This father and son don’t exhibit any extraordinary qualities, but Bella recalls that the future of Dean Winchester, the son, is remarkable. He is supposed to be a vessel for a major archangel, Michael, or someone else.
Archangels have been out of Bella’s league for a long time, so her interest has dwindled significantly.
“You can leave now,” she said, lowering her gun and turning to leave with Shao. As they walked away, she suddenly paused, struck by a thought.
“I have this dilemma. Since you two are experienced hunters, you can offer some advice on what I should do.
She explained the problem of whether to reunite the family of three or save the couple and let them suffer a lifetime of pain.
“What should I do? Should I help the Harmon couple leave Los Angeles or let them reunite with their daughter? Any good suggestions?” she asked.
Father and son responded simultaneously.
“Help the couple leave Los Angeles. I’m sure their daughter wouldn’t want her parents to die with her,” suggested Dean Winchester, the son.
Father John Winchester had a different idea: “Family is the most important thing. If the couple loves their daughter, it might not be such a bad thing to be together.”
Bella bit her lip, realizing the father and son’s opinions were split, making her question pointless.
“See you later, gentlemen,” she said, driving away and leaving the father and son to sigh in contemplation.
The Harmon couple handed over the keys a day later and officially left Los Angeles.
Bella and Shao chose the most conservative approach.
Together, they sealed the couple’s memories of their daughter. The memory span was too long to completely erase.
For the Harmon couple, their daughter’s memories became scattered fragments. Lacking a critical link, the brain automatically deems the information unimportant and burys it deep in their minds.
The Harmon couple’s daughter was gone, or this family was on the brink of collapse, but they still had each other and could continue their lives.
Divorce, remarry, have another child—perhaps that was their fate.
Living was always better than dying, right?
Bella and her family of four roamed their new home, admiring its castle-like grandeur.
Hidden in the shadows, the Winchester father and son confirmed their identities.
Charlie and Samantha’s records weren’t hard to find; they weren’t undercover agents. Their public records were accessible.
They had badges, offices, superiors, and subordinates, undoubtedly two Los Angeles detectives. That was indisputable.
Their house purchase process seemed clean, with no signs of money laundering. As for buying a haunted house and coincidentally having a daughter who could exorcise spirits, it was an improbable event but not impossible.
The ghosts were just unlucky!
Dean Winchester wore a playful smile, pulling out a cigarette, but the movement drew the family’s attention.
Father and son quickly ducked, holding their breath.
“They’re really sharp,” Dean whispered once the family lost interest.
“Well, they are detectives. It’s normal,” his father, John Winchester, replied, somewhat envious of the family’s formidable setup.
Two detectives capable of independently managing a small town, their skills, and marksmanship wouldn’t be lacking. They realized she was formidable after interacting with Bella and seeing her in action. They didn’t expect the youngest girl to also be sharp-eyed and quick. What kind of family was this?
It’s not worth provoking!
“The girl who controls spirits seems to be studying at Stanford, same as Sam,” Dean noted with interest.
John sighed, “I hope Sam stays away from our world.”
The father and son planned their retreat, but Shao appeared behind them, blocking their path.
“Is there something you need?” John asked.
“Take me home.”
The father and son were baffled, but Shao handed them a note, clearing their confusion.
John read it carefully and passed it to Dean. They whispered and then agreed, “Alright, we’ll take care of it. You’ll relay this to her, right?”
Shao nodded, saying, “Take me home,” as she disappeared.
“She’s really good at giving orders,” Dean couldn’t help but complain.
John’s attitude was much more accepting, “This job is just laborious but not dangerous. Making a connection could be useful someday. I’ll prepare things, and we’ll go tonight.”
That afternoon at 2 PM, Bella and her family flew out of Los Angeles to Fox Town for the wedding. Fox Town held special significance for Charlie, and Samantha wanted to spend a few days there.
That evening, the Winchester father and son returned to the haunted house with tools, ready to work.
Dig up the bodies, then burn them!
Those in the know are aware that the Winchester brothers have a unique skill in grave digging!
A standard grave, two and a half meters long, one and a half meters wide, and one meter eight deep, typically requiring three strong men a whole day to dig, could be done by the brothers in no time! And that’s at night, with one digging and the other holding a flashlight.
Digging, opening coffins, finding bodies, salting, oiling, and finally setting them on fire—this was the Winchesters’ secret technique for exorcising demons and roaming the world. Although the younger Winchester was still in school, the father-son duo wasn’t much less effective.
Except for the Harmons ‘ daughter, Bella had thoroughly cleared the haunted house of spirits.
She marked all the buried bodies’ locations, now handled by the Winchesters.
Constance fled. Bella didn’t want to burden Charlie with these troubles, which were now left to the Winchesters. They had their own police connections and could issue a warrant, ensuring Constance would never dare return to Los Angeles.
Initially, the father and son were pleased, thinking it was just some labor. The spirits were already dealt with, making the job safe. It was just a bit strenuous but worth earning a favor.
By 3:15 AM, they were struggling.
Too many bodies! They were buried haphazardly, scattered all over.
The front and back yards were pockmarked with holes, resembling a missile-struck area. The air reeked of oil, salt, and rotting flesh.
