Tony sat on the ground and said, “Can you all sit down? Please sit down so you can see me and I can see you. This will make it less formal.” He took out a burger and began to eat.
“It’s good to see you,” Tony said to Obadiah.
“Likewise.”
“I never got to say goodbye to my father,” Tony said, repeating it twice.
“I have some questions I’d like to ask him. I want to ask him how he felt about the company’s actions, whether he ever struggled or doubted. Maybe he was exactly like the man in the documentaries. I saw young Americans being killed, and they were being killed by weapons I made to protect them. I realized I had become part of a system that was willing to overlook responsibility…”
After the press conference, Tony asked Pepper to take Lan Xingyu home first.
Arriving at Tony’s house, Lan Xingyu was amazed, even though he had seen it in the movies. The power of money was impressive! He thought about selling some items from his space pocket soon, especially since Stark Industries’ stock would drop soon, making it a prime opportunity to make a profit.
As he entered Tony’s home with Pepper, she said, “JARVIS, create a level three access for our little star, Xingyu.”
“Yes, Ms. Potts. Access has been created,” a voice responded from the speakers.
“This is JARVIS, Tony’s AI butler. You can ask him for anything you want or need,” Pepper explained, then knelt down to pinch Xingyu’s cheek. “Sorry, little Xingyu, my access can only grant you level three permissions. When Tony gets back, he’ll upgrade it for you.” During the trip, Pepper and Xingyu had grown close. Even someone as seasoned as Pepper couldn’t resist Xingyu’s charm.
“Tomorrow, I’ll take you shopping for clothes. Be good and wait at home, okay?”
“Okay, Pepper sister.”
“I’ll be going now. I need to sort out your identity documents. See you tomorrow!”
“Thank you, Pepper sister! See you tomorrow!”
After Pepper left, Xingyu began exploring Tony’s house. It was enormous. Using a phrase from “The Ultimate Three Kingdoms” TV series, it was like playing skateboard without hitting any walls!
Standing by the floor-to-ceiling window facing the sea, he felt a sense of relaxation. Suddenly, he had an idea. He remembered seeing Misaka Mikoto test her Railgun in a pool and wondered if he could test his powers on the sea.
Without hesitation, he used a flash move to get outside and flew dozens of kilometers over the sea. Ensuring there were no people nearby, he delivered a Light Speed Kick to the water.
He immediately regretted it. With a loud boom, a massive water column shot up, creating a gigantic wave. He realized that if the wave continued, it could flood Tony’s house despite the distance.
Quickly, Xingyu clasped his hands together, forming two magic circles. Strange waves of energy stabilized the water, slowly returning it to the sea.
“Phew! That was close. Maybe testing on water isn’t the best idea. Should I train in space next?” He pondered whether he could survive in a vacuum.
Deciding to wait for better opportunities, he returned to Tony’s house via a portal, unaware that his actions had alarmed SHIELD.
On the SHIELD Helicarrier, a frantic agent approached a man in a black trench coat with an eyepatch.
“Director Fury, there was a massive energy spike over the Pacific. But when we checked the satellite feed, there was nothing. Such an explosion should have caused a tsunami, yet our satellites showed nothing!” The agent handed a report to Nick Fury, the man in black.
Agent Fury, known for his composure, read the report with a blank expression. The agent admired his calm demeanor.
Internally, Fury was anything but calm: “What the f***? What kind of power is this on Earth? I need to get more funding from the World Security Council. My safe houses aren’t enough…”
“Understood. Return to your duties,” Fury said coolly. Once the agent left, he let his worry show.
“This can’t go on. Earth needs a dedicated defense force. It’s time to reboot the Avengers Initiative.” Fury reached into his pocket, feeling the pager within.
When Tony returned home, he found Xingyu busy in the kitchen. Despite knowing from the Ancient One that Xingyu could cook, Tony couldn’t picture such a small child managing it.
Peering into the kitchen, Tony was met with delicious aromas. He saw Xingyu floating in the air, expertly handling a pot almost as big as him. The sight was so cute that Tony was momentarily overwhelmed.
Without turning around, Xingyu said, “Tony, go rest for a bit. This is the last dish, and dinner will be ready soon! That burger didn’t fill me up at all.”
Seeing Tony still standing there, Xingyu turned to look at him, puzzled.
Feeling slightly guilty, Tony stammered, “Oh, alright. Take your time, and be careful!” Then he awkwardly left the kitchen, leaving Xingyu bewildered.
“What’s with Tony? Did that press conference scramble his brains?” Shaking his head, Xingyu refocused on cooking. Nothing was more important than food, except maybe having soda to go with it.
