Marvel Rise of Lord God Chapter 8

Raccoon City Mission Begins

With Jarvis’s help, Tony quickly recovered from the dizziness associated with interdimensional travel.

[World Transition Complete, Mission Issued.]

The Main God Space’s mission details were projected onto Tony’s retina in text form.

Mission World: Resident Evil

World Difficulty: lv5-lv20

World Origin: 0% (This metric is crucial for the final world score.)

World Overview: The T-virus has infected numerous citizens, turning peaceful Raccoon City into a hell on earth. To slow the spread of the virus and conceal the outbreak, the Umbrella Corporation decides to deploy a nuclear strike on Raccoon City after a set period…

Main Mission: Rescue and Annihilation

Warning: The T-virus is highly contagious; infected individuals lose their ability to think and become instinct-driven undead. Due to the mission delay, the difficulty level has increased.

Note: Do not leave the designated area; proceed cautiously, or the world difficulty will significantly increase.

Resident Evil? Tony contemplated the mission name and overview, formulating a plan.

He then focused on the primary mission description.

Rescue and Annihilation

Mission Overview: The innocent citizens of Raccoon City should not pay for Umbrella Corporation’s actions. Please ensure the civilians are rescued while making Umbrella pay a fitting price.

Mission Note: Alice must not die; if she does, the mission ends.

Rescues: 0

Kill Count: 0

Mission Reward: Full access to all Main God Space functions, unlock of level restrictions.

“Alice… a new name,” Tony muttered, slightly frowning. “Jarvis, hack into the world network and try to gain control of the satellites.”

“Initiating hack…” Jarvis connected to the world’s satellite systems using unlimited network access.

“Encountering resistance, resistance from artificial intelligence, intense resistance, a success rate of the hack is 0.12%. Do you wish to continue?”

“Stop the hack!” Tony immediately cut Jarvis’s external connections and quickly set up multiple firewalls.

[Notice: World Difficulty Increased]

The resistance was beyond Tony’s expectations. From the street level, the network technology didn’t seem advanced, but those behind this world possessed far more advanced technical capabilities than it appeared.

This hacking attempt might have alerted them, increasing world difficulty.

Inside the Hive, the artificial intelligence known as the Red Queen was rapidly operating, trying to trace back through Jarvis’s digital footprint.

However, Tony’s quick response meant that only a rough location was traced back to Raccoon City.

“Uploading information…”

“Zzzt, information lost, upload failed…”

Two messages flashed across the computers in the Hive, and Umbrella only received an alert about an attempt to hack the satellite defense systems, but not Jarvis’s specific location.

“This cycle seems a bit different…” the Red Queen’s projection whispered in the control room. “I hope this world can change this time.”

After speaking, the Red Queen concealed its changes deep within the base logic to evade detection by Umbrella.

Tony’s adventure was not without gain; during the Red Queen’s inadvertent slip, Jarvis obtained the map of Raccoon City and some details about Umbrella’s personnel arrangements.

Thinking over the digital map, Tony stroked his chin.

“Jarvis, hide our tracks, hack into Raccoon City’s surveillance system, and try to gain high-level access,” Tony commanded.

Jarvis, disguised as a regular hacker, began another round of hacking.

“Again?” The Red Queen was somewhat exasperated, wondering if its leniency had led Tony to misjudge the situation.

However, Tony’s decision was not wrong. The control over Raccoon City’s surveillance system was not in the Red Queen’s hands; had it been fully aware, Tony’s hacking would have been seamless. The Red Queen, anthropomorphizing, shook its head and released the newly acquired surveillance authority, hiding in the virtual network, letting Jarvis proceed.

“Alert, artificial intelligence activity detected in the surveillance system!” Jarvis quickly reported.

How could this be? Tony frowned, perplexed that even a surveillance system required AI.

“How’s the hack going?”

“No resistance encountered, highest access obtained.”

With all the information consolidated, Tony smiled intriguingly. It seemed the AI had its agenda, but this was advantageous for him.

“Jarvis, strengthen the network firewall, and also search the city for Alice,” Tony stepped out of an alley.

Now, with access to the surveillance system, he no longer had to worry too much about revealing his location.

It took only ten seconds for Jarvis to pull up all individuals named Alice, intelligently selecting the most likely target.

Target locked.

A full-body image of Alice appeared on the armor’s display.

“Alice, Umbrella Corporation employee, currently located at the city hospital, condition: comatose…”

Tony brought up the route to the hospital,

walking while viewing Alice’s information. The route set by Jarvis perfectly avoided areas most likely to be detected by satellites.

“Warning! Zombies detected ahead.”

Along with Jarvis’s words, a video showed nearby zombies’ distribution.

“Is there a way around them?” Tony asked, his armor capable of masking his scent, which was why he had remained undetected by zombies for so long.

“Based on zombie behavioral analysis, a safe passage will briefly appear in seventeen minutes.”

“Seventeen minutes?” Tony sighed, slightly annoyed. “Jarvis, find the most suitable route to prepare for combat.”

“Recommended combat methods are melee or short-duration laser cutting,” Jarvis continued, “Based on the analysis, zombies primarily use hearing and smell to track prey.”

Tony sighed. The armor only contained a downscaled version of Jarvis, which was not as capable as the full version in the Marvel Universe.

If this were the Marvel world, with the honest Jarvis, there wouldn’t be much idle talk.

But this was a compromise; the armor’s space was limited and couldn’t accommodate too much hardware.

Zombies, merely ordinary ones, were scattered along Tony’s path, their attacks negligible to him. If their biting could break through the outer armor, Tony joked he might as well die by tofu.

Driven by the mini-reactor, Tony quickly reached his destination.

The intersection here was filled with abandoned vehicles. As one of the initial outbreak sites, most zombies had moved to other areas.

“Location locked, target person Alice located on the second-floor laboratory…” Jarvis displayed Alice’s location, marked in red on Tony’s armor map.
