable, but their principles diverged.

So, Mosen ignored the enraged Akainu, sheathed his sword, and led the two kids back home.

Soon, news of Mosen’s fight with Risti spread through the headquarters, overshadowing his promotion to Captain and becoming the hottest topic.

Dominating the headlines, Mosen knew he was the talk of the town.

Unfortunately,

He was unaware that he occupied the top two trending charts.

At that moment, he was taking the two kids to Sabaody Archipelago.

Indeed, a vacation with a bit of sightseeing would be worthwhile.

Moreover, unlike his previous life, where holidays were scarce and always crowded with people,

Here, the presence of attractive girls usually meant they were guarded or surrounded by people.

As a single, overweight nerd, he was constantly fed a diet of dog food.

He could handle this, but seeing two beautiful girls getting cosy and intimate right in front of him was unbearable.

Every time, he wanted to rush over and say,

“Let go of each other, come at me instead!”

These scenes weren’t just heartbreaking but also gut-wrenching.

Now, he, Vincent, and Leaf had rented a bubble bike.

Poor Vincent was pushed to the front, pedalling, while Mosen and Leaf sat comfortably behind.

He kept thinking to himself: “Three years minimum, maximum death penalty.”

Mosen diverted his gaze from the cute 13-year-old Leaf’s face and her flat chest… well, mainly her face, leaning back in his seat.

He gazed at the sky, watching the beautiful rainbows and colourful bubbles in the sunlight.

The two kids, having never seen such scenery, were mesmerised.

“Wow, Mosen, look at that huge bubble.”

“Ah… that one’s even bigger. So pretty.”

Leaf held a cotton candy in one hand and a lollipop in the other, her eyes almost squinting shut from the sweetness.

But she kept looking at the surrounding scenery, her eyes wide with wonder, and her dimples showed, making her look extremely cute.

Mosen couldn’t help but think of Kino. He wondered how she was doing and planned to visit her soon. He could bring her over if she still wanted to join the Navy.

Little did he know, Kino was looking at his picture in the newspaper, thinking of joining the Navy.

Destiny works in mysterious ways.

“Hey, dear brother, your pace is too slow,” Mosen said lazily.

Vincent shot him a dirty look.

“Who’s the lazy one here, refusing to rent another bike and mooching off mine?”

Vincent retorted.

“Hey? Leaf,

Vincent says you’re lazy and a freeloader,” Mosen immediately tattled, saying it was Leaf who was lazy.

“Hehe, I’ll forgive him since he’s working so hard. I’ll just beat him up next time during sword practice.”

Leaf was too busy enjoying her treats to care about Vincent.

Vincent was shocked!

Is she blind? Doesn’t she know who I was talking about?

Even though he knew his brother’s ways, he was still shocked at Mosen’s shamelessness.

Now, even his only friend here had turned against him.

What could he do but keep pedalling as a labourer?

Sabaody Archipelago, Area 30, Amusement Park.

A pink-haired woman in a crimson professional outfit that accentuated her figure—Marine Lieutenant Tina.

Beside her, a young man in an off-white casual shirt, black trousers, and long leather boots. A stark change from his usual short white jacket. With short silver hair and two cigars in his mouth, he was none other than the former troublemaker of the Navy—Smoker.

“Hey, Smoker, hurry up. Tina’s been waiting forever,” the pink-haired beauty urged, annoyed.

“Shut up. What’s so fun about this place anyway? And why do I have to carry all this stuff?”

Smoker was equally annoyed, thinking bringing Tina along for a break was a bad decision.

The poor Captain… oh, Lieutenant, had both arms laden with shopping bags.

From the various names on the bags, it was clear most of them were women’s clothing and snacks.

Smoker swore never to shop with a woman again.

The idea was to relax at Sabaody, but Tina dragged him straight to the shopping district.

As a straight-laced Marine whose only focus was pirates, Smoker had no idea how terrifying women shopping could be, even if the woman was a Marine Lieutenant.

After hours of shopping, he felt overwhelmed.

Even he was forced into a men’s store and had his outfit changed by Tina.

Although he wasn’t used to it, he did look much fresher and cleaner.

And now they were heading to an amusement park, much to Smoker’s dismay.

Tina, growing impatient, turned back to drag the reluctant Smoker towards the entrance to buy tickets.

At the same time, Mosen and the kids were also heading towards the amusement park entrance.

For this outing, Mosen had changed his clothes again.

His shirt from the fight had gotten worn, so he switched to a new shirt and jeans.

As they strolled towards the amusement park, Mosen spotted a pink-haired beauty ahead and then recognised Smoker.

At first, he didn’t recognise him since Smoker’s short jacket was such a trademark look.

No, it wasn’t that his attention was all on the beautiful Tina.

Seeing a familiar face was always a joy.

Especially an old friend he hadn’t seen in a while, and it looked like there was some chemistry here.

Mosen stepped forward and slapped Smoker’s shoulder, smiling: “Hey, Smoker, what a coincidence.”
