Bella’s array of psychic spells had nothing to do with the heart. They were two different things entirely. However, psychic power, based on one’s mind, could cover reality, defying both science and logic.
While completely healing someone was difficult, she could restore their heart to normal for a short time.
“Huh? What’s this?” The seemingly floor-bound 006 suddenly felt much lighter.
Everything was so incredible. Despite the twists and turns, he confirmed Bella’s genuine abilities. He needed her power to find his wife and daughter.
To gain Bella’s assistance, 006 revealed his cards early.
“I know you went through the Spider Incident in Prosperity Town. I’ve investigated this matter. If all the intelligence is correct, Israel’s Mossad was behind it. No matter how powerful an individual is, it’s hard to fight a sovereign nation, especially a world-renowned intelligence organization like Mossad. I can help you with this.
If you need any further intelligence in the future, I will provide it.”
His words made Bella ponder. The Prosperity Town incident was a painful memory for their family. Although they escaped unscathed, the event significantly traumatized Samantha and Natasha, and even Charlie was left with some psychological scars. Their peaceful date had been utterly ruined.
Bella wasn’t consumed by rage, but a sense of shared enmity still lingered. She knew Natasha was secretly investigating as well, but S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn’t a charity. To gain something, you had to offer something in return. Natasha, being relatively inexperienced, had no clear leads.
006, a seasoned agent with his own small intelligence network, was offering information and future assistance in exchange. Bella found this tempting.
However, rescuing people from this particular place was extremely dangerous, prompting her to ask, “Are you sure your wife and daughter went to Silent Hill? And you haven’t been able to contact them since?”
006 analyzed the information from her question: “You know Silent Hill? This place is very dangerous, according to your knowledge?”
Is Silent Hill dangerous? It was certainly not a friendly place. Bella carefully assessed her abilities: “Mr. Eric, I might be able to rescue your wife and daughter, but I won’t investigate the truth behind Silent Hill, nor can I solve your daughter’s sleepwalking issue. The only solution I see is to get them far away from the U.S., as far as possible.”
006, visibly moved, nodded firmly: “No problem. I’ll send them to Europe, where they will never return to America. Please, use your mysterious power to save my wife and daughter!”
In truth, the whole Silent Hill issue stemmed from 006’s wife’s folly, insisting on investigating some so-called truth. One word to describe her actions: foolish.
Moving far away, Bella didn’t believe Silent Hill’s will could reach Europe.
As an expert in Indian culture, Bella knew that Silent Hill was merely an ancestral land for the Indians. Its ancient name was the resting place of silent spirits. The power beneath that land wasn’t inherently good or evil; it was a nightmare created after white people arrived in the New World.
Escape quickly, save the people, and it’s over.
It wasn’t easy, but not overly difficult either.
She thought for a moment: “Mr. Eric, your love for your wife and daughter is commendable. I agree to this deal.”
Bella mentally reviewed her various psychic spells: “I also need some weapons, modern ones, guns—the more, the better!”
006 looked puzzled: “Don’t you need crosses, holy water, or things like that?”
Bella stared at him silently.
“OK, OK, I won’t ask. Consider it done. I’ll handle everything.” 006, eager for action, had plenty of weapons and equipment.
“What kind of weapons do you need? Mk23 pistols? M4A1 rifles? SR-47 assault rifles? M1 shotguns?” He chuckled: “You wouldn’t want Javelin anti-tank missiles, would you?”
Bella gritted her teeth: “I want them all!!”
Pistols were essential, rifles had great power, so bring them. Grenade launchers and shotguns were perfect for fighting monsters, so use them! Sniper rifles? Considering the foggy environment of Silent Hill, their use seemed limited, but she asked 006 to prepare two anyway.
She didn’t want to leave out the Javelin anti-tank missiles either. These could be a powerful tool. Whatever the monsters, greeting them with missiles couldn’t go wrong.
At Bella’s strong request, 006 worked hard to find her an M134 minigun, with two boxes of 7.62mm bullets.
“Are you sure these will help rescue my wife and daughter?” 006 was baffled by the arsenal filling the room. Was this a rescue or an arms deal in a conflict zone?
For any organization or individual, California was an important stronghold. 006 had three safe houses and a temporary base here, making weapon collection easy. He only worried about transport.
“It’s hard to transport so many weapons to West Virginia. Even if I arrange transport, it will take a lot of time.”
His idea was that a handgun each would suffice. Stealth was key for agents; going in guns blazing was too reckless!
Bella shook her head. Was he kidding? Taking two pistols to Silent Hill?
Starting with just a gun and scavenging the rest?
She had no love for melee weapons like hammers or axes. She preferred heavy firepower like a Gatling gun!
“Don’t worry, my vehicle can handle this small issue,” she confidently said.
They got into a pickup truck, loaded with weapons, and set off from San Francisco, heading for West Virginia.
The journey was smooth, with partial ghost mode engaged, making the weapon-filled truck look inconspicuous.
This was when 006 saw Miss Xiao.
Having absorbed a significant amount of negative energy from the haunted house, Xiao was now more vibrant and had regained most of her memories.
Seeing the half-truck of weapons, her eyes sparkled with excitement, like finding new toys, as she examined an assault rifle.
“Is this your friend? She looks familiar. Can you tell me how she appeared?” 006’s worldview was shattering.
Bella nonchalantly replied: “Trust me, you don’t want to know. Just tell me about your wife and daughter again.”
