“Ahhh!”
A sudden scream jolted Kaguya Naoki, pulling his attention away from Kakashi and back to “Rin Nohara.”
She was convulsing and twitching in pain, twisting into various grotesque positions, crying out in agony under the ravaging chakra.
This was the consequence of sealing the Three-Tails, which was unavoidable.
But this is my clone. Once it returns, won’t these painful memories transfer to me?
Kaguya Naoki’s expression grew serious, a sense of foreboding creeping in.
The other Kirigakure ninjas had the opposite reaction, with some even licking their lips in excitement.
“How about we make use of her? I can be quick,” one Kirigakure ninja said passionately.
If it were Rin Nohara, that would be one thing, but this is my clone.
Kaguya Naoki felt a wave of disgust and immediately shouted in anger.
“Focus on completing the mission. If I catch any of you acting on your lower urges again, you’d better leave the Anbu. You’ll regret it.”
The Kirigakure ninja laughed nervously, saying nothing more and trying to suppress his abnormal reaction to the cries.
But under the Byakugan, everything was laid bare.
Apart from a few suspected to be White Zetsu and the red-eyed Zabuza, the others all had ambiguous looks.
Some were even sneaking glances at “Rin Nohara,” clearly lost in unsavory thoughts.
“Although time is tight, I consumed a lot of energy earlier and need to rest for a bit, otherwise, I won’t be able to maintain this.”
Kaguya Naoki said with a stern face, pretending to take a few soldier pills, and walked towards Kakashi.
Getting Kakashi to join Kirigakure would be challenging but possible.
And the future implications of having such a prime candidate for Hokage join Kirigakure were immense.
So, every hurdle had to be overcome.
There were many strategies.
But now, discrediting Konoha or establishing bonds were too far off and unsuitable for action.
The most important thing now was to gain Kakashi’s trust; otherwise, everything would be for naught.
Is there any better way to earn trust than to let Kakashi escape with “Rin Nohara,” providing support and information along the way?
When Obito arrives, Kakashi can kill “Rin Nohara,” letting the scene unfold perfectly.
Reaching Kakashi’s side, Kaguya Naoki sat down, turning his back to the others. He activated his Byakugan to check that no one was watching or daring to spy on him.
He silently called out to the system.
[Consume 1 exchange point to obtain 10 Blood Elixirs]
These elixirs restore life force and chakra, Kaguya Naoki’s favorite item to exchange.
The green elixirs appeared in the mental inventory, and with a thought, they materialized in his hand.
He was about to drink it but paused.
Kaguya Naoki pondered momentarily, took a piece of paper, and wrote a letter using Kakashi’s blood.
He opened the elixir and gently applied it to Kakashi’s lips.
The effect was immediate.
Kakashi’s eyelashes began to flutter, showing signs of waking up.
“Don’t move, don’t open your eyes.”
Kaguya Naoki whispered, and Kakashi complied, staying still.
“I am Kaguya Naoki, the leader of this squad. Forced by the mission, I had to fight, but I love peace and dislike killing.”
“So, I want to help you escape!”
Kakashi remained motionless, but his heart pounded wildly.
“Listen to me.”
Kaguya Naoki used his Byakugan to monitor the Kirigakure ninjas while continuously explaining the escape route to Kakashi.
After about fifteen minutes, he stood up calmly, as if nothing had happened, and rejoined the group.
Kakashi quietly tightened his grip on his kunai, chakra flowing!
“998, 999, 1000!”
In the dark cave, similar sounds echoed constantly.
Thud!
The exhausted Uchiha Obito collapsed, lying flat on the ground.
Sweat dripped from his lowered head into his eyes, the pain making him look up again.
No, I must continue.
I must adapt to this body quickly to see you both again. Kakashi and Rin, wait for me.
Obito pushed himself up.
“1001, 1002…”
Pushing his body’s limits wasn’t easy, and Obito fell again, letting sweat soak the ground.
So tired, so tired.
I’ve reached my limit.
In his hazy state, Obito saw a vision.
Kakashi stood before him, looking indifferent, with Rin beside him, looking helpless.
“Obito! You’re late again.”
Obito wanted to explain, but Kakashi coldly added.
“Loser.”
With that, the illusion shattered, and Obito fell forward where Kakashi and Rin had stood.
Rin.
And that jerk Kakashi.
Obito’s lips curled into a smile as he pushed his overburdened body up again.
If I try a little more complicated.
I’ll see you soon!
A pure white figure emerged from the ground before him at that moment, startling him.
White Zetsu wasn’t his usual cheerful self but looked anxious.
“Hey, Obito, it seems your idiot friend Kakashi and Rin Nohara are in trouble.”
Rin, Kakashi?
Obito jumped up, grabbing White Zetsu’s shoulders, his face full of worry.
“Explain, what’s happening?”
“They were captured by Kirigakure ninjas.”
“The leader is some scumbag named Kaguya Naoki.”
Hearing this, Obito’s face changed dramatically. He leaped over White Zetsu and punched the closed stone door.
Ugh!
Sweat beaded on Obito’s forehead, his left arm feeling like it was breaking, but he swung again with all his might!
Boom!
The stone door remained unmoved, but his arm, made from Hashirama’s cells, shattered.
White Zetsu’s voice echoed behind him.
“Obito, you can’t save them with your current body.”
“Let me help you.”
“Wear my body.”
“Aren’t you Uchiha Madara’s subordinate? Why—”
White Zetsu’s body began to whirl, his voice echoing in the cave.
“This kid is quite something.”
“Don’t you want to save Rin and Kakashi?”
“Thank you!”
Obito clenched his hand and swung it forward.
Boom!
The seemingly impenetrable stone door shattered instantly.
Outside the door, Madara’s eyes glowed.
“Obito, are you leaving?”
Obito, with his back to Madara, replied firmly.
“I’m grateful for your help, but I have to go. I must!”
Madara lowered his eyes, his emotions unreadable.
“You’re too impatient. It’s too soon to thank me.”
Obito turned slightly, looking at the aged Madara, still persistent.
“I don’t think I’ll be coming back.”
“Anyway, thank you, I’m leaving.”
Madara lifted his gaze, speaking coldly.
“You will come back.”
“Obito.”
“Then, I’ll accept your true gratitude.”
Obito said nothing more.
Filled with urgency, he turned and rushed out of the cave.
He had to save Rin and Kakashi, return to the village, and become Hokage.
He would never return here!
Watching Obito’s departing figure, Madara sat up straight, thinking of Hashirama’s face.
The wars of this world will soon end by my hand.
Hashirama, you ultimately lost!
