As Naoki continued to organize the Mizukage’s office, the Daimyo’s carriage slowly rolled into the Hidden Mist Village. The rough and uneven road caused the wheels to creak occasionally, masking the conversation inside the carriage.
“Father, is this the Hidden Mist, our village?”
A still-young, innocent child lifted the curtain to look outside, then turned to the stern-faced man behind him and asked.
The man smiled, nodding and then shaking his head.
“Jin, this is the Hidden Mist, but it is not completely under our control.”
“Is that so?”
Jin pondered, letting the curtain fall. He lowered his head, organized his thoughts for a moment, and then seriously asked.
“Father, aren’t they the strongest force in the country? If such a strong force is not under our control, how can we govern the entire country?”
“Jin.”
Listening to his son, the Daimyo’s face showed a hint of pride, and he looked approvingly at Jin’s still-youthful figure.
“For you to say this, you’ve already surpassed your brother. Perhaps the future of the Land of Water will be revitalized by you.”

“So they need us, the organizers, to organize civilians to produce enough goods, weapons, and merchandise to allow ninjas, these different ‘aristocrats,’ to live properly.”
The confusion on Jin’s face vanished, replaced by immense confidence.
“So, Jin, ninjas can’t do without us.”
“And while we can mostly rise above these ninjas, we shouldn’t be too reckless, pushing them to the point where they use force against us.”
“Jin, you will be the Daimyo.”
The Daimyo smiled, removed his hat, and placed it on Jin’s head, letting him feel the weight of power.

Jin nodded, and at that moment, a rhythmic knocking sounded outside, making the Daimyo’s face turn stern, regaining his lofty demeanor.
“Is there news?”
“Yes, my lord.”
The voice outside was somewhat panicked.
“All our informants have betrayed us, killing the contacts responsible for liaising with them. What should we do, my lord?”
“What do you mean by ‘we’?”
The Daimyo said coldly.
“You acted on your own. Go and face your punishment.”
“Y-yes, my lord.”
The trembling voice quickly disappeared, leaving silence outside. The Daimyo’s expression relaxed, losing the earlier domineering look.
“Jin, don’t concern yourself with these small matters. They are ninjas, we are Daimyo. When we overstep, being slightly reprimanded isn’t a big deal.”
Jin nodded, now deeply understanding everything. Yet, he felt a slight sting in his heart.
Previously, he believed his family’s power was boundless, but today he first realized the concept of limits.

“Lord Daimyo, we have arrived at the Mizukage’s office.”
“Very well.”
The Daimyo nodded lightly, then turned to Jin.
“Jin, I’ve dealt with the Third Mizukage my whole life. Now it’s time to end that. The future belongs to you and the Fourth Mizukage.”
Jin composed himself, gripping his sleeves, and nodded seriously.
With reverence and solemnity, he walked towards the Mizukage’s office.
According to my father, I must pay the most attention to Naoki in the future.
