Marvel’s Princess Chapter 57

Invitation From The Cullen Family

“By the way, this is a lawyer I know. If you want to sue that damned alligator farm, you can call her,” Black Widow said.

Bella took a pen and paper, jotting down the number of lawyer Jennifer Walters.

That wretched alligator farm couldn’t be let off easily. Bella had only killed a few of the hundreds, maybe thousands, of alligators bred there. How many were still causing havoc? How many more people could they kill? It was all uncertain, so a joint lawsuit was necessary—to sue them into bankruptcy!

“Great! Oh, and I want you to have this; it’s something I found on the beach when I was a child. It’s not worth much, but keep it as a souvenir. If you ever come back to Florida, feel free to visit my home,” said Storm, handing Bella a bracelet. In the middle of the chain was a wooden-looking ship’s helm pendant, dark and somewhat damaged.

Storm waved goodbye with a smile and hurried onto the helicopter to accompany her father to the hospital in Atlantis.

Bella examined the nail-sized ship’s helm pendant; it had seemed ordinary in Storm’s hands, but in her possession, she felt a faint magical fluctuation. Could this be a magical artifact?

The front of the helm had some text. Bella held it up to the light and squinted. The text was in Spanish; Bella had learned it well in high school.

Although the inscription was incredibly blurred, she managed to make out the words: “The Flying Dutchman?”

She weighed the tiny helm in her hand. Was this the infamous ghost ship, The Flying Dutchman, now reduced to just this small helm?

Will Turner really did a number on it, didn’t he?

The surface of the helm also showed signs of having been burned. Bella tossed it into the water to test it, but it did not react at all. She didn’t know how to use it—was she missing the correct method, or was it too damaged to retain its former power? She didn’t know.

That problem would have to wait; regardless, her mission in Florida was completed.

All in all, she had acquired Barbossa’s swordsmanship, an Ice Beam spell, a compass that always pointed to Storm, and a helm related to the ghost ship, The Flying Dutchman.

It seemed like a lot of gains, but in reality, perhaps not so useful.

After returning to the rented car, Bella flew back to Seattle, returning to her hometown of Forks.

Back in Forks, besides attending school, Bella had little else to do.

Snow White’s opera was performed as scheduled, and both townsfolk and teenagers affirmed her portrayal of a physically frail but mentally strong Snow White. Many jokingly referred to her as “Princess.”

While reaping praise, Bella did not neglect her physical training.

On weekends, she would sprint through the dense forests outside the town.

Her right hand wielded a dagger she had bought in Seattle. Pretending to be surrounded by enemies, she defended and attacked with the sword, mastering the rhythm of this martial art, continuously changing her steps always to keep the enemies within her attack range.

Barbossa’s swordsmanship included several tricks, such as pulling out a pistol in the midst of a fight and firing at the enemy’s face—a typical example.

In his era, due to limitations in technology and materials, there was no need to practice shooting; it was entirely up to chance. Beyond ten meters, even he didn’t know where the bullet would end up.

Bella was much better off; she had acquired two Glock pistols and some ammunition from 006’s safe house. She didn’t have a gun license, and the ballistic data wasn’t registered at the police station, but practicing in the dense forest was fine.

After a series of over ten sword strikes, she would pull a pistol from her lower back and rapidly fire forward or replace the firearm with an Ice Beam.

Bella was diligently enhancing her combat skills.

“Very impressive!” Alice Cullen, a vampire and past classmate, sat on a nearby tree stump applauding.

Huh? When did she get here? Bella hadn’t noticed her arrival.

Bella felt she needed to develop a reconnaissance spell soon, or it could be troublesome the next time she faced an enemy.

She nonchalantly sheathed her sword: “Is it just you? Where’s the rest of your family?”

Alice Cullen hopped down from the tree, smiling, “They’re all at home preparing for the graduation ceremony.”

Hearing this, Bella couldn’t help but laugh, “You attend so many graduation ceremonies. Doesn’t it get old?”

“You always have to find something to do, right? Can I try?” Alice Cullen reached out her hand, seemingly wanting to borrow Bella’s sword.

For Bella, not having a sword didn’t mean her martial skills were any less. Sword or no sword, the difference wasn’t significant.

She calmly handed the sword to

The black-haired vampire.

Alice Cullen mimicked Bella’s movements, striking a few poses.

Her movements were stiff, and her footing was messy. At most, it looked like she had practiced a few times in a college fencing club, far from real combat readiness.

Alice Cullen then shook her head, “I really haven’t practiced with this. Do you actually enjoy such classical stuff? I bet only Carlisle knows some moves, considering he’s nearly four hundred years old. Interested in visiting our place?”

Considering the vampire’s invitation, Bella hesitated, but the other didn’t rush her, seemingly waiting for her response.

“When I left Forks, I killed three vampires. Do you know about this?” she asked.

Alice Cullen gently shook her head, “Those bloodthirsty guys, right? They have nothing to do with our family. We never harm humans.”

Remembering that the Cullen family indeed had no bad records in this regard, being rather Zen-like vampires, Bella immediately nodded in agreement. Learning swordsmanship only to find no worthy opponents was frustrating. Carlisle Cullen, from an era when fencing was prevalent and being of noble birth, likely had good swordsmanship.

“Alright, I trust you. How do I get to your place?”

Ten minutes later, Bella arrived at the Cullen family’s mansion as a guest.

The Cullen family welcomed her warmly.

Carlisle and Esme Cullen, the couple, were somewhat celebrities in town. Carlisle also moonlighted as the town’s doctor and had some acquaintance with Charlie.

Bella had met the remaining members at school, including the frail-looking and melancholy Edward Cullen, the bulky Emmett Cullen, the inviting Alice Cullen, and Jasper Hale and Rosalie Hale, making a total of seven vampires in the Cullen family.
