“Today’s actions were excessive.”
Uchiha Sasuke frowned, staring at the boy wearing a white mask. His gaze lingered on the slowly healing right hand, and his expression involuntarily grew more serious. Clearly, Sasuke had reservations about Yukigetsu.
“Hmph.”
Sasuke snorted, annoyed. He thought about his own Genin-level chakra reserves and the C-rank jutsu he had mastered. Even if Yukigetsu could heal his wounds, their gap would only widen over time, becoming insurmountable. Even now, Sasuke was confident he could defeat him.
With this thought, Sasuke shoved his hands into his pockets and turned to leave.
The students of Class B were furious, watching Sasuke leave so arrogantly after beating their classmate. They clenched their fists, wanting to shout, but Sasuke’s imposing presence held them back, even with Yukigetsu supporting them.
“Hey…”
A low, solemn voice came from behind, making hearts skip a beat.
Sasuke paused, frowning as he turned to look at the boy standing in front of Choji. Yukigetsu’s eyes were slightly narrowed, a familiar gesture that made the Class B students tense.
“Aren’t you going to apologize before you leave?”
The surrounding noise quieted instantly. Many boys and girls stared blankly at the masked boy. Hinata Hyuga, hiding behind a tree, instinctively covered her mouth. The boy standing in the sunlight wore a faint smile, but his sharp demeanor was as fierce as a fledgling bird showing its first signs of aggression.
The Class B students were also surprised, their faces flushing slightly. Choji raised his head a bit, feeling warmth from Yukigetsu’s restrained anger.
“Apologize?”
Sasuke’s expression grew darker, and he sneered, “Are you joking?”
He had never bowed his head at the Ninja Academy. Why should he apologize? Was Yukigetsu crazy?
“Then let’s settle this with a few moves.”
Yukigetsu nodded, never expecting Sasuke to apologize. Without another word, he took a step toward Sasuke.
Tap, tap, tap…
The surrounding students watched the confrontation, their eyes widening. These two were the most renowned students at the Academy. They had expected their showdown to happen in a few days, but it was happening now.
Sasuke’s eyes narrowed, his gaze chilling. No one had ever dared to confront him like this. Though he had heard about Yukigetsu’s abilities, he was still this year’s top student in every aspect.
“Such courage…”
Sasuke’s lips curled into a mocking smile as he stared at Yukigetsu, “I don’t know where a loser who can’t even extract chakra gets the nerve to act arrogant in front of me.”
The Class B students felt a surge of anger at Sasuke’s harsh words, but they knew Sasuke was out of their league. They could only grit their teeth in silence.
Contrary to their suppressed anger, Yukigetsu smiled lightly, extending his right hand and curling his fingers slightly, “Whether I’m a loser or not, you’ll find out soon enough.”
Sasuke’s pupils contracted slightly. He hadn’t expected Yukigetsu to speak to him like this. His voice turned colder, “I had planned to teach you a lesson in a few days. But since you’re so eager, let’s settle this now.”
Sasuke stepped forward as soon as he finished speaking, transforming into a black blur and charging at Yukigetsu.
Choji, seeing Sasuke’s speed, was shocked. Sasuke was even faster than when he fought him. Was this his full power?
He worriedly looked at Yukigetsu, only to find that his friend’s youthful face remained calm, with a faint smile and eyes that shone with a fierce light.
Seeing Yukigetsu’s composure, Choji’s worry lessened slightly, feeling a bit more hopeful. Though Uchiha Sasuke was formidable, Yukigetsu was no pushover. Taking him down wouldn’t be as easy as Sasuke thought.
“Such arrogance…”
Yukigetsu narrowed his eyes, shaking his head with a smile. His youthful face grew serious, and his eyes sparkled with a cold light. He clenched his fist, feeling his chakra surge, silently enhancing his strength.
The tension in the air escalated dramatically.
The surrounding students couldn’t look away, curious about who would come out on top in this first clash between the two.
“Stop!”
Just as the two were about to clash, a shout rang out from a distance. With a swift motion, a figure in Chunin attire appeared between them.
“Iruka-sensei!”
The students recognized him and quickly bowed.
Yukigetsu sighed and calmed his chakra while Sasuke also stopped, his lips curling in annoyance. Iruka was their teacher and a recognized Chunin in Konoha, someone they couldn’t easily offend.
“No fighting allowed in school. Do you want to be punished?” Iruka scolded, looking around sternly.
“Tch.”
Sasuke clicked his tongue, knowing he couldn’t fight today. He pointed at Yukigetsu, “I’ll see you in the graduation exam. I hope you can pass.”
He turned and left without waiting for a response, muttering loud enough for everyone to hear, “Just a loser…”
Yukigetsu heard Sasuke’s deliberate remark and shook his head, “Such an arrogant guy.”
Choji, thinking Yukigetsu was still angry, quickly said, “Yukigetsu, don’t be mad. Didn’t you always say that we can’t bite back if a dog bites us?”
Yukigetsu laughed, patting Choji’s shoulder, “True, true, you’re right…”
“What sense does that make… I’ve been wanting to challenge that saying of yours for a while.”
A lazy voice interrupted them. Yukigetsu and Choji turned to see Shikamaru looking half-awake with his hands behind his head.
