Marvel Princess Chapter 79

The Demon Hunters

Sho ignored everything around her and continued to absorb energy. Bella glanced over, noticing it was just a regular firearm and didn’t take it seriously. She resumed her slaughter.

The ghost of the curly-haired man was strong. A black vortex of killing intent emanated from his spirit, forcibly breaking Sho’s hold and leaving the white-clad ghost momentarily stunned.

Constance was furious. She gripped the gun with both hands and fired repeatedly at Bella.

Bella gracefully dodged the bullets, about to say something witty when she realized her mistake. The old woman was cunning; the gunshots were so loud, how could the Harmon couple upstairs not hear them?

The gunshots not only triggered the house’s alarm system but also drew the attention of the police.

Bella didn’t want to expose herself to everyone’s scrutiny, meaning tonight’s operation had to end.

“I’ll be back!” She left with a classic line, called out to Sho, and summoned the ghostly pickup truck.

They calmly got into the truck, hit the gas, and drove through the walls, vanishing from the basement as if into thin air.

As expected, the Harmon couple, still living in the house, was alarmed. They hurriedly called the police. One by one, the ghosts disappeared. Under the mocking smile of the old maid, Constance fled the haunted house through another exit.

The Harmons called security and the police, causing a commotion throughout the night but found nothing.

“It’s sad. Do you think they know their daughter is dead?” Bella asked Sho as they sat in the truck outside the haunted house.

Harmon’s daughter was clearly lying by the basement exit, but neither had touched her.

The pickup was still in ghost mode. Several police cars passed by, but no one noticed them.

“Take me home.”

“You mean they subconsciously know but don’t want to accept it?”

Bella shook her head and sighed. Death is irreversible. She could have saved the girl if Charlie’s family had arrived earlier. A pretty young girl dying like this was such a waste. Judging by the timeline, the girl died while they were still taking refuge in Tucson. If Charlie’s family had arrived later or not at all, they could have resolved their misunderstandings and been reunited, albeit in a different form.

The current situation was awkward.

The couple vaguely knew something was wrong with their daughter. In their daily lives, they saw her not eating, not going to school, and having no social interactions, but they didn’t want to face the truth.

Their relationship was already gone. If they knew their only daughter was dead, breaking the last bond, would they have any happiness left?

If all three died, understood each other’s feelings, and continued to exist as ghosts in the haunted house, it might be a blessing for this family.

“What should I do? Should I just eliminate the ghosts and make the Harmons leave Los Angeles, or let them reunite?”

“Take me home.”

“You’re so heartless! Were you also emotionally indifferent in life? Never mind, let’s head back and come back tomorrow!”

Bella sharply turned the steering wheel, driving away from the haunted house.

Is life more important, or are emotions, love, and family? This question truly stumped her.

If she didn’t intervene, the Harmons would live happily ever after, at the cost of the couple’s lives.

If she did intervene, she might save their lives, but knowing their daughter’s death could drive Mrs. Harmon insane or to suicide, and Dr. Harmon would live in endless pain and regret, likely ending his life with a bullet.

From her perspective, she wanted to save lives, but those lives would be like the walking dead, making her rescue efforts meaningless.

What to do? What to do? Back in her room, Bella tossed and turned, making Natasha look at her strangely the next morning.

“If you can’t help yourself, do it quietly. I don’t mind, but keep the noise down.”

“Gah? What are you talking about?”

Though Bella hadn’t figured out the Harmon family’s issue, eliminating the other ghosts was definitely right.

The next evening, Bella kept her promise, driving the pickup back into the haunted house for another round of slaughter.

Without Constance to gather the ghosts, they were scattered. Bella and Sho spent the entire night and only managed to kill three ghosts, including the old maid, who seemingly gave up and offered herself.

Harmon’s daughter’s ghost was spared again, as Bella hadn’t decided how to handle the Harmon family.

On the third night, they killed four ghosts.

On the fourth night, Bella and Sho continued their ghost hunt. She planned to deal with the complicated ones later. Ghosts, once killed, wouldn’t respawn, so killing was the solution.

“Hmm?” Driving the pickup, they phased through walls to the basement, planning to work their way up. But as soon as they entered the basement, they felt wrapped in a dense energy web. The ghost pickup became visible, and Sho seemed paralyzed as if something heavy was crushing her.

Bella quickly tried to reverse, but the pickup lost its phasing ability and couldn’t pass through the walls.

“What the heck?! An anti-magic array?” She looked up and saw a giant seven-pointed star with Hebrew inscriptions and a lifelike scorpion in the center.

She didn’t understand the principles but knew it was advanced, involving ancient knowledge of heaven and hell. Many wizards might not understand it either, merely copying the design.

The anti-magic array was effective, rendering the formidable ghost Sho immobile.

But destroying the array was easier than creating it.

Bella drew her gun, aiming at the critical points of the array to break it.

Suddenly, she saw a glint of black—a shotgun barrel!

Unlike handguns, it was faster and more powerful. Bella didn’t dare take the hit, ducking back into the truck.

“Bang, bang!” Gunshots rang out.

“What the hell?” Seeing white salt scatter, she was momentarily stunned. What was this? A salt salesman?

Then she realized it was a typical demon hunter’s tactic. They thought she was a demon!
