Pica changed into the Hyper Time Battle Suit and hurried towards the Time Nest with Lint. Every step sent waves of pain through his muscles. “Lint, slow down a bit. I can barely keep up,” he said, stumbling and almost falling.
“Are you alright?” Lint asked respectfully, walking over. Pica raised his hand and took deep breaths, “I just finished training, my body is too tired. Let me eat a Senzu Bean…”
Before Pica could finish, Lint hoisted him onto his shoulder and rushed towards the Time Nest. “Sorry, Mr. Pica, but we’re running out of time. This situation seems serious.”
In an instant, Lint traversed two streets, his movements causing Pica to be jostled. With Lint’s shoulder pressing into his stomach, every step made Pica feel like his insides were churning.
Great, I just had that exquisite Ginseng King Feast this morning, Pica thought, feeling dizzy and weak, drooling slightly as he lay limply on Lint’s shoulder.
“Master Trunks, Mr. Pica is here,” Lint said respectfully, placing the fainted Pica on the ground.
Pica wobbled to his feet, seeing stars and grabbing a black cloth to wipe his mouth. Leaning on Lint’s shoulder, he said, “Sorry, my stomach feels really upset.” He barely managed to hold back from vomiting.
Trunks, observing Pica’s back, felt a fleeting sense of familiarity. “Father? No, it’s not him,” he thought, smiling wistfully. His father couldn’t possibly be here.
“Hey, Trunks, long time no see,” Pica greeted, raising a weak hand, looking exhausted and pale.
Trunks looked puzzled. “What happened to you?”
“Nothing much, just finished training and got dragged here. I’m a bit worn out.”
“My apologies for being careless,” Lint said, bowing at a ninety-degree angle in apology.
Pica waved it off. “It’s alright. You’re just doing your duty for the Time Nest. I don’t blame you.”
Trunks tossed a Senzu Bean to Pica, who fumbled to catch it. “This is a Senzu Bean. Eat it and you’ll recover.”
“Thanks,” Pica said, swallowing the bean whole. Instantly, his energy returned, washing away all fatigue. “Thanks, Trunks. So, what’s the issue this time?” Pica asked, walking to the conference table.
Trunks frowned, a bit helpless. “That group tampered with history again. Damn it.” He punched the table in frustration, showing a mix of anger and helplessness. “If it weren’t for my presence in that timeline, I’d want to confront those bastards myself.”
The reason Trunks couldn’t participate in previous missions to restore history was due to his existence in those timelines. His presence could cause a butterfly effect. Although he had repaired histories in other universes, he couldn’t intervene in his own universe’s timeline. Even if he wanted to, the Supreme Kai of Time wouldn’t allow it.
“This time, the point in history is?”
“AGE 351.”
Pica was shocked. Isn’t this too early? That was around the time when Mutaito was still alive. “So early, how is this possible?”
Trunks placed the Book of Endings and Beginnings before Pica. After looking through it, Pica frowned. They had corrupted none other than his mentor, Master Roshi. A hint of killing intent flashed in Pica’s eyes. “Leave this mission to me. I’ll resolve it quickly.”
A pink figure approached Pica from behind. “Kid, don’t be so arrogant. Many have died because of their pride.”
The sound of high heels clicking echoed. Pica turned to see a short-haired girl with tan skin, wearing a long robe that exposed her slender arms and small chest. She stood with her hands on her hips, her dark eyes full of life.
“Hello!” the girl greeted Trunks with a wave.
Trunks stretched his neck, looking slightly embarrassed. “Uh… hello!” he said, then turned to Pica and Lint to introduce the girl. “This is the master of the Time Nest.”
As he spoke, he made a series of awkward gestures, while the girl posed behind him. Trunks’ face was sweaty, but it was clear he had practiced this introduction many times. “She is the Supreme Kai of Time. Despite appearances, she holds a very high position and has a great reputation in the universe.”
Trunks clenched his fists and bowed. “She oversees the flow of time across the entire universe.” Behind him, the Supreme Kai of Time struck a victory pose, her head tilted with a cute smile.
As Trunks introduced her, a bird landed on the Supreme Kai of Time’s head, its tail feathers covering her face.
Trunks, looking nervous, reached out to grab the bird. “What… what are you doing?”
The bird stretched its neck. “Caw… ha…”
She brushed away the tail feathers, and the bird flew off. “Damn it! Do you know what you’re doing?” the Supreme Kai of Time yelled, waving her arms.
The bird flapped its wings and squawked, “Caw… caw…”
“What’s wrong with you today? Why did you land on my head?” the Supreme Kai of Time shouted.
“Caw caw caw…”
“Shut up!! I don’t care if you’re angry, apologize now!” The girl and the bird argued, while Pica, Trunks, and Lint watched in stunned silence. Pica remembered seeing a video of this amusing scene and couldn’t believe he was witnessing it firsthand.
The argument turned into a chase, with the Supreme Kai of Time running after the bird. Trunks turned to Pica and Lint, awkwardly saying, “As I said… she’s a very important deity… really…” His words trailed off as even he doubted them, ending with an embarrassed smile.
Trunks then addressed the Supreme Kai of Time, “Um, Supreme Kai of Time?”
She turned to look at Trunks, waved her hand dismissively, “Uh, sorry, sorry.”
“So, you must be the warrior summoned by Shenron. Hello, I’m the Supreme Kai of Time,” she said, hands on her hips, exuding an air of authority.
Trunks pointed to the Supreme Kai of Time, explaining to Pica, “Uh… maybe she doesn’t look it, but her status in the universe is extremely high…”
Pica didn’t know what to say and just nodded in agreement with everything. Lint, on the other hand, had his worldview completely shattered. In his mind, the Supreme Kai of Time was a highly dignified deity. Seeing her in person today had utterly crushed his beliefs.
