Without the soil to slow them down, their speed increased significantly as they headed towards the rendezvous point.
Before the mission began, the Root had meticulously planned the route to extract Naruto. This carefully chosen path not only had the shortest distance to Danzo’s position but also minimized the risk of being discovered.
Gan and Bun were unsure if Miraihad had noticed Naruto’s disappearance. The operation’s steps had been rehearsed numerous times, swiftly and precisely, with an extremely low probability of exposure.
But they couldn’t afford to gamble.
Mirai was a man even Lord Danzo feared.
If Mirai had indeed noticed, he was undoubtedly on his way. Confronting Mirai head-on, the two of them were indeed dead.
They had to transfer Naruto to Danzo as quickly as possible. Danzo and many Roots were waiting just outside the Uchiha compound. If they could reach them, even if Mirai pursued, the Root could hold him off.

Danzo’s single eye scanned the unconscious Naruto.
Several Root members stepped forward, picking up Naruto and moving him behind Danzo.
After a thorough check to confirm that Naruto was unharmed, Danzo’s eyes gleamed with satisfaction.
“Good! Very good!”
Using two consecutive ‘very goods’ could barely express Danzo’s delight.
In the end, the Jinchuriki was in his hands.
“Shisui, did you think I couldn’t take the Jinchuriki without your help?”
Thinking of Shisui’s defiance, Danzo snorted coldly.

Panic, shock, and horror spread among them.
In mere seconds, the Root member was lifeless, his eyes rolled back, drooling like a corpse.
“Damn it! What’s going on?!”
Danzo’s single eye reddened with blood vessels, glaring at the horrifying corpse.
The two Root members who had brought Naruto were stunned, stepping back in fear.
“We… we don’t know…”
Danzo turned his burning gaze to the two.
“Idiots! Did you notice nothing strange when you brought the Jinchuriki?”
Staring into Danzo’s piercing eye, the two Root members hastily knelt, cold sweat dripping.
“Lord Danzo, we knocked out the Jinchuriki and came here immediately. We noticed nothing unusual!”
As Root members, they were well aware of Danzo’s methods!
Their nerves were on edge.
They focused entirely on their task during the return, missing signs of the Jinchuriki’s changes.
Danzo’s expression was like he had swallowed a toad, looking utterly wretched.

Likely, Mirai was already on his way here.
