Marvel’s Princess Chapter 6

Accident Investigation

“Mr. Alex, you’ve told many people about your visions. Do you still stand by what you said?”

“Yes, sir.”

“Mr. Alex, many passengers mentioned that you started causing a disturbance shortly after boarding and demanded to leave. Why did you do that? Who instructed you? Have you received military training abroad?”

The frail student Alex blushed angrily, veins bulging on his neck, and he yelled, “No! Nothing, are you satisfied now? Idiot!”

“Miss Swan, many people are grateful for your actions. They believe that your initial warning played a key role in their survival. Can you explain your thoughts at the time?”

“I just wanted to save people, nothing more.”

The FBI agent in charge had many files on his desk, quickly flipping through them: “Your former teachers think you couldn’t integrate into normal studies, and many classmates say you show some antisocial personality traits. What do you think caused this?”

Bella seriously replied, “It’s normal for them to be against me because I am just too beautiful!”

Surprised by her answer, the FBI director spat coffee all over his report.

The question of who is more beautiful can sometimes be subjective. Still, as a societal elite, the FBI director naturally had different standards from ordinary people, and it was evident that Bella’s appearance was above average.

Currently, baggy jeans are popular among ordinary girls aiming for a hip-hop style, which Bella disdains. What is that? The pants are so baggy they cover the feet, which she finds hugely unattractive.

Her jeans choice is more form-fitting, going against the current fashion trend, and that’s why many girls at the airport mocked her as ‘outdated.’

Bella’s style is minimalist, coupled with her somewhat pale complexion, looking down on ordinary people at school, which psychologically makes sense. Such people are often too proud to bother lying.

The FBI director crumpled the coffee-stained report in his hand and tossed it into a nearby trash can: “Alright, I forgive you, hope you keep your confidence.”

Bella was questioned for five minutes before being released.

It wasn’t that the agents let her go, but there were simply too many survivors.

With sixty to seventy survivors, why did you survive? Who allowed you to live? Why did others die, and you lived? Suspicious! All airport staff are under suspicion, and if the investigation expands, they might search all passengers who entered the airport in the past week. Anyone alive and breathing is suspect in the eyes of the FBI!

Bella bought a sandwich for lunch and ate it when her phone abruptly rang. She looked at the female agent beside her, more a watcher than a protector: “Can I take this call?”

“Please put it on speaker.”

Speaker it is, since there’s nothing secret anyway.

She didn’t recognize the number, but upon answering, she realized it was Miss Natasha, whom she had met this morning.

It felt like the people and events from this morning were already far away.

“What’s up, Nat?”

“Sorry, Bella, we’ve got some troubles here. When are you coming back to Phoenix? The local police want to make some inquiries.”

Bella laughed over the phone: “Phoenix? Haha—didn’t you know? There was a big incident at the airport this morning.”

“No idea what happened? We’ve been at the police station all day.”

Natasha’s call took the Flight 180 crash in another direction.

The C1 level chief agent took over the toy car robbery case, processing it with the Flight 180 crash incident.

After Bella finished a Coke fifteen minutes later, she saw a confused Natasha, her family, and the three robbers.

The robber who had escaped had been on the run for half a day, but the FBI agents were confident. Half a day, or even a whole day—no matter, as long as this guy was still on Earth, they were sure they could catch him!

A family of five was questioned as if they were criminals.

The FBI truly practiced equality among all, from an elderly professor like John Grey, aged over sixty, to infants in their mothers’ arms. After all, what if the old man sympathized with terrorists? What if the infant was a powerful mutant? Everyone was suspect!

Among them, beautiful women were a particular focus of suspicion. Unfortunately, beauty equates to trouble, a principle in the FBI’s operational manual. Beautiful women could use their charisma to persuade someone with no previous connections to do something.

After Bella was personally questioned by the intelligence chief, the young beauty Natasha also received similar treatment.

“Miss Romanoff, I heard your surname comes from your mother. What are your views on Russia?”

“No opinion!”

“Miss Romanoff, I’ve reviewed your transcripts, and you excel in every subject, but why do you make deliberate mistakes during exams? What are you hiding?”

“I’m just annoyed by those teachers! Their IQs are too low.”

“Miss Romanoff, I’ve noticed several recommendations from your PE teacher. Your physical condition is excellent. Why aren’t you willing to participate in various club activities? Don’t you find those activities interesting?”

Natasha rolled her eyes; these questions were utterly stupid!

Due to her uncooperative attitude and Russian heritage, although she didn’t know what was happening, she inadvertently became a key surveillance target in the Flight 180 incident, receiving the same treatment as Bella.

With so many people on-site, by 2:00 PM, the FBI had just completed the initial screening of targets and found no suspects related to the plane explosion.

Nobody could say exactly how the plane exploded. The FBI wanted to blame Magneto. Planes, trains, missiles—any incident involving metal, if the cause was unclear, was attributed to Magneto!

This method was foolproof; they considered it another challenge by Magneto against the world’s democratic order.

However, this time, the FBI was disappointed. Their report had just been submitted and not released when the Brotherhood of Mutants sent a message through secret channels, saying, “It wasn’t me. I didn’t do it. Stop making stuff up!”

Unable to throw the blame away, they had to continue investigating.

The tragedy, which claimed the lives of over a hundred passengers, had spread to every corner of the globe, and the FBI was under immense pressure. They were especially scrutinized for planning to confine all survivors in a hotel for 48 hours and for preparing to investigate all passengers who had been at the airport in the last three days, which greatly displeased the public and survivors.

Dissatisfaction aside, they had to proceed with their duties.

Among the principal suspects in the incident, Bella and Natasha were assigned to a room under guard, with a female agent stationed at the door.
