Marvel Randomly Load Chapter 43

Fooling Professor X

……

After a two-hour bonfire dance at midnight, Hawking returned to his room feeling quite satisfied.

The bonfire dance at the mutant school was interesting.

All the students were mutants, each with unique abilities, and during the dance, everyone cooperated to showcase their powers, making it feel like participating in a magical feast.

As for the dancing part, Wanda mainly led him throughout.

After all, he had not attended a class in three years, including dance, music, and art.

Of course, the thing he was most pleased with was the food.

The annual bonfire dance saw Professor X spending a lot of money on many excellent ingredients that were much better than the usual cafeteria food.

Though the cafeteria food was quite good already.

“Full and content, maybe I can go and chat with, oh no, find Professor X now.”

He needed to earn justice points in New York City, so he had to inform Professor X, the principal.

Getting the principal’s support would simplify his actions and help avoid unnecessary troubles.

As for how to persuade Professor X, he had already prepared his arguments.

Though he couldn’t use the plots from his previous life as a guideline, he could reference each character’s consistent traits and behaviors.

His IQ might not be the highest, but with this information, his plans had a good chance of succeeding.

Even if he failed, with his current worth, if he secretly went to New York to fight evil and earn justice points, Professor X wouldn’t do much, even if he was upset internally.

He knew that Professor X’s biggest fear was that he would be tempted by Magneto, like Human Torch, and get tricked into joining the Brotherhood of Mutants.

“Professor, good evening!”

In the principal’s office, Hawking greeted Professor X with a smile.

Seeing Hawking, Professor X also showed a gentle smile:

“How was it? Did you enjoy the dinner?”

Hawking, the big eater, had explicitly asked Yogh to prepare food more than ten times than at previous dances.

“Of course, very satisfying.”

Hawking gave Professor X a thumbs up.

He was somewhat grateful to Professor X.

As someone who had crossed over from another world, he didn’t have a specific stance on mutants or humans.

After all, he didn’t belong to Marvel.

He cared about the people who gave him warmth like a family—Oleg, Alina, Wanda, and Pietro.

Professor X had helped Oleg and Alina find stable jobs, provided Wanda and Pietro with a stable school environment, and allowed them to develop peacefully for three years.

He kept all these in his heart.

So, when possible, he was also willing to give something back.

Like this time, his primary purpose was to earn justice points to unlock a new protagonist template and improve his strength, which was also to help the mutants, somewhat of a return to Professor X.

He felt self-serving was fine, but understanding reciprocity and having a moral baseline was also important.

“Hawking, you came to see me specifically. Must it be something you want to discuss?” Professor X switched to the main topic after some small talk.

From his three years of knowing Hawking, Professor X knew that if it weren’t for something important, Hawking, the self-flagellator, wouldn’t come just for a chat.

Hawking, wasting no time, responded:

“Professor, I have fully mastered my abilities after three years of effort.”

“Oh…that’s good news, congratulations!” Professor X’s face lit up with delight.

Hawking’s power was strong, even without turning into a giant ape, already proven in the battle three years ago.

Back then, Hawking couldn’t fully control his power and could only use it for an hour before fainting, being only slightly more potent than a typical child in his usual state.

Hawking had complete control of his abilities, so the mutant school gained a powerful ally, naturally making Professor X happy.

“So, Professor, I’d like to discuss something with you.”

“What is it?” Professor X asked, curiosity apparent on his face.

Hawking didn’t immediately reveal his plan but instead asked:

“Professor, as I understand, we have been cooperating with SHIELD for three years. The government has become much friendlier towards mutants, but ordinary humans still fear and reject mutants. Why is that?”

“Hawking, that’s normal. You know, just as humans are naturally afraid of the dark and fear the unknown, they fear us mutants because they don’t understand us, always thinking we’re dangerous and could threaten their lives.

Their fear of mutants is more of an instinct, which doesn’t mean humans are inherently evil.

We shouldn’t rush or hate them as Magneto does. Time will prove everything, and someday, humans and mutants will coexist harmoniously.”

Professor X patiently explained this to Hawking, emphasizing its importance. He valued Hawking highly, fearing that he would be tempted by Magneto like Human Torch and step into the abyss.

Fortunately, Hawking had his thoughts and was never influenced by Magneto, which relieved him greatly.

“Professor, I think you’re right, and I’ve been thinking the same. Humans don’t know that most mutants are pretty weak, posing no more danger than a knife or a gun.

Their lack of understanding and fear of the unknown makes them fearful.

But if there’s a chance to let them understand mutants, let them know about mutations, and maybe even like mutants, wouldn’t their fear of mutants significantly decrease?”

Hawking slowly shared his thoughts:

“What if we tried to become superheroes, using our unique abilities to help humans who need it? This way, humans would understand that not all mutants are scary.

Later, through media coverage…”

He wasn’t just trying to charm Professor X. In the timeline where the future was reversed, Professor X indeed made the X-Men into global superheroes who helped humanity solve problems.

At that time, many humans idolized the mutant members of the X-Men, greatly easing the relationship between humans and mutants.

However, Professor X was too idealistic, actually letting the X-Men handle any danger to humans, even if it was beyond their abilities, which eventually led to Jean losing control and the unfortunate awakening of Apocalypse, setting them back immensely.

But that wasn’t the outcome Hawking wanted.

He aimed to establish something like the Black Cloak Squad from Watt International, saving those they could and using public relations to achieve similar effects where they couldn’t.

It could even extend beyond mutants to include Inhumans and superpowered beings.

Of course, he couldn’t tell Professor X all this right now.

The protagonist template can only be used for one hour a day, but as long as it is used at least once, you can obtain the talents, skills. genetics, and memory corresponding to the protagonist template. You will slowly become stronger through practice, and you will not become weaker even if you lose the cheat ability in the future.
