At this moment, Rin couldn’t help but gape, astonished, as he examined the warehouse’s interior. This was entirely unexpected! He never imagined the warehouse would appear at this moment, seemingly popping up randomly based on its whims.
Rin touched the warehouse’s interior, muttering, “You’re quite the character, Warehouse-kun, truly unpredictable…”
The cold warehouse, of course, did not respond. Rin was just venting his thoughts as he quickly made his way to the center of the warehouse.
With previous experiences, Rin was no longer amazed by the various facilities within the warehouse. Although several times larger than before, the basic structure was no different from the underground collection room he had once built with great effort.
Quickly arriving at the collection of figurine characters, he observed the life-sized figurines, each encased in transparent barriers. Rin’s thoughts about these figurines had shifted significantly.
Before, he was merely astonished by the life-sized models of his figurines. Now, he realized these characters were not just his carefully collected figurines but real, physical bodies waiting to be brought to life. They were merely lacking souls at the moment.
Chrollo’s resurrection, Pikachu’s appearance, and the warehouse’s repeated reappearance had all proven to Rin that these physical forms would eventually come to life due to his own changes.
What Rin needed to do before that happened was to create a force solely his own. Whether it was the Five Great Nations of the Naruto world, the Akatsuki, Kabuto’s Edo Tensei army, or Madara’s Infinite Tsukuyomi, Rin would not allow any harm to come to his figurine characters.
To protect these cherished characters, Rin knew he must grow stronger. His eyes swept over Saber, Akame, and Rem nearby. Walking up to the life-sized, cold-faced, blue-armored Artoria with her holy sword planted firmly in the ground, Rin murmured, “Artoria, I hope you would agree with my choices…”
The empty warehouse echoed only Rin’s voice. He smiled self-mockingly, shaking his head, and whispered to himself, “I don’t know how to summon you all yet, but someday I’ll bring you out of here.”
Glancing at Luffy with his straw hat and big grin, Rin laughed, “Luffy, you must be eager to sail the seas and become the Pirate King, right? And Sanji, despite your pervy ways, I’d love to taste your cooking. It seems that’s not impossible now!”
As he walked and chatted with the life-sized figurines, Rin suddenly stopped and thought, “Wait, both Chrollo and Pikachu were freed from their restrictions. Does this mean it’s not my growing power that frees these characters, but rather each time a character is freed, I can enter this warehouse?”
Feeling increasingly certain of this idea, Rin ran around the warehouse, examining the figurines. Given the vast number of characters and the pervasive black mist limiting his vision to about ten meters, he had to inspect each one carefully.
He mainly focused on those with dim, thin barriers, distinguishing them from those with thicker barriers. Soon, he found a figurine in a corner without any barrier at all.
Indeed, it was in a corner, which surprised Rin. He cherished all his figurines, though the fire might have shuffled their positions. They had since returned to their places, though the arrangement was puzzling.
It was unexpected to see the figurine alone in a corner. Rin stared at the small, grayish figure, murmuring, “Did I forget? When did I collect this one? I have no memory of it.”
Approaching the figure, Rin, though only six years old, was taller than this figurine. Though he didn’t know much about the world this character lived in, he felt deep sympathy for its plight.
“If it’s you, I truly hope to change your fate…”
With a gentle look in his eyes, Rin softly said to the small, gray figure. He reached out to touch its head, bracing himself for the soul-draining pain he knew was coming.
The moment Rin’s hand touched the figure, a deep purple book appeared in his left hand. Its pages flipped automatically to reveal the remaining blood-red figure. A red line connected the book to his chest, glowing with a vivid crimson light.
As dark, ominous energy and radiant light burst from the gray figure, the last red figure in the book rapidly vanished. With a blinding flash, everything settled, and Rin, dizzy from the light, heard a timid, childish voice near his ear.
“I thought… you would never choose me…”
