The Iron Monger, which Lan Xingyu had just kicked into the air, hadn’t even reacted yet before it was hit back to the ground by a gold-and-red figure from the sky.
Tony was bewildered as well. He had just arrived at the company when he saw an iron shell flying toward him. Fortunately, the materials of his armor were extraordinary; otherwise, the one lying on the ground might not have been just the Iron Monger.
Yes, all this was orchestrated by Lan Xingyu. When Lan Xingyu was about to unleash his full power to save the group of unarmored, squishy agents who were messing around near the defensive tower, his Haki of Observation sensed Tony’s arrival and his landing point. Lan Xingyu figured, after watching Tony’s live stream for so long, he should at least send a rocket or something.
Given that our Tony is a man of the scene, Lan Xingyu decided to give a big rocket. He saw the Iron Monger in mid-air and thought it resembled a rocket, so he acted accordingly, resulting in the scene we just saw.
If Tony knew, he would have either thanked him for the rocket while fighting Lan Xingyu or thought of him as a true friend. Luckily, Tony didn’t know.
When Lan Xingyu and the others emerged to see Tony at a disadvantage, they all began to worry.
Lan Xingyu used his Conqueror’s Haki to knock out Coulson and the other agents and then moved them out of the scene. After all, Lan Xingyu couldn’t make a move with them around. Originally, he wanted to move Pepper out too, but she refused. Lan Xingyu had no choice but to be careful not to let the Iron Monger hurt her.
After dealing with the agents, Lan Xingyu returned to Tony’s battlefield and saw Tony being pounded weakly by the Iron Monger. He used telepathy to ask, “Tony, need help? I’m great at supporting.”
“Uh, alright, I do need help,” Tony admitted. As soon as he finished speaking, Lan Xingyu flashed and kicked the Iron Monger, who was stomping on Tony, into the air. The Iron Monger, confused, asked, “Who are you?”
Lan Xingyu didn’t bother to answer. A lightsaber appeared in his hand, and he vanished, reappearing behind the Iron Monger.
The Iron Monger’s armor began to fall off piece by piece until only Obadiah was left standing in the wind.
Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing? At this moment, Obadiah was grappling with these existential questions.
Tony hurried over to keep an eye on Obadiah, while Lan Xingyu fetched Coulson and the others. After all, they needed to take Obadiah away. What? They’re still unconscious? No problem, a couple of slaps will fix that.
As Lan Xingyu was dragging the agents back, Obadiah seemed to regain his senses. He looked at Tony with a hint of madness and said:
“Thirty years, I’ve been supporting you. I built this company from nothing. No one has the right to destroy it except me!”
After saying that, Obadiah pressed a button, and he and a device were ejected toward the giant arc reactor in Stark Industries’ lobby, intending to blow it up and take everyone with him. Tony tried to stop him but was too late. He quickly shielded Pepper.
Lan Xingyu, who had just brought the last agent back, saw this and entered his light-speed mode. He reached the crowd and used his magic circle to form a series of ripples that contained the explosion until it dissipated.
Thus, the incident ended with Obadiah’s death.
Back home, Tony went to rest while Pepper prepared for the next day’s press conference. Although Tony wasn’t injured, being without the arc reactor earlier had left him extremely exhausted.
But when he got home, he felt even more fatigued. The sofa wasn’t just broken; it had been hollowed out. Cotton was scattered everywhere, and Panda, their Husky, was lying comfortably on the flattened sofa.
Tony almost fell, catching himself on nearby furniture.
Lan Xingyu, laughing, said, “I did warn you, Huskies aren’t easy to keep. Believe me now?”
Tony, looking resentful, thought, “I think you tricked me, but I have no proof. So frustrating.”
Seeing Tony’s miserable expression, Lan Xingyu added fuel to the fire, “Tony, do you know how people in China describe Huskies?”
Tony had a bad feeling, “No… I don’t.”
Lan Xingyu grinned and said, “One Husky can take down three tigers. Three Huskies can sink an aircraft carrier. Five Huskies can fight gods. Ten Huskies can create a new world. A hundred Huskies can destroy the galaxy. A thousand Huskies can conquer the universe. Huskies are the most formidable in society. They never lose an argument but never win a fight. They don’t understand commands, and demolishing a house is a given. If a Husky looks back, it either wants revenge or gratitude. Tony, you better be careful.”
Ignoring Tony’s dejected look, Lan Xingyu went to sleep.
Lan Xingyu slept until noon the next day and learned from Jarvis that he had missed the Iron Man press conference. Lan Xingyu felt indifferent.
“Just saying ‘I am Iron Man’ isn’t as important as sleeping, right? Nothing is more important than sleep. If Thanos or Dormammu comes to disturb me, I’ll hit them with an Excalibur.”
Lan Xingyu had just left his room when he heard Tony arguing with the Husky. Tony was scolding the Husky, who barked back. Tony lectured, and the Husky barked. Lan Xingyu found it hilarious. Arguing with a Husky? Tony’s logic seemed off.
Watching this amusing scene while having lunch, Lan Xingyu announced, “I, Captain Dragonfly, declare Panda the winner!” Yes, you heard right, Panda won. The Husky continued barking at Tony.
Tony, now thoroughly defeated, lay back on the new sofa. Which already had a hole. Good job, Panda!
“Look at this, Iron Man lost a half-hour argument with a dog,” Lan Xingyu clapped his hands. He thought this could be the headline for a week… or a month…
Tony seemed to have given up. He wished he could go back and kill the version of himself who decided to get a Husky.
“I’m no better than a dog! Sorry world, I shouldn’t have come here. If there’s a next life, I want to be seaweed, drifting with the tide.” Tony felt like he had been repeatedly struck by Perona’s Negative Hollow.
Lan Xingyu didn’t worry about Tony. He’d recover soon. Life is like… well, if you can’t escape, enjoy it. Though Tony’s case might be worse since his “life” might be male…
Lan Xingyu planned to continue his Monster Hunter journey. Then…
“Ahhh! Panda, I’m going to kill you!!!”
Lan Xingyu’s keyboard and controller were destroyed by Panda.
Panda, seemingly having a brief burst of intelligence after the argument, seemed to know Lan Xingyu was about to scold him and got excited.
Another half-hour passed, and this time, Captain Dragonfly Tony declared Panda the winner.
Lan Xingyu, looking at Panda on the table, was furious. Suddenly, he had an idea.
Didn’t Dad say, ‘use a pet to defeat a pet’? Excitedly, Lan Xingyu ran outside.
“Xingyu, where are you going? Don’t get discouraged after losing!” Tony followed, curious about Lan Xingyu’s next move.
Lan Xingyu ran to an open space. Tony asked, “What are you planning?”
“Tony, have you heard the saying, ‘use a pet to defeat a pet’?” Lan Xingyu said mysteriously.
“Huh? What?” Tony was confused.
“Just watch. Summon!” Lan Xingyu extended a hand, and a magic circle appeared on the ground, followed by a pillar of light. Intense energy waves emanated from the pillar, revealing a white figure.
“Summoning successful!” Lan Xingyu announced.
“What’s next?” Tony asked. Despite the high energy levels reported by Jarvis, Tony knew from Lan Xingyu’s calm expression that this wasn’t a threat to him.
“Next is signing a contract with the summoned creature. Once that’s done, it’s KO.”
“Trying to sign a contract with me? You’ve underestimated me!” A majestic white tiger emerged from the light pillar.
