From this vantage point, one could overlook the entire battlefield.
Holding onto Namikaze Mirai’s finger, Naruto looked at the scene with confusion. He raised his head and asked.
“Uncle, why are they fighting?”
Namikaze Mirai ruffled Naruto’s blond hair and smiled gently.
“Because they are pawns of the ones in power.”
“Pawns?”
“This world has too much killing, too much fighting. The decisions of those in power can bring endless conflicts. That’s why I, your uncle, want to change this world.”
There was a hint of melancholy in Namikaze Mirai’s voice.
Standing behind them, Itachi Uchiha listened thoughtfully.
At just four years old, he witnessed a battle during the Third Shinobi World War under the guidance of his father, Fugaku, much like Naruto was now with Namikaze Mirai.
The bloody scenes and his father’s teachings were deeply ingrained in Itachi’s memory.
Compared to Namikaze Mirai’s, his father’s words were more brutal and less philosophical.
Namikaze Mirai was too gentle.
He shielded Naruto from the bloodshed.
So gentle that Naruto didn’t even realize this was a cruel war.
“Naruto, do you want to see fireworks?”
Namikaze Mirai smiled at Naruto.
“Fireworks?”
Naruto tilted his head.
“I do, but Uncle, there are no fireworks here, right?”
There was no place for fireworks besides the people fighting below on the vast plain.
Naruto was confused, wondering how his uncle would set off fireworks.
“Watch carefully, Naruto.”
With Naruto’s expectant gaze on him, Namikaze Mirai smiled lightly and extended a finger, pointing toward the battlefield.
Both sides of the conflict, whether Kumogakure or Konoha, suddenly noticed in shock that all the metallic objects on them, like kunai and shuriken, began to float strangely!
In an instant, a miraculous scene unfolded on the battlefield.
Kunai, shuriken, and countless ninja swords gathered in the air to form a massive metal sphere.
As more metal objects joined, the sphere grew larger.
The bizarre sight caused many shinobi on the battlefield to stop and look up at the giant metal sphere in the sky in awe.
Among the Kumogakure shinobi, some who had experienced the Third Shinobi World War seemed to remember something.
Their hearts raced with sudden realization!
They shouted in a gut-wrenching warning!
“Run!!!”
On the hill, Namikaze Mirai smiled lightly.
“Naruto, watch carefully. The fireworks are about to explode!”
He pointed his finger gently.
Boom!!!
The giant metal sphere suspended above the battlefield exploded with a roar. In a blaze of fire, countless metal pieces, trailing fiery tails like meteors, rained down on the Kumogakure forces.
Screams and wails!
Echoed across the battlefield in an instant.
Countless Kumogakure shinobi were pierced by the metal. The searing hot metal, wrapped in flames, burned through flesh upon contact, creating ghastly holes.
The Kumogakure shinobi who didn’t die immediately rolled on the ground, screaming in agony, as fear enveloped their ranks.
The visible thinning of the Kumogakure forces was apparent.
This single “firework” wiped out one-third of the Kumogakure forces’ combat power!
“Naruto, how did Uncle’s fireworks look?”
Namikaze Mirai ruffled Naruto’s hair with a wide smile.
“They were amazing!”
Naruto was so delighted he almost jumped up.
From this carefully chosen vantage point, Naruto couldn’t see the bloody scenes on the battlefield. From his perspective, it looked like a massive metal firework burst in the sky, turning into countless falling stars.
Behind them, Itachi swallowed hard, staring at Namikaze Mirai’s calm back.
So strong! Too strong!
Was this the power of his teacher?
Casually destroying thirty percent of the Kumogakure forces.
Like a god.
At the rear of the Kumogakure forces, Dodai, the commander, watched the scene on the battlefield with bloodshot eyes.
His gaze was fixed on the hilltop!
Fixed on that blond figure!
“Namikaze Mirai!”
He ground out the name through gritted teeth, almost word by word.
He knew they had lost this battle.
Continuing would only increase their losses.
“Retreat! Retreat!!!”
Dodai’s shout, amplified by chakra, echoed across the battlefield.
Hearing the command, the already terrified Kumogakure shinobi fled in a panic like a receding tide.
“We won! We won!”
The Konoha shinobi cheered loudly, watching the scene.
“Lord Inoichi, should we pursue?”
The Konoha shinobi looked at Yamanaka Inoichi.
After a moment’s thought, Yamanaka Inoichi shook his head.
“Don’t chase cornered enemies. Preserving our strength is more important. Besides, we should welcome our most esteemed guest.”
The Konoha forces were elated, cheering and rejoicing.
The pent-up frustrations from previous defeats were finally released. The Konoha shinobi had never felt so proud and vindicated.
“Fantastic! That was amazing!”
“I’ve never felt this great before!”
They looked at the approaching Uchiha clan members with newfound respect.
These Uchiha, despite their usual arrogance, fought fiercely in battle!
Yamanaka Inoichi remained silent, looking in a certain direction.
The Konoha forces, who had been celebrating just a moment ago, suddenly fell silent.
All eyes turned to the same spot.
The golden hair glistened in the sunlight as Namikaze Mirai, holding Naruto’s hand, walked toward the center of the crowd.
“Mirai, with you here, I’m relieved.”
Yamanaka Inoichi spoke with a complicated expression.
During the Third Shinobi World War, he and Minato had fought in many battles together, and he had a good relationship with Namikaze Mirai as well.
With Namikaze Mirai now here to support them, the burden on him was finally lifted.
…
In Kumogakure,
The Fourth Raikage, A, was waiting for battlefield reports in the Raikage’s office.
He was in a relaxed mood.
This battle was in Kumogakure’s favor!
After the Nine-Tails attack, Konoha’s strength was already in decline, and Namikaze Mirai had recently destroyed Root.
The current Konoha couldn’t withstand Kumogakure’s ironclad forces.
The reports from previous battles confirmed this.
Every battle had ended in a decisive victory for Kumogakure.
At this rate, they would likely receive Konoha’s surrender even sooner than expected.
“Lord Raikage, this is the latest report from the battlefield.”
A scout handed him a scroll.
“Finally, some news?”
A opened it eagerly.
His smile froze instantly!
“L-Lost?!”
He held his breath, scanning the scroll’s contents, and the more he read, the more cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
“Namikaze Mirai joined the battle? And the Uchiha clan too?”
“Damn it! What are they trying to do?!”
A wave of suffocating pressure enveloped A.
He shouted in alarm.
“Quickly, fetch Yugito Nii!”
